Nice little game. The visuals are great - I really like the backgrounds. The music is nice, though it sometimes feels out of place with the hardcore platforming. I also enjoyed the gameplay. It's neat how there are a bunch of different levels with unique themes and enemies. As others have mentioned, it feels like the game needs some checkpoints (I did get to the end despite this). Sliding under stuff can also be a bit awkward.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback Veralos! All great points. Yeah I must admit, I wasn't sure what to do with some of the sliding stuff, like when you get stuck beneath something. Perhaps it should have transitioned into a "crawl" mechanic. Thank you for playing all the way through!! :)

Really beautiful game! :D I love how Gymnopédie was used in the soundtrack, making the game even more beautiful! Also, you got the mood totally right there and the controls worked perfectly! Also, really challenging boss there! :D

Good job!

Cheers! I adore the song, so am really glad we were able to use it.

Haha yeah, I fear I overshot the difficulty on the boss :)

I like your game. There is a good immersion, a good music, a good gameplay. It's fun, not too easy, not too hard. You use different mecanism, different universe. This is a great job !

New mecanism are introduce with a little panel, it's cool. I love your atmopshere.

Thanks so much! :)

Nice entry, though I feel like the checkpointing could have been a bit more forgiving, haha!

Developer

Thank you! Haha I've heard this quite a bit, so after the jam I think I'll put up a version with checkpoints!!

Really nice game! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation, if you’d like to take a look :)

Thanks Jupiter!! It's really kind of you to play through everyone's games. It was really rewarding (and a bit surreal) to see someone play it live, and I imagine other creators would feel the same!

Really, really nice aesthetics. I really wanted to finish this, but the last (? dark) level was just too hard for me. If there was a trick, I didn't get it. Either way, super good graphics, sound, and overall design!

Thank you Max! Nah totally fair enough, I think the game ended up being much harder than we intended. Haha the trick with that one is basically: the eye will disappear if it gets out of the screen. So if you see it coming from the right, dart a little to the left and it will go away. Or if it's coming from the bottom, jumping up will make it disappear. But it was quite a punishing level (I've done it a LOT and still die half the time). Thank you for playing it so far! It means a lot :)

Really sweet game! I like the aesthetic of it, almost feels like something from a storybook. Good difficulty curve.
I would say prehaps the sprites could have been downsized a bit to fit more on the screen, as i felt there were times i wasn't sure what was up ahead.

Thanks Angus! Fair point :)

I like environments diversity!

Haha, thank you!

A really neat little platformer. Controls were tight and the lovely visuals together with good choice of music made it feel quite atmospheric. As someone who doesn't play a lot of platformers, I would've liked a checkpoint or two in the ice level, but it didn't really get too difficult or frustrating . A great entry!

Developer

Thanks Tulevik! I've gotta agree with you about the checkpoint; I'm still pretty terrible at the ice level even after doing it 50 times. If I ever flesh out the game, checkpoints'll definitely be included. Cheers!
