Did you work in a team?
Solo effort, there was some time left in the jam so I put this together real quick.
Didn't turn out that great but it's whatever. ;)

Was the resolution a challenge?
Text was a little bit of a problem for this one so I opted to use a bar instead of a text timer counting down for example.
But that was about it really.

What did you learn?
I learned that I need to spend more time and planning than this when making a game. ;)

Pretty easy, but kept my attention long enough to beat it. I liked how you handled the health indicator.

Developer

Thanks for playing, yeah it turned out a bit easy and not really that great but there were some time left in the jam so I just thought I'd throw this together real quick. ^^

Good level design and mechanics. If you create a another level i would suggest that you also add another soundtrack as it is short.

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing.

Yeah I just kinda cobbled together the music track real quick so it isn't exactly amazing. ;)

I will very likely not be updating this one though as it was just a quick little side thing I wanted to try.

Thanks for the feedback. ^^

Good mechanics, I love the simple but effective level design. Pretty fast development too!
06:20:42 my time!

Developer

Thanks for playing. :)

If I didn't fail a bit at the world design then this would probably have been done an hour or two faster at least. ^^

That’s a nice game, the level design was very good, overall a good game. Beat it in 4:39 !

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you like it, even though it was a bit rushed. ^^

Pretty simple mechanics, but the constant progression with core upgrades felt quite good actually. It was a fun and enjoyable 5 minutes. And making something like this in 9 hours, that's pure witchcraft.

Developer

Thanks for playing. :)

Yeah I was trying to go as simple as possible to save time with this one.

The general idea was for it to be kind of like a top down metroidvania thing and that's why the progression ended up like it did, there are also a few secrets to complement that. ^^

Most of those 9 hours probably went into designing and drawing the world, I had to scale the scope down quite a bit which can be seen in the time lapse video on the game page.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. :)

Cool game. I liked the concept of the life bar also serving as the time limit. I'm impressed you managed to make such an expansive level in so short of a time.

Developer

Hey, thanks, glad you like it, even though it didn't exactly turn out as I wanted.^^

Really not bad for 9 hours worth of work, I'd hardly be able to get anything done in that time. The atmosphere sorta reminded me of Metriod, not the look or gameplay, just the feel of it. The life bubble is kinda interesting, does it do anything besides look cool?

Developer

Yeah.. well, I didn't really have much direction when making this one, there was just some time left in the jam and I thought I might be able to squeeze another game in there.

I was thinking something like this when making it:

Top down, Hero Core (another game made by someone I can't remember), slight metroidvania elements (upgrades / secrets).

So reminding you of Metroid is not that far off as that was one of my thoughts when making it. ^^

And if you don't finish the game before the green circle runs out then you loose the game, assuming this is what you meant by "life bubble".

Anyway, thanks for playing. :)

Oh what?! You made this as well?!! So good! props for mmf2 ^_^. Congrats!

Developer

Yeah, there was some time left in the jam and I thought I might be able to make another tiny game.

Didn't exactly turn out as I wanted but it's whatever. ^^

And by "mmf2" do you mean Multimedia Fusion 2? If so, that's unfortunately incorrect, I used Game Maker Studio v1.4. ;)

Thanks anyway though. :)

I had that thought, but sadly not the time hehe. Ahh of course it is, I mistook it in the tiny video player on the page. Nice one :)

Developer

Yeah, I get that.

All I have is time right now, well, kinda... I should work on my main project but I needed a bit of a break.

And yeah, it's probably not that easy to see in that tiny video player so I get that as well.

Anyway, thanks once again. :)
