Really fun game, nice graphics and music, really cool concept, tho I did not like that when you pick up start that spawn on the middle of screen, the ship spawn and telefrags you.  My highscore was 24

Yeah ik that's annoying. I didnt get enough time to think of that, but I got really good suggestions on how to improve the spawning! I'll do it after the jam.

Really fun game! My 2 pieces of constructive criticism is I would have liked it if the main ship was a little different color from the clones so it was more easily noticeable (I know it had a glowing light behind it but it took me awhile before I noticed, wasn't immediately obvious)

The second thing is I would have liked a little break after I lost a life to get a little breather. Like used the time skip power code to pause the game while a respawn animation played out (kinda like geometry wars)

I'd like to add to this because I agree with developRHUNT. I think the foundation for the game is amazing, and the concept is executed perfectly! The few things I think could make this game feel more complete is what developRHUNT said, as well as the functionality of slowly zooming out the screen to give the player some more space to work with. I think this could make the game more fun but at the same time less challenging/competitive, which, depending on what you're going for, may be a good thing or a bad thing. But I think it would be cool to give the player more space and see hundreds of rockets flying around. It might make the rockets smaller of course, which is probably bad, maybe make a limit to how much it can zoom out? Idk just throwing out an idea. Otherwise, I think the game is amazing!

Love the lighting and how the time freeze power-up turns everything dark. I think the game could use some hit-stop when you get hit by your clone to make it feel more impactful. Simple but really fun!

I tried doing that, but one of my friends suggested keeping the clones moving and all! I guess I could try implementing this in the next update! But thanks for playing and the suggestion!

Time freeze is my fav too. The music also slows down a bit!

This was a really fun game!  The visuals are great, everything looks very polished.  The game's difficulty ramped up nicely, and the limited turn speed of the rocket was a bit tricky and frustrating, but in a good way!  And I LOVED that music!!  Great job!

The music was amazing and the FX were incredibly juicy and satisfying, especially the powerup that destroys other clones!

This is the kind of mechanic that is in need of expansion.

First of all, I really like this game. The music and art fits the style you're going for. Nice job on adding a tutorial video.

Now here's some of my suggestions. They will not work on there own, but I believe they will work if you decide to expand upon the game in general.

- Clones should be able to pickup scores and powerups.

- Clones should be able to collide with each other

For the ideas above to work, you would need to rework the lives system and the overall goal of the game. It's just a suggestion, but I feel like this game would really shine with more complexity and mayhem.

Thank for you playing and the suggestions! At first, I did allow clones to pickup scores (not powerups though). But that seemed weird and difficult to focus on the player. And I had to remove the clones colliding with each other because that would make the game easier and no need for power-ups at all! But I'm glad you brought this up as I'm planning to expand this game!

Maybe I will create a new powerup that temporarily lets clones collide! That could work I guess!

Like some other games in this jam, it seems very simple but it can get interesting and more complex as you keep going and get further into a run. I really enjoyed the controls, art style, MUSIC!!!, and general concept. 

There are a few things that I would suggest to improve:

  • It would be awesome to have some level design to add further complexity to the game, so that the complexity is not just from the main mechanic. Maybe this means that you would have to stretch out the level more, or make players smaller, to give more room for things like walls and obstacles, enemies, etc, but I think it might be worth it.
  • I think you could extend this endless gameplay loop into more structured levels where levels ramp up in difficulty and give you variety of challenges that make you engage in the main mechanics. While endless mode gives more replayability, levels are more engaging the first time through. Maybe you could have two modes.

I enjoyed what I played, despite my criticisms, good job!

Initially, this was supposed to be multiple levels, not endless mode. I planned to have snakes instead of rockets! With different level designs. But I thought to make it endless due to time constraints! But I will definitely add what you suggested!
