Amazing art direction in both audio and visual! Stunning stuff. The gameplay is decent but can get stale pretty quickly. Great job though and great job in including a tutorial on top of everything!

Really great game! I love the mechanic and the art style fits it incredibly well. It's really well polished with great animations and voice acting etc. It's a complete package and was a lot of fun. Great job dude!

Easy to pick up - logic, puzzle, learn-to-code types.

Alright concept - seen these before but mission on Mars fits the theme well.

Cohesive design on the theme - sound, art and UI goes very well together.

Calm and Comforting BGM, natural sound effect and extra points on voice acting :)

Summary:

Game play is smooth with good execution. I have a feeling that the battery would add challenges to the later levels but with only 8 levels it didn't shine. With 50 levels, I hope it becomes "easy to pick up, hard to master"!

My humble suggestion:

At the tutorial, let the players take their time to read and understand the instructions with the UI. The text popped away too fast!

"Current Charge" of the battery should increase as player presses the "+" to indicate the changes. As budget goes down, charges go up.

Option to spend money/resource to self-repair?

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the game. Good job!

Thank you!

Awesome game, I really like the mechanics and artstyle. The sound design is very good as well, good job with this one!

Developer

Thank you. My day job is related with sound, actually! I guess that came in handy...

Ok concept. Good execution. Immersive UI. Good bgm and sound fx.

The battery indicator could use some love. Doesn't quite make sense that money charges the battery on Mars, maybe replace the money/battery game over condition with a 3 crashes per level rule and then be forced to start over.

Developer(+1)

HI Ruben!

On Mars everything is free! The premise is the cost of science and scientists here on earth! Time is money and scientists are paid to run the rover and do science with it. Standing still (charging or thinking about steps) is wasting resources. The space agency only pays within the budget and the budget only grows with scientific results, by reaching those points of interest, therefore, not working costs money and when there is no money, there is no mission! Game over... crashing the rover will also kill the mission!

About the battery indicator... Yes, you're right, and the mockup I draw on last Sunday had some bars instead of numbers, but, I didn't have much time to make love this week... ah ah!

Thanks for the ideas... We need to go for a coffee sometime!

Amazing game with a style I absolutely love. It's so gritty yet cartoonish and real all at the same time.

I love the added mechanics of the wind modifying the amount of tiles you move, and on top of that having to program the actions under threat of taking too long costing more.

I must admit there were times I abandoned counting tiles and just guessed based on what it looked like to save time haha!

All around a really fun game!

Good job chief!

Developer

Thank you so much for your input. The wind is one of many items I imagine in this game... maybe after the jam!

Developer

Thank you for your words!

Amazing job! I'm a sucker for space related games ;)

Loved the design, colors, theme, and puzzles. I received a game breaking but once I got to the wind …. but I really enjoyed it. Good luck!

Hi! Thank you I'm glad you like it.

If you like space games, maybe you can check my other space related game! Check my profile for "Free Return Trajectory" It has similar art (same artist.. me) but you play with gravity!

Freakin' great game. Great premise. Wonderfully executed. I continuously had a bug where the rover would disappear off the screen if I failed the level that prevented from finishing though :(

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I've been aware of "the bug" since Thursday. I thought I had, but I guess I wasn't able to solve it... surely after the jam... wrong variable somewhere.

Amazing art style and the mechanics are really good.

Good job!

Thank you for your kind words!

Really liked the art style, did not understand at first what I needed to do, but after some time I figure it out, really nice and fun game overall. Tho sometimes the roover would end outside the camera or even go behind the hud, making it hard to see where it is.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! A good scientist never loses his rover! LOL.... I'm kidding :)

I was hoping to have time to refine the camera and make sure the rover was always visible, but there was always something more important to solve and the camera stay fixed! Because it is possible to play the all 8 levels to the end without having to leave the camera's field of view, I was giving it a low priority.

Once again, thank you!

the art, the game, really everything is well put together, and polished, i think you'll get in the top few people.

Being here with the game finished is "top" enough... thank you for your words!

I loved it! great work! I'm not sure if it was intentional, but failing multiple times an a certain mission left the robot off screen and I wasn't sure why (it said to fight wind by moving left and right before that I think)

Developer(+1)

Hi, I'm glad you liked it! I've been aware of this problem since Thursday. I thought I had already solved it but I must have something linked to the wrong level! I noticed that this happened when using the continue button in the main menu. Thanks

Wow! One of the best games I played today! The art, music everything is cool! I remember an old game similar to this, I don't know what it was called. But this is way better than that! Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you

great art and idea. the sound effects are cool

the grids having rocks and terrain can be made to pop out (since the game depends on time)

I got into a grid with rock on edge, and could not move in any direction so eventually destroyed.

Developer

Ah, Ah! You know... it's like real life! If you mess up a real rover, no one is going to mars to repair it! That's the challenge... Well, it's always possible to send another! Thank you for your input!
