My favourite game of this jam so far!!This game is just amazing in every aspect! I loved it so much!

The gameplay is amazing! It really proves that you can provide challenge without punishing the player! The weapons feel different due to the screen shake, so you can really tell how much more powerful the energy weapon is! Great touch. The limit of the energy weapon makes it a bigger challenge. It was explained well and i never felt overwhelmed. The levels were fun to play through and worked really well too.

The art style is top notch! Animations are great, and i love the lighting of the game too!

The music is amazing too! Really fits the vibe of the game. Especially using instruments with techno sounds, it lends for a very pleasant sound. As a bassist, i especially liked the tone ;).

The boss fight was also great. It was fun and challenging, but not impossible. It really made use of the quick respawn times too.

The fact that it shows you your stats at the end adds a great deal of replayability, and makes it a speedrun-able game too.

This has a lot of potential to become a full release!

Wow, thanks for all the kind words! I'm glad you liked it. I've been building a list of new features and ideas I want to add, so if everything works out, a full release could be coming in the future!

Great looking game and really fun! The boss fight was fun, and the end stats give you a reason to play again to get a better score. I seen that one time my hp bar showed no health but I still had one hit left however I couldn't replicate this. Overall great game, good job!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it. And thanks for reminding me about the health bar issue. I'd noticed it, but never got the time to fix it.

GOOD ART, REALLY FUN!

OK, this is an epic game. I loved the design, I loved the mechanics, I played it muted but probably music was great too. It would have been cool an ending where you kill the boss, but an explosion or something seemingly kills you, only for you to wake up as the Boss and repeat the cycle once again xD

Developer

I love that ending idea! I might steal that. Thanks for playing!

If you do let me know so I replay it haha, it would be great (pst, review my game btw)

Loved it ! The boss battle was really good, and having this little pattern was nice !

Good job !

Wow! That's was really cool =D

> The art style was pretty simple but works very well. The boss animation was well realized.

> The game feels punchy, it was pleasant to go through all the levels. I would have liked to find secret rooms with chests and power-ups in them, for example.

> I think the idea of resurrecting from the bodies of enemies we've killed is a very good one.

> The music and sounds effects were awesome.

Good job ^_^

Nicely done! And thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to continue with this game, and powerups are definitely on the table. Maybe temporary invincibility, infinite energy, faster attack rate. Let me know if there are any others you'd like to see!

Super smooth animations, bopping music, good mechanics, what more can you ask for?

Really nice take on the theme! The animations were really expressive and detailed! The music was really nice, along with the SFX providing great feedback towards whats happening on screen. The gameplay was also really engaging! The set of mechanics found really promote an aggressive play style, which is  a huge plus.

I would like to note though that given how the respawn and energy mechanic works, along with the fact that there are so many enemies to respawn from, I usually found myself killing at least one enemy by spamming all my energy shots, getting killed, getting all my energy back, then repeat, which may lose a little bit of the meaning behind aggressive play and lean more towards brute-forcing (idk). Maybe don't let the player spawn with full energy (0 - 1/4th energy when respawn maybe), and in that way players could think more about how to use their energy more thoughtfully (don't quote me on this though, its just a suggestion and could probably make the game worse haha).

I also just want to say that I really liked the tutorial. It was such a nice introduction to the game proper, and hyped me up to see what I was getting myself into (always love title drops in media).

Overall, it was a really good game that handled all aspects pretty well. I enjoyed playing it quite a lot! Good work!

Thanks for playing! Aggressive, fast play was my goal from the start, so I'm glad that came across. I really appreciate the feedback, because I think you're right that the energy system needs some work. I'll try your suggestion and see how it plays. Maybe respawn with 0 energy but make the main attack recharge more energy, so you don't just end up stuck without any energy. Or another option I've considered is ditching the energy drain and making the corpses disappear over time to keep the player moving. Glad to hear the title drop wasn't too cheesy!

What a great game!

The animations were super smooth and the music was great!

The death mechanic is really creative and add a lot to the game. I like how both the death mechanic and the energy mechanic encourage you to go head on into the combat.

I am probably nitpicking at this point, and I don't know if you did it because of the small hallways, but I think that bullets could probably be bigger. But other than that, game feel was trough the roof! Really, really nice job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The bullet size and shape was something I just set early on and never thought about again, so I'm sure it could be improved. I'll try bigger bullets and see how it looks!

Kills: 210 | Respawns: 47 | Deaths: 0

Controls were smooth and levels flowed. The respawn mechanic made blasting the onslaught of enemies to the music very entertaining.

Solid game play!

Developer

Nice kill count! Thanks for playing.

Your game was awesome i loved the aesthetic you went for.

At first i thought that i was just gonna be able to run to the lader and finish every level but it was not the case, because if you don't kill ennemi you restart at the begining of the level you are in

I also thought that not being able to really die was gonna make the game not challenging but it was not the case.

I loved playing your game I'm sure that if you add features, enemy and other stuff it could make an epic game.

And the Audio was also super cool

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I thought about locking the ladders until all the enemies are dead, but didn't have the time to implement it. I'm glad it worked out well anyways.
