This was a nice and polished game! I liked the creative concept and well constructed puzzles in it. The gameplay was pretty smooth as well, and the music was nice too!

Well explained, good art, good music, good plot, good graphics

This was a really fun, creative mechanic for a puzzle game! The level design was solid, and did a good job teaching all the mechanics with a steady difficulty curve. I love the music, and how it gets more and more energetic as you go through the levels. I think the game has a lot of potential. I hope you keep developing it!

I think it would feel better when you explode and stay in place. also i felt like the levels were to similar.

but great work. it's def creative!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the criticism! I've been told the reset in location was a bit annoying, so if i do continue with this project, i'll definitely make sure you stay in place when you explode!

The levels were a bit similar yeah. I was running out of inspiration at that point, so I used the same layouts, but moved things around to keep things interesting and keep the player thinking, since moving 2 objects changes the levels solution entirely.

Nice game and the music is really cool ! I don't know why but sometimes destroyed wall are getting back to their positions...

Anyway, great work ! {^^}

The enemies fix walls if you don't get rid of them.  Thank you!

Wow, nice puzzle game! The concept is really simple and easy to understand, so it was really easy to get into! The first two levels also did a good job of letting players know all that they need to know to play the game, so well done on that! The pacing and difficulty curve of the levels were good too, they never got too hard too quickly, which I appreciated! Its also nice that even though there are enemies in the game, you always make sure to put your players in a safe space in the beginning that would allow them to see how they should plan their next course of action. The way you introduced new elements in the game was also done really well, it never got too overwhelming too fast. I also want to say that I really love the character designs (they look so cute)! Plus the music was really good! The song felt like it took the between the intensity of an action game and the pace of a puzzle game (which is perfectly fitting for this game)! The sound effects were also really good and matched well with their respective actions (especially the slime).

Now for some of the criticisms, I feel like the game could have really benefited from a restart button. I only had the need to restart a level once, but it took so long to wait for the animation where I explode myself to finish. This can stop the momentum of a game when players just realize the solution and want to apply it as soon as they can or if they accidentally explode themselves by mistake. The levels could also be a bit harder, as it usually took just one look around the room to solve the puzzle, but it was fun nonetheless. Also, I don't know if it's intentional, but I think the blast hurtbox lasts for too long. There was one level where I was above two enemies and had to explode the floor in order to get to the bottom floor. After exploding the floor, the player didn't instantly go back to the start and was still affected by physics, so even though the character sprite was gone, the blast radius marker was still there and it fell and killed the two enemies. All of these aren't really major issues, but more just nitpicks, so good job on that!

Also just want to note the first time I loaded the game the camera was zoomed in, but a browser refresh fixed it, so not that big of a deal.

Overall, it was a nice short puzzle game that I really enjoyed! The characters look fun and the music was great to listen too. I like the concept a lot and it could probably be explored even further (maybe with physic too??). Nice work guys!

Wow! Thank you so much! I definitely see how a restart button would've helped! It wasn't on my mind for whatever reason. The final level was a bit rushed and wasn't tested as much as the others, so I see that criticism too. I don't seem to stop applying physics when the player dies (which I should've done). The camera zoom issue i've been informed of but have no real knowledge in how to fix. I've honestly tried everything.

Thanks again for playing and reviewing my game!

Really neat !
I enjoy puzzle games, and the look to yours is really lovely !
the audio is chilled and it is fun to play.

for my taste the levels could have been harder, i kinda just rushed through these levels :D
nevertheless really nice game !

I also did a puzzle game, check it out if you want. (spoiler: you did a way better job on the background music)

Developer

Thank you so much! I had more difficult levels planned but time got the better of me and I didn't want to overwhelm players. I will definitely check out your game!

A simple yet a clever game. I appreciate everything about it. From how thought out the levels were, the simple mechanics and the animations are really satisfying to look at all be it simple.

And what sold me tbh was the damn music, I can bop to that s#!t all day!

One of my complains however, is that blowing yourself up is rather time consuming as you respawn back to the spawn point which is rather pointless given that the map layout will stay the same. I would fix this by simply having the slime blow itself up, piece itself back together in its current position and move on with the level to fix the game's flow a little better. Also on the tutorial level, certain parts requires me to jump repeatedly to just see all the instructions its kinda nauseating but nothing a little click and drag wont fix haha!

Overall, good job my friend! Now back to listening to that bop music.

Developer

Haha thanks! The game seems to be zoomed in for a lot of people, the screenshots show how the game actually looks. I have no idea why it does this! I'll let the composer know hehe ;)

Developer(+1)

Could you test it now and see if it's still zoomed in?

Sure thing my guy

Sorry man :( Its still cut up

Developer

that's strange. It's an issue with with either Godot or Itch.io

Developer

I THINK i've fixed it? Let me know 0_0

Thank you!

Pretty nicee, I liked it and it was easy to understand, Maybe some levels were you have more or less explosions available would do for more interesting levels, or maybe you can explode things that actually should stay there (like the floor or something) so you have to also be careful of where do you explode. Great game nonetheless

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Those are great ideas, if i decide to continue with this project, I might use some of these ideas ;)

Great job on the game. The instructions are well done, and I like that I had to survey the level to plan out how I wanted to approach it. There were even a couple of times where it felt like I had options, which was interesting as I weighed them. I love the flat eyes of the player sprite. It looks so menacing, like he's just looking for a reason to blow up. :)

There's a small design issue that is sort of inherent with your take on the theme, that being at one of the levels I wanted to blow up two workers at the same time, so I had to wait for them to both be in my blast radius, but it seemed like as one would enter, the other would leave, but it varied each time so I had to wait for several passes of this until it felt close enough to attempt.

Since the workers can rebuild your walls, it would be nice if they left rubble behind so that I can keep track of where the walls were previously after I blow them up. It was never an issue, I just think it'd be a nice feature.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah i had a lot more planned visually, including indicating where walls were and adding lighting, but I didn't really have enough time for it.

I definitely see the enemy issue, and I probably should've spent more time on tweaking enemy placements.

The idea is very interesting and the explanations are very clear. The music is nice and corresponds well to the atmosphere of the game. It's pleasant to play :)

There's a very small graphic bug not very serious, when you move the circle splits a little bit.

I had a good time on the game, good job ^_^

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The circle around the player is split as a stylistic choice :) i felt like having a full circle was a bit basic

Interesting Idea.
