Great writing! I like how background and text colors changed based on what was happening in the story. You did a good job making the navigation between conversations really intuitive, and making it clear what you were supposed to be doing without explicitly telling us what to do.
Well written and liked the story concept!
Thank You!
It took me almost 30 minutes to figure out that the story wasn't finished yet (my bad XD). I thought this had a really interesting setup! Had a bit of foreshadowing in the beginning while talking to Ralph (didn't read the little header description thing, so I didn't know what I was getting myself into). I have to say that the sudden shift of background color from black to white was kinda blinding (unfortunately had brightness on high...) so maybe try to avoid that a bit more in the future as it could affect some people. Or maybe have a slow color transition from black to white (I never used twine before, so I don't know if thats possible). Besides that, I liked how you played around with the text and background colors. The colors were all well coordinated and defined, so players know if a sentence is a testimony or if its the character inner dialogue just from the colors alone.
I liked the way you written some of the characters witness reports! The all caps and extension of letters to words adds a lot to their personality, which I really enjoyed! There were a few grammatical errors that I picked up while playing through that I don't think were intentional, but idk. I also feel like there was an inconsistency with the info given, not gonna spoil just in case, but it was somewhere in the "consult colleagues on site" section (only a minor inconsistency that doesn't affect the game that much anyway). Also I thought that the "truth" behind the mystery was a bit too on the nose, but I still enjoyed the journey getting to that truth! Reading through the mysteries and trying to piece things together was fun! The end part also was a really neat bookend to the narrative!
All in all, I could see a lot of the fragments of what your original scope of the game was supposed to be, and I see a lot of potential with a story like this! Hopefully you continue making this game and see it through to the end! Nice work! P.S. I really liked the amount of customization you gave to the player in the settings :)
Sorry about the unfinished state. I probably should of put (WIP) in the title. Ill try to look out for that inconsistency as I continue to work on the game. The ending was a bit rushed so maybe ill rework it to be a bit better. Thank you for your feedback!!!
Very rare (for me) to play a text game. I could not finish it. It would be great if you have some images/sounds at certain moment to illustrate the story.
I think the game logo and name reminds me: Operating System and Programming Language, so I thought it was about that before playing your game ;P
By the way, you made me laugh when I clicked on settings and it was written: There are none lol.
Ill consider adding more media as I work on it. I planned to have images but had to reallocate my work time to finish the story up to a playable state. Thank you for your feedback!
This is a really nice text based game, in the beginning the story is pretty interesting and it starts off with some good concepts, however it ends up being a detective game, and, probably due to the lack of time, the plot does not end with anything as related to the theme as the beginning
True, I also noticed as I worked on the game how it was straying from the main jam theme. I'm thinking about adding more pitfalls so reincarnation becomes a more apparent theme. Thanks for your feedback!
