Explosive bullets and their amount +3 way too OP. But you need to think about gem you want to take, that's a big plus. Sometimes there are way too much enemies.

Cute art and nice music, thank you for your entry!

Very good game

Cool game, I really like the hand-drawn artstyle! For some reason it bugged out for me the first time I died and clicked 'Try Again', and I couldn't move at all upon respawning and had to reset the game :(

Submitted(+2)

Very fun game, art-style is nice to look at and has overall good gameplay loop, really nice!

Submitted(+2)

I love the artstyle its got some real charm to it, I feel like the enemy death projectiles while a unique and fun concept could be a tone down a bit I didn't sign up for a bullet hell, golem's a little slow but I can't get too mad at that

Submitted(+2)

Love it! Nice artstyle and good gameplay!

Quite fun to play and nice visuals and audio! Also good amount of enemy types and behavior. I got a score of 320 at Wave 11.

I feel the enemy projectiles on death are a bit too strong. Instead of focusing on killing opponents I'm mostly focused on not killing anything until they are clumped up and then kill them one by one, otherwise it's way to dangerous.

Really loved the gameplay aspect. It becomes more fun if you progress further.

Cool game! I really like the animations, however, the theme doesnt feel very connected to game, but it was still very enjoyable, well done :)

Developer

The theme isn't very visible but was definitely an important inspiration! Copy paste from another reply: "Most upgades have an upside and a downside. Putting it in the x3 slot triples the upsides, but also the downsides. Idem for the x2 and x1 slot."

Thanks for playing!

The art is really neat! I love the animations. Also I'm not sure how to earn more upgrades. Do you just earn them after waves or is it random?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The upgrades are given every few waves! We didn't really have time to make that clear to the player.

Submitted(+2)

This is really cool! I love how the theme is implemented, the little goblin animations are so cute, and the detail of adding the gems to the shield is very cool touch.

Submitted(+1)

Upon restarting, the game breaks.

All in all a fun experience!  I couldn't figure out how I earned upgrades, and my actual stats weren't shown so tuning wasn't a thing, but good game! (The music got a bit annoying after a while, nice job balancing movement speed).

Developer

sad to hear that you had the feeling that the game is anoying you because thats not our intention at all :(
we hope you still enjoyed the game.
and as for me "the composer" of this game its hurting a lot because i really tried to keep the music interesting over a 6min loop with seperate tracks coming in for low health and a lot of enemys..but i guess imma have to work out.

Submitted(+1)

Wait, adaptive music? That's pretty spectacular for a jam period!

Upon replaying the game, I realized that the "annoying music" was in-fact the goblins grunting, I was just killing them rhythmically. Oops.

Developer

i gotta say i dont have anything todo with sfx yet but we´ll maybe change them in the near future.
thanks for the feedback <3

This felt so satisfying to play!! I love the game and how powerful you feel after the upgrades - I reached wave 9 and had a great time

Submitted(+2)

The art looked amazing, the gameplay was increasingly difficult, and I could only get to wave 4. Prett damn cool!

How did you get 37 ratings already!? Anyway, I played the game and it's great! That explains it. I love Magic Survival-likes, when they are done well. This one is done well. Very fun to play. Great job.

Developer(+1)

Magic Survival! Wow I can't believe someone else played that game haha. That's the first of these kind of games that I played before Vampire Survivors made it hip on PC. Technically this entry is only half of that genre since you have to actually aim and shoot yourself but it's definitely inspired by those games, including Brotato as well. Thanks for the kind words!

As for the amount of ratings... people seem to like our cover art and we have 2 people playing and commenting on a lot of other submissions. Which is like "advertising" but in a constructive way. I genuinly love playing other people's creations and encouraging them. I honestly never had this much comments on a gamejam submission before! If you like getting lots of feedback I can recommend participating in Ludum Dare 54, 29th of september. Last time I participated (granted, a long time ago) I got lots of constructive reviews despite having only made a small game!

I played the heck out of Magic Survival. I was kind of mad that Vampire Survivors is what people think started that craze, until I watched the Noclip documentary about it, and the developer Luca Galante gave credit to Magic Survival as the initial inspiration. Good on him for that.

Great suggestions, thanks!

The awesome thumbnail drew me in right away - and I'm glad it did :) This was a very fun experience - and I could see it growing into a full roguelite game. While I was confused about how it fit the "3,2,1" theme, I suppose your could justify that the "3 gems" system accomplished that. When the spear goblin charged at me it took me by surprise XD That was fun.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Personally I definitely want to add some more stuff to the game that would differentiate it from the rest of the genre, so many ideas. You can follow the game on itch if you'd like to receive updates!

To clarify, our 3-2-1 theme interpretation is implemented in the way the gems multiply your bonusses. Most upgades have an upside and a downside. Putting it in the x3 slot triples the upsides, but also the downsides. Idem for the x2 and x1 slot. We didn't really find a way to emphasize this because we had so much other stuff to build! Should have just put a text intro explaining that before the game starts haha.

A very nice and polished game, great job!

Really love this one, I got to level 8 before I had too many clubs swinging on screen to dodge

10/10 would get beat up by big green man again
