I spent waaaaay to much time here. xD I love this kinds of games! I will definitely get back to this when I've played through all submissions. I like everything from the look to the gameplay - though, for me as a completionist it was a bit sad that the game gave you unfair goals in the begining sometimes (yes, I restarted like 50 times xD ), like demanding stuff you were not able to create within the time limit. It's a small issue in an otherwise great game! :D Good job!
Hey there, thank you! I totally get what your talking about. The beginning is quite rough eh? I hope to go back and fix that and add a more dynamic system to introduce the players to the idea of production and delivery. It's one of those things where it's really tricky to get right without player input, so I am super happy to get this feedback. It makes me want to go back and make this a fully fledged game.
As for a completionist like you, I literally hadn't thought of adding achievements, long term challenges, etc etc... That's a really great idea as it adds a sense of depth to gameplay. I'm adding it to the list of gameplay ideas people have been recommending!
:D
I'll be sure to check it out if you push an update! :D
This was more fun than it seemed at first blush. I found myself trying again and again to do it better. A bit more instruction on how elements flow might help. Well done. Love the music.
Very nice atmosphere, I like the mechanics too, but I think there is an issue with the starting conditions. I am out of money after putting one production building and an outpost, but the game keeps demanding more production. Anyway, that production building does not generate enough revenue to pay for its own maintenance.
Hiya, thank you for your comment. Definitely the beginning needs some work and the production and delivery system needs a more dynamic elements and a more balanced system. I am thankful for your input as, it really makes me think about how can I make this more player friendly and it pushes me to refine and polish this up!
Looks interesting but needs more information on how the interface works. I managed to work out that WASD scrolls the map - sometimes. There was a goto button that I had no idea what was for. I managed to build one outpost in the wilderness north of Ottawa-ish and it starting producing furs but couldn't get anywhere after that. I tried some more buildings whch didn't show on the map, until all the icons on the left went red and I appeared to be stuck after that.
Ok this game is addictive xD It was hard to understand how to connect the dots at first, but once I got going it was a nice experience! Great job!
Hey, thank you so much. Yeah, I wish I had the time to make a proper tutorial. I saw your game by the way, pretty cool!
Very well done. Enjoyable gameplay once you get the hang of how the game works. Additional parameter to add to improve the gameplay is the ability to zoom in and out in discrete steps on the scene. As once you begin to establish larger networks the text begins to overlap and the scenery becomes messy.
Overall well designed and fun to play.
Thank you so much! I am definitely thinking of going back to clean and refine this up a bit.
It was really fun to play!
I don't know about any other games like this, It could be a great game with more levels and different strategies, not just with history
Hey there, thanks! I'm thinking of adding more buildings, more complex production, and a dynamic economy. Your idea to add different 'levels' intrigues me and I'll definitely take that into consideration.
Super fun! Took a minute to figure out at the start, but after a little trial and error really got hooked. I liked the request -> reputation system that doesn’t let you just build and ignore things to make money.
Thank you so much, your request has been noted! Huzzah! :)
This game is so soothing, I played it for quite a while to be honest I was surprised! It took me back to the tycoon games were I could just relax and watch my money making factories grow! I can see so much potential for this game and it's mechanics! The graphics were really soothing and the UI was very easy to understand. The Instructions could have been a bit more clear at the beginning, the speed for moving in the screen is a tad slow I wish it could be faster, it get's annoying moving in later stages. and some little events would have spiced it up a bit, but overall the game is amazing, it is a fully fledged game with tons of potential!
Loved the old school graphics and sound design, also really helpful with little bits of information popping up here and there on what you can do and not. I would have appreciated a short tutorial or info text, found it a bit confusing at first, but when I got into it I enjoyed it. :)
Well done!
Thank you so much, I would have loved to make a full fledged tutorial but, alas, I ran out of time. The little prompts were a good compromise in my mind.
Cheers!
Really loved the mechanics of this game - and how you got it done in such a short time period!
Yeah, I worked really hard to cram as much gameplay as I could in it, so hopefully it all came together. Thank you so much!
Really enjoyed optimizing outposts and re-routing based on the production objectives. A lot of small useful pieces of feedback to tell you where you can't place and such. Really fun to play! Well done :)
The music is great! The gameplay is very good too! It's soooo satisfying seeing the resources being transported to a city.
awesome game! the art and music is great, the gameplay got me really hooked! it was really immersive and has great replay value , overall I enjoyed playing, congratulations! keep it up!
i LIKE THIS GAME!
