Man, these shaders are putting in work! The visuals are fantastic. From the CRT filter to the subtle warping at the edge of the screen, to the little hats the botty's put on when they have a job.

I really enjoyed the game! There is a lot of potential here. By the time I finished up the last level, I felt like the game was just opening up. I wish there was more, I was just getting started! The only real critique I have is the speed of the bottys. The slow speed lets you be very precise which is nice, but once I've formulated a plan on how to tackle the level, it just ends up being a waiting game until the botty hits the spot I need to change command. Perhaps a fast forward button would aid here? The player could speed up until they need the precision and have it return to normal speed.

Also thank you for sharing the source code! Ended up downloading it and playing from godot just so I could check out the project structure.

Thank you very much for playing my game! Yeah, that CRT shader is rather nice. I, sadly, didn’t make it. I found it on godotshaders.com … it does the CRT and fisheye warping in a single shader. I can only wish to be that skilled in shaders some day.

I do agree with the fast forwarding option. It was just something I never thought off when I was putting the game together. It makes sense in hindsight. Also, I would have loved to have added at least three more levels (a nice, round 10), but I just didn’t really have the time. I’m kinda slow when it comes to figuring out puzzles (and I noticed someone solving level 6 in a way I didn’t predict).

Hehe… I hope the structure of the code was interesting enough to make up for the time and effort to grab it!! I try to keep things organized, but, the further into a jam I go, the more duct-tape code I end up slapping in there.

This reminded me of Lemmings in all the best ways. Very impressive and polished for a jam game. Nice job!

I do agree with what someone else said about the speed of the bottys. It would feel a bit nicer if it was faster, however I understand this could also result in difficulties for the player at points so it may be better to leave it as is.

PS: Am very curious about how you approached the digging mechanic and will be sure to take a look through your source code. Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you very much for playing my game! I’m very glad it reminded you of Lemmings because, not going to lie, I had the Lemmings manual up to crib from a little :D

I do agree with people suggesting a fast forward option as well. It was just something I never thought of. Now that it was brought up, I’ll have to think a bit on how to implement it.

Love the CRT filter (though I will say I did have to turn it off after a while - appreciate that option). Overall thought it was a fun game with some unique concepts. Also appreciate your bravery in putting the code up to dig through - was really interesting seeing how you handled the digging mechanic. Great job!

Thank you very much for playing my game! Yeah, I knew not everyone would love the CRT and may need to have it off. As for the code, I’m a big proponent for Open Source, and tend to put most everything I do up on Github, for better or worse! If you didn’t see it, I will admit, the digging system wasn’t, strictly, my design. I borrowed heavily from someone else (I should have a link to who I borrowed from somewhere in the digging code).

I loved the graphics & audio. This is a very well polished entry ! Congrats ! 

The color palettes are a nice touch for a jam game. 

I think the robots could be moving a bit faster. I got softlocked due to a bug in level 3 when the bot dug down, they couldn't fall past the last removeable block

Thank you very much for playing!! I’m glad you enjoyed the game, though, I’m sorry you encountered a soft-lock. To be honest, I knew these situations were possible.

The digging isn’t handled by manipulating the tilemap, but rather through a slight of hand including raycasting against a series of polygon2Ds that are used as a combination collision layer and masking image. It all works 99% of the time, but there were some cases where the “cut” through the polygons resulted in very small polygons that could block the player, but go undetected by the raycasts… which, in turn, can result in a soft lock.

Also, if I revisit the game, I may have to reconsider how I handle the speed of the little bots. On one hand, I don’t want them going too fast, but, yes, there are situations where the game can feel like it drags on while you wait for them to get to where you want them. Someone in a previous comment suggested a fast forward option… something to look into.

Interesting little puzzle game! I was surprised to see so many color palette options! The core game mechanisms are fun and clever. Nicely done!

Firstly, thank you for adding an option to turn off the CRT filter.  It was unplayable for me until I was able to turn it off.  The game was pretty straightforward, yet tricky.  There were some scenarios where bots got stuck and I had to force lose using a different move, but not very often.

One thing I wish it did have was a key (tab or something?) to cycle through the bots instead of having to click on them.  I specifically call this out because a lot of times I would pack multiple bots in to the same canal, and it became difficult to select a different one.

Overall a solid entry and fun game.  Good job!

Lol, yeah, I knew right away when I put in that CRT shader that not everyone would like it.

I’ll be honest, I never thought about a cycle button. That’s a pretty solid idea! If I go back into the game, I’ll see about implementing something like that.

Oooo cool game! Wouldn't have thought of "forging a path" to be a way to do the theme. Super clever! Puzzles were also fun to complete. Only thing, I kind of wished for some sort of fast-forward button (if there was one I didn't notice it). I remember making a mistake on one of the levels and getting bummed having to do all the parts I already knew how to do all-over again.
