This game is a twin stick shooter which demands you light several abandoned campfires in order to stop the NavigationAgent enemies from spawning. The level completes when all enemies are gone.
It is a simple and competently made showcase of Godot basics. Hopefully, we'll see you shoot higher in January!
Nice! A simple concept but done well, and very polished. Controls work just fine for this kind of game. The snow particles are a nice touch. I liked how the variety of the enemies' sizes/speeds forced me to change my strategy in the later levels, but unfortunately they still became somewhat tedious to deal with. In every level, especially the last two, I would spend half the time just running in circles around a campfire while being chased by like 10 enemies. It would be cool if there were also an attack with a wider area of effect which could take care of multiple enemies at once. Maybe it could have a cooldown to prevent it from being OP. Great job though!
Near perfect game! Only a few things I noted below:
- Sounds for shooting, impact, enemy death, player death.
- Roaring of the wind/snow.
- Walls didn't cast shadows.
Great job!
I think the game was quite good the only problem I had with it was I didn't know when I was dying other than that it was a fun game! - Alfie
Pretty good !
Hope you the best !
Interesting game! Well done! I'm impressed this is only your second jam. I think the only thing I'd have liked was a little more indication as to when I was about to lose, maybe just some kind of flashing indicator. Otherwise, the game was pretty solid.
great look - I enjoyed playing!
Cool game. It's pretty fun and fits very well with the themes and wildcard.
The main criticism I can make :
- The walls didn't stand out enough from the background, which was a bit frustrating.
- I found the controls a bit overwhelming for the complexity of actions. My left hand had a lot of stuff to do. Perhaps shifting the interact button on the right mouse button could balance it out.
I like the lighting effects, and the opening cutscene adds some good context.
Also, excellent options menu - pretty comprehensive and a nice bit of polish that often gets missed!
Difficulty curve is a bit too steep for me. Died pretty much immediately on all three attempts (probably a skill issue).
I think the point lights should be a bit more orange. They feel more like lightbulb light and less like firelight.
