Game Description
Save innocent bystanders from evil elementals by the power of snowballs.
How does your game tie into the theme?
I want players to be illuminated by the existential themes. Also, the whole world in on fire so everything is illuminated.

Love the SFX for the game. Gameplay was solid and felt pretty balanced. Nice!
nice job! Love how homemade the sound effects were, it was pretty charming!
Thanks. I tried channeling my inner Michael Winslow.
We got our first browser-crashing game!
What this means is that it's not fair for me to attempt to review your game. From my experience in GWJ#63, this means that complex shaders and particles were used heavily to produce the game's atmosphere. Specifically, both Family Ties and Snowflake Cat suffered from this issue.
Best of luck on this go around!
ok. I appreciate the other info.
Could you let me know what browser and OS that you're using, please?
Opera GX, Windows 10
fun sound effects, cool atmosphere! Is it possible to kill the end boss? For me, it just grew bigger!
No, unfortunately there's not a way to defeat it, yet.
Thanks for playing!
I really liked the sounds in this game, and the color choice
Thanks for the kind comments. I chose a couple color schemes from LoSpec.com that looked appealing. Then stuck to basically the reds, browns, and blue for that lightning bolt. Originally, I was going for a Limbo look but in red.
Really cool game and really funny sound effect, Good Job!
Bro, those sound effect had me dying laughing! I saved 37 of the people, great entry.

Cool game saved 36, it took a while to load probaly beacuse of particles ? I personally encounter the same proble while using particles and shaders, if the particles are all the same you can spawn them in the menu, behind the screen and the queue free them. The remap key-feature is very helpful. Good job!
Thank you for the review and tip. So what I'm hearing is to spawn the particles in the title screen, free them (so they are cached already), and then add it back into the level. Let me know if I got that right.
Yes is correct, you dont need to touch the already in level particles I think, unless they are not a separated scene, it depends on how you have setted it up. I would just go for try and error lol
Haha they are supposed to be lightning bolts.
I wanted to add buildings, furnishings that you'd have to jump over or destroy. And then if destroyed they would leave trash which could be collected into your Bag of Holding. Thanks for your review.
Love the art style! The tornado sprite is awesome.
Thanks. I didn't even think it was a tornado. I just called it Wind. Lol. Tornado totally makes sense though
I like your art style! is nice :D
Thanks! I'm a big fan of pixel art. This makes me want to stick with it and get better. Take care!
I have a question, what's the objective of the game, save people? what does it have to do with the theme?
Just to save the most people before the time runs out. I want players to be enlightened to that theme of life and what to do with the time you have left. do you go right or go left or just stay where you are and not save anyone (which I didn't program an outcome for but would have loved to). My execution of that theme could be better. I wanted to use a text system to write a short intro and other cut scenes but I chose not to because of time and I couldn't get my prototype of it to work correctly. Also, wanted to use fire graphics, light nodes, and light occluders but ran out of time. Saying that everything is already illuminated because everything is on fire is a cop-out for sure.
This game changed my life. The soundscape is a beautiful cacophony of grunt, moans, yippees, what seems to be you farting directly into a microphone, and mildly suspicious claps. Truly I have been illuminated by this game's existential themes. Are you supposed to be able to get past the big red guys on either end of the level? They just kept inflating the more snowballs I threw at them so I turned around.
haha glad you like it! I swear there are no farts in this game. But that gives me some ideas for the next jam.. so thank you.
No, you can't get past these bosses. They're inevitable.
Very fun game! The sound design is very funny!
thanks! glad you liked it.
Cool game!
After saving like 40+ i encounterd the fire boss or something is it even possible to beat or am i just bad lol also windows keept asking me if my keys were sticky lol when i was spamming shift to throw the snowballs lol it could be cool if you could aim with the mouse
thanks for the comment/rating. no, you're not bad. I made the bosses like a Nemesis from Resident Evil or something like that. you're supposed to just run away... the game ends there for now.
omg the dreaded sticky keys feature! how'd that not get caught in my alpha testing? sorry about that.
great feature request regarding aiming with the mouse!
Hey, fun entry.
Just to let you know. On MacOS in Safari on 8GB RAM Macbook Air m1, after ~20 seconds of gameplay, the page gets reloaded to main menu with the message "This webpage was reloaded because it was using significant memory."
I will test on desktop but you thought yo let you know.
Tthanks for taking a look.
I'm memory leaking? jeez, that's embarrassing. It's probably either too many SFX going off or the signals not being properly disconnected. or maybe something else.
A completely different approach to the theme! Loved your sound efects!
Thanks for playing my game and leaving a nice comment. It was fun doing the SFX with my mouf and whatever was laying around. The list of audio functions that I had was probably too much. Next time I need to parameterize them. Good luck on your submission and I'll play and rate it back ASAP.
