So bad you got sick during the jam! I loved the drawings and the animation. Maybe you’ll find the motivation to work on this again? I’d love to see what you can do with it!

Anyway, congrats for submitting something.

thank you for the encouragement! I hope to pick it back again soon! I'll let you know if that turns out to be the case!

Oof, getting covid in the middle of the game jam is rough. Luckily I'm vaccinated and even still I don't even leave the house (which now that I think about it I don't even know which is worse, hahaha). You had everything so well animated, the game looked very charming, not gonna lie. Maybe it will turn into an awesome game once you finish it, but for what you finished, you did a pretty good job!

Developer(+1)

haha thanks!

I am also vaccinated, so thankfully I haven't suffered too much these past few days.

It is a hard thing to decide. Maybe a balance of the two? I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Thanks again for the support and encouragement! Have a good one!

The sprites and animations are lovely and full of life. I also like the humour :)

Developer

hehe, thank you!
I find that is the only way to deal with game_dev some times XD

Love the art - the character design and animation is just great and so cute and well made! The grass wobble animation when you walk through it is very satisfying too haha. Good music choice as well.

Sorry to hear that you got sick but I can really feel the potential and the ideas here. Very unique style and humor, keep it up. You have one more follower anyway.

Thanks for dropping by in Twitter, Youtube, like everywhere! I am honoured!
Huge respect for your work, I hope to manage to communicate with my players as good as you did with your game.

I have to say, I was so surprised the grass came out as good.

I was doing side by side animations, on top of some of my old ones, and it was so weird how cool it felt when testing just once.

Glad I'm not the only one that finds this satisfying XD

The animations are beautiful! I also gotta +1 the eye smear frame, so great. Fun music too. Side note, your page and text said to use WASD but only arrow keys worked for me. I can tell there were more ideas and so sorry to hear you got sick, priority deffo is getting well and being safe. But anyways I can’t help myself, I had ideas of things like the frog on your head helping you get to other places. Maybe its tongue latches onto walls? or maybe only the frog can pick up certain messes, but they get “full” after awhile so you have to be strategic where you use them? And then different challenges of maybe picking up some types of “mess” causes other messes, so it’s more a matter of finding the right sequence (vs the other way of making it a challenge is tp put a timeout or something like that, would be a different vibe/direction).

Developer

wow! Such a focused comment! You got it spot on, my idea was about sequencing your layers/strata above your head. I wanted in the prototype to showcase that, but could only pull of the main mechanic in time.
Thank you, might have disabled the WASD by accident XD

Regarding the ideas, you are spot on! I want to make this as a metroidvania, where different creatures will work as different lock/keys.
The idea is to use micro-environments on you head, to lure in creatures that you can move to the correct location. The frog would be able to remove clouds of wasps or pesky flies (below is a 2017 drawing you have unlocked YEAY!).
But I had never thought of the tongue idea sticking to walls! Thanks again!

I love the frog walk animation. The smears on the frog eyes are to die for.

Developer(+1)

XD thank you so much for the support!
But I disagree. Its the crying hamster tears that are to die for!

Looks very promising for what was there! Very alive Sprite animation, colours and sound to go with it.
