I love the concept, I love that between the music and the visuals you managed to make a creepy atmosphere, and I love that you made an RPG that functions for a game jam! This is great work, it would be great to see what happens if you spend more time with it!

Very cool game, good art, ran well; I  was very excited by the upgrade system. I kinda stuck to using the same dice, I would have liked more info on what my opponents are up to so I could change up my strategy more .

Addictive! Opponents apparently have protection, because when I have to deal 4 damage, only 3 or even 2 are dealt. I could not defeat the snake girl, I spent a lot of attempts. There should be a fountain and three upgrades before the snake girl, two upgrades are too few. The game is hard, but in the right way. I was very pleased! Well done!

I like this game.  Although the idea is not brand new, the execution still is fun to play!

The info button for the dice is sometimes hard to activate and I recommend to have a broader overview on the map.  But given the two days time, this is probably something for the next version.

I get some Undertale vibe from the design of the combat :-)

I feel like there is no use for the yellow dice compared to the green one, in the worst case, green does nothing, in the worst case yellow removes your attack. Also, for me the sword on the map was very difficult to see but that's easy to fix.

Nice entry, good job!

Thank you! we pulled inspo from Undertale and Earthbound :)

We agree, that balancing was one of the last things we did and we ran out of time, the yellow die is by far the worst dice, hopefully, in a future version, we will add more types of dice and make the multiplier dice more viable.

Heck ya, another dice builder! I enjoyed the upgrade aspect of it, would be interesting if you could collect more dice too. I also appreciate that it's apparently a sequel...

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

The sequel thing is actually just a joke. When we were deciding what to name it we kept throwing out names like Monopoly 2 and Inscryption 2, but we decided to name it after the final boss and keep the 2 just for kicks. :)

Lol, I figured after I searched for the OG Goat Man on here. Maybe for the next jam you can do Goat Man Origins.

Developer(+2)

either that or we'll double down and make goat man 2 2

Really fun game! Reminds of D&D! (And I love them)

Fun top-down shooter! Protect the dice from bad guys

Very cool pixel graphics! I think the yellow die is underpowered because it can actually make your attack worse, while the other dice always benefit you or at least do nothing, so I found myself rarely using yellow.
Also I think it shouldn't let you roll the dice without selecting 3.
Nevertheless I enjoyed your game even though I always died to the serpent.

I really liked the way the dice looked. I also loved how upgrading the dice changed the number of faces (d4 to a d6).

I did find that most of the time the yellow dice felt like it wasn't doing anything. The difficulty ramped up quite fast too - I was unable to one of the enemies as it has way too much health and I was only doing 1 damage. My run was ended when I accidently rolled no dice too.

Apart from some minor balance issues, this is a really good concept. The problems stem from the random nature of the gameplay but since that was the theme, it's okay that its like that.

Great job!

Really enjoyable game with nice design! The difficulty curve ramps up a lot though, quickly going from 3 HP to 30 HP enemies.

Ambitious project, that could be scaled into a proper game.

The enemies art style is very intriguing and the core mechanic works pretty well.

The map feels very raw and could have benefitted from more polishing.

The beginning is very slow, and the dice are too unforgiving, most of the time the turn outcome is very underwhelming and flat.

Overall the progress is very good for a 48h game. Well done.

I found out that the red and blue combo are really strong. So I just roll it with the stun combo. Pretty great concept game play.

I like it it´s original

Super ambitious and fun concept, and the look and feel is just awesome :)

I really liked the aesthetic of the game. It fits the gameplay and makes it all comes together. I did find myself rolling the same three dice after a while. I didn't roll a stun once after using green 10-15 times, so I gave up and rolled red, blue, and yellow for the rest of the time. Overall, a really fun and interesting game!
