Really good idea, although controls were a bit sluggish it still felt like a very good base for a game!

Very cool and juicy, but the controls are quite difficult to handle.

Still, good job on your game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!!

Those laser effects look really good! Cool idea having the attack patterns be based on the faces. Means each run can be pretty different

Developer

Thank you!
In fact that's one of the few games I've made that I'm (yet) not bored with replaying it haha

love your art style and color tone. it creates a cool atmosphere. the gameplay is actually quite more difficult than i thought, cuz i need to shoot at the front and turn around to dodge the bullets.

and i love your itch page design ;)

Developer

I'm so proud of this page haha
Thank you very much!!

Very nice looking and a cool idea for a boss mechanic
However I found the game a little frustrating with its slow controls. It seems impossible to out-run the lasers if you mess up and roll a 6. Its great that you managed to get so much done in 23 hours though.

Developer

Thank you!!
A great tip for this moment is to get closer to the dice. As it is a circular movement, the distance you travel in a radius closer to the center is way smaller than far from the center in the same given time ;P
But I must agree that a faster ship would be nice as well haha

Pretty good game. I wish that it had more than one boss though.

Developer

Thanks!!
More bosses would be an awesome addition. Maybe other type of dice, or even playing cards? There's a lot of possibilities around there.

Great graphics and well-polished game.

I think the control is ok, as one plays multiple times and will eventually get familiar with the control.
I haven't played higher difficulties because I can barely pass beginner haha.

What I would suggest is that you can increase the control difficulty gradually as the game difficulty increases. For example, at the beginner level, the spacecraft will automatically keep rotating and shooting toward the boss to let the player focus on dodging the attacks instead of multi-tasking. In the next level, the player needs to press to shoot, etc.

You can add multiple dice in a "God" level to increase the difficulty along with an activatable player skill with 1s iFrame and 10s cooldown, to avoid hitting by inevitable laser attacks.

Developer

HAHA two dice at the same time would be insane! I'm definitely trying this out!
And thank you for the feedback! :DD

I really love the art and animations, I wish my spaceship was faster tho

Developer

Thankss!

I like the art and the ambiance. I found the text font difficult to read and the control of the vessel must be more fluid. Anyway, I like playing your game.

Developer

Thank you! I'll be improving on that :P

Fun boss fight!  I like how you incorporated the game jam theme with the dialogue and the boss itself!

Developer

Thank you!
I had a great time writing these dialogues haha

Very pretty and clear visuals.  The ship was really hard to control, but the main mechanics were really solid otherwise.

Thankss!!

I feel like I really suck at aiming at that big dice haha, but still, very unique concept! The game is polished and I like how the the enemy attacks differently based on the dice value.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!!
Making these attacks were the best part in programing for sure haha

Submitted(+1)

Really good game, very polished. I found it very hard in "beginner mode", but then, I'm not good at gaming. Good job on completing such a polished game!

Developer

Thank you!
If you want it, you can try the mode "I'm on a rush" as well. The dice has way less health in this difficulty ;P

Good gameplay, fits with the theme, very good art and the sound is great:) but it’s not easy to keep a straight line, maybe the control should be improved?

Developer(+1)

Thank you!
It seems like I've made the space way to much frictionless haha. I'll be improving on that ;P

Nice gameplay. Love it!

This is an excellent game for the theme! Didn't think about fighting a giant dice god?? With his attacks determined by the face??

Extremely well done presentation here and very creative. The one thing though is at least for me this was is very difficult even on "beginner", and I think a lot of it comes down to the controls. It's like driving a car so it's hard to get it lined up especially when getting shot at or chased by giant laser beams and trying to also angle to not knock the boss over the wrong way. I think it might have been a little easier to get into if this was more like a twin-stick shooter or if the bosses attacks (at least on easy/beginner) were even easier. Or maybe even like an entry area/tutorial to warm up before the boss, like I thought you had to aim with the mouse (the game page mentions shooting with the mouse) but didn't realize not until after I died! Of course I might just be terrible at this.

Still an extremely well done game though! I think this is top notch and deserves to be one of the greats of this game jam! Great work on this!!

Developer

Wow, thank you very much!! :D
A tutorial would for sure improve the game a lot. Thanks for the feedback as well haha

Submitted(+1)

Really cool bossfight, i loved everything but the controls, i just think as a twinstick shooter it would have been even more fun

Developer

Thank you!
A twinstick shooter would be soo fun!! I'd love to implement this some day if I have some free time :,)

nice to hear, i would definetly want to play a twinstick shooter with the quality of this game

Great graphics, nice feel to the game, feels like much more than a Game Jam title.

Developer

Haha wow! Thank you very much! :3
