How does your game fit the theme?
In order to deal damage to enemies you need to create a loop around them (or create a loop around food to fire it as a bullet at the enemies). This gives some trade offs of things like whether to loop something or to use it to grow your length. In addition looping is tied into the story (with things such as the ending cutscene)

(Optional) What would you like to be called if GMTK features your game?

Incredible polish and feel!! One of the most fun entries that hooked me into playing more and more. My first playthrough ended abruptly though as I hit a fire on the border of the map that bumped me out of the map, and then I watched myself take more and more damage as I never re-entered the map, getting more bumped off until my death. Maybe I should have realized that could happen but as a player I was sad to lose in a way I didn't expect to. The slow death made it feel like I was supposed to be able to get back on the board somehow but couldn't.

But I thought I would just share that player experience because it was truthfully the only upsetting moment in a game that I had a BLAST getting stronger in and growing larger and larger. Amazing job :)

Classic concept, great gameplay twist!

A really good game, but far TOO PUNISHING! You die too fast for what you need to get back to where you started, and nothing is saved between runs!

Another snake game. I liked how unlike in many others I didn't immediately die from hitting a wall. But, when I left the starting area and ventured off into the world I immediately crashed into a wall and died and that was inconsistent with how walls worked before.

Yeah theres some bugs with the restart system. You ran into one of them I believe where the damage stacks up after restarting

Fixes on a refresh

I LOVED this one! >:DDD
I think this was the first of the jam games that I played until the end!!👌🔥🔥

A fun take on the snake games, although the recoil was very harsh (bumped me out of the map, insta killing me). Even so, the game looks nice and plays smooth!

Very polished and fun. The tutorial is detailed and clear. Good one guys!

It was expected to see some snake games with a "loop" theme but I never expected to play such a fun one!

I'm really not found of snake but your version is a delight. It's easy to understand, harder to master. Sprites look good and the project feels very polished overall.

I enjoyed quite a lot the fact that you have to loop around things to trigger the actions, instead of trying not to bite your own tail. It make the game deeply different from the original snake and make it way more fun imho.

While writing, I'm thinking that it could be a very decent base for a full game. With more levels and mechanics.

Bonus compliment: I love the cover artwork! It's perfect

How do you make Snake interesting again? Slap an upgrade system and an innovative fighting mechanic. Well done, I really enjoyed this!

Pretty fun concept and execution. I did encounter a bug, which went offscreen when I got pushed and was stuck.

This game is super fun   holyyy .  I got sad   when there   wasn't   another level   for me to consume   & I   reached the end   lol.   There   was   a   couple   of   times   the   mobs   wombo   combo'd   me   &   it   was hard   to   regain   control   so   I   agree  with  the   people   suggesting   you   add   a   few more   I-frames   after   taking   damage.   Excellent   job   overall!!!

Really awesome game, super polished!!! Was a bit tricky and a little frustrating when you would hit an enemy and get thrown into a combo of enemy damage, maybe a couple i frames would be nice rather being knocked into potentially more danger. The visuals are incredible!!! Sometimes it wasn't clear from the sprites what objects would and wouldn't hurt you, some look like food and damage you, others look like obstacles and don't. The roguelike mechanics were great. Overall good job!!

Great! Very easy to understand. Impressive polish for a game jam project.

Great game with potential to be a fully fledged release.  Very well done!

The only problem I had was when enemies started comboing me 5-10 times in a row, which just pushed me fully outside the current stage I was in. It happened in both runs I got to the wyrm. So maybe a different algorithm for how being hit is handled would be nice, like having a second of invincibility frames.

Very polished game, and really like how cohesive all the elements were from artwork to UI and music and sound effects! It really holds together overall as a professional-feeling game, especially the inclusion of a tutorial. And it’s even skippable!

Picking up items and getting health bonuses and things was very satisfying, and leveling up to a ‘new area’ and destroying the smaller old area was super-satisfying. I kept running into bugs unluckily with the bosses (the knight and then the dragon), so it ended my playtime early since it was hard to progress. But I thought the core loop was pretty satisfying, even if I wasn’t very good at it.

Fun game! And it’s so well-made and polished—feels super professional!

Sleek, polished, and professional--a clever twist on an arcade classic. The progression is immensely satisfying, and that name! Great job, you guys!

Fun twist on classic snake! The recoil after hitting someone was a bit jarring and felt like I got stun locked with no way out sometimes, but other than that I enjoyed it quite a bit!

I was very pleasantly surprised when the world expanded and I could eat everything that was previously holding me back, very satisfying, great design!
