How does your game fit the theme?
The map you play tower defence on gets bigger and bigger, so your defence has to be build to be scaled and ripped apart.

Ah, man moving and changing the world for a TD game makes things so hard to plan 😭. It’s fun though and well-polished.
Glad you enjoyed it! I'm trying to keep the player from feeling to sure and overpowered.
Really nice game as always :) The growing terrain was a great idea. I found it hard to build up shinies though, it would be nice if there were "easy rounds" to help build up funds. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for checking it out! I see you played I overscoped last year as well, glad you're coming back. I will made a tiny post jam patch as soon as the rating period is over to adress some balancing issues, one is to make towers drop 50% of their worth when destroyed in order to make it more forgiving.
Thank you so much for the stream submission! This was one of my favs!
Mixing up the tower defense concept by moving the towers and making more space is such a great idea! I wish there were more TDs that use this concept :)
Thanks! Your reaction was the last bit of motivation and affirmation I needed in order to push on with a steam release. I'll definetely lean into the strengths of the earthquake system, maybe even doing even more things differentely from other TD (like not having an upgrade system, but something more interesting instead). I've got so manu ideas, this is gonna be fun! My hopes are to get a steam page up before the results come in!
Go for it! It's a long way for sure, but this has the potential! Wishing you the best :)
Game seems like anti-lizard propaganda :p still was really well done and interesting mechanic to make the island grow, well done!
Oh damn, I would've taken other desicions if I knew that a LiZZarD_Ros would play my game. (thanks for playing!)
I really love the art. The concept of an evolving tower defense map keeps the level fresh! Having to adjust to the changing map is a cool mechanic.
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it
woooow, this is so cool and charming!
Really impressive solid gameplay as well! favorite so far!
I'm really happy you liked it!
Fun little TD! Pretty brutal though, those red lizards are the bane of my existance :D
Controls feel a little clunky. I like that you can build stuff when the game is in progress, but I wish I could just keep walking with the build menu open and it would then update for that tile, for instance.
I really like the earthquake mechanic for expanding the map, it adds a lot of variety and randomness that can save or ruin your tower setup in one go. It keeps things fresh in a genre that is usually easily solved. Would also love to see a few more ally types just to spice things up a bit more.
Good stuff :D
Hey, thanks for playing and the feedback! I understand that you want to be able to move and place towers at the same time, but the reason it works like this was cause I wanted to be able to play the game without using the mouse (so A/D is for selecting towers, space to confirm, E to cancel). Also I felt like since the player is a character and not just a all seeing god I wanted to make sure the player has to move around to place the towers and such.
Glad you liked the earthquake mechanic! It was actually the idea of the earthquake that spark the entire project. I got this image in my head of how a grid could be split up like that. Then after a bit of thinking I realized a tower defence would be the perfect fit. (First I was thinking like automation games where earthquakes would split up your production lines)
Thanks again!
Really nice little tower defence, I really liked the art and the simplicity of the music.
Unfortunately I lost my squirrel early :(.
Would be very grateful if you tried our game!
Thanks for playing! Yeah, losing a tower is currently a bit to unforgiving, will make it so a killed tower drops 50% of it's worth in a later update
Fun little tower defense ! Well done
Thanks! Glad you liked it
Ok, Mom, ok. What a lovely experience. I liked having the control over when the level started, and the changing map really helps keep it feeling fresh even when starting again. I found it a little confusing working out where the lizards go initially but did better after the first try!
Thanks! I'm glad you gave it multiple tries, I know the game is on the difficult side
I could lost hours of my life in this game....
Thanks for playing! Who knows, you may be able to if I make a full release >:D
Cool premise! I really liked how the map expanded, the animations and sound design looked very professional.
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
Very fun concept. The game is polished, and I love the art style and story. There are some balancing issues, but overall, it's a great game.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it. I should've put more time to balancing but oh well. Will do a patch right when the voting is over to improve the balancing and fix a couple of bugs
"OK, MOM!" That made me genuinely laugh out loud!
Apart from that, this is one well-polished game with quite the difficulty spike! I love the art style, amazing pixel art and the twist with the growing island is really nice!
I am however a bit confused by the lizards' pathfinding. They attacked my squirrels on multiple occasions, when they would have had a path to the eggs.
Glad you liked my little button texture! I know the game is a bit on the hard side, but that makes strategy more important. The red lizard will always attack towers, just to keep you on your toes. A tip there is to use shells to both block them and make a longer path, but they are also good bait for the red ones. Thanks for playing!
When I playtested it some more now I noticed what you were talking about, the pathfinding seems indeed a bit broken sadly ;(
Very cool game! Really feels fleshed out. The difficulty scaling jumped up pretty quickly for me but otherwise very fun!
Thanks for playing! I wish I had put more time towards balancing. A tip is to use the shells to create rather long paths for the lizards, they also work as a distraction for the red ones.
Game is beatable!
Be active during lizard waves: place, move, and fight (killing a lizard allows you to pick up silver, use it to build)!
It is often better to wait with actions until after the earthquake - if done in time.
I really like the idea of the earthquakes changing the arena, but it feels like it didn't have that much of an impact on the actual strategy other than gaining more spots to place towers. I think you should experiment with the type of tiles that are added to the arena, or make the earthquakes a bit more impactful, there's probably a lot you can do here! I do like the pixel art too, this game does have its charm, good work :3
Thank you for playing and the feedback! I hope you didn't miss being able to move towers after placing since that can help with the stategic planning.
I wanted to add more tiles like mud (making the enemies slower), along with so much more things to deepen the strategy. Like upgrades, both to the tower and player, climbing enemies, line of sight with some turrets being able to shoot over them, AoE towers... etc. Will probably end up making this a full release in the coming year so will have time to implement such things then!
Awsome game as always! ;)
Thanks! :D
There is a lot of polish here, I loved the humour, the art style is super nice and I really enjoyed the overall idea. Some line from the mom killed me xD
Thanks for playing! Hope the inevitable bugs weren't in the way too much. P.S. I promise no squirrels were harmed in the making of this game
I can't believe all this was made by one person its such a good looking game! I really liked the little bit of dialogue with the mom bird too, it just adds that extra layer of polish and personality.
Thank you! I had more plans for adding personality with letting enemies have first time voicelines and such, but that had to be dropped. Also, why crunch for two days when you can crunch for four am I right!?
Another year, Another way I get impressed. I really liked the concept and artstyle itself, the only thing that I would add is a way to indicate how many lizards each wave would have. But all in all well Done!
Thanks for playing! Many of the art assets took like three attempts to get right. Will fix a proper wave indicator later, but managed to sneak one in during the extra hour grace period (although it is kinda bugged sometimes, so I guess that's what I get for adding features last minute)
