Ooo yay I always wanted to play one of these kind of games! The art is super cute and the controls feel nice! I think one thing that would make the game even better is placement guides so I know where the piece is going to fall easier. I like that there’s no time pressure and I can slowly build as wide a base as I like. Overall a very charming and fun game! Great work!
Great idea. The blocks have a fun design. Sometimes the blocks don't fall in the same place they are supposed to and the rapid camera movements are a bit dizzying, but still a great submission.
Simple but cool idea. Love the bricks style. BRICKS WILL CONQUER THE WORLD!
A simple idea but a lot of fun! We tried doing something similar at first but failed due to physics engine issues. Good job!
Fun game ! The music is pretty relaxing. There seems to be a bug when you rotate a piece, it doesn't seem to be dropped from the same spot, this makes it a little more difficult than it should be
Fun but simple game. Some music would help it stand out.
The camera bouncing is little jarring but other than that, good submission.
Thanks! We did make some music but it seems not to play in some browsers
cool game but I dont like the camera movment
Thanks! We will probably revisit this after the jam, and make the camera smoother and add some other quality of life improvements!
Your game looks awesome, going to check it now!
Building your tower to the moon the right way can be really... tricky...
Fun game and nice artwork! Great job!
Reading the other reviews I wish there was a mini tutorial at the beginning to let you know that you can rotate pieces etc. The camera jumping every time you place a block was a little hard to sit through but otherwise its a cute little game
Me and my girlfriend played that for more than half an hour so .... mission completed.... addictive , and fun! unfortunatelly there is a little bug... .when you rotate the components, there is an offset when dropping the piece, wich is really annoying. Overall is a fun game...
Thanks!
yeah we know the blocks are offset when you drop them, ill try to make a post jam version without that rotation bug
This is a game from my childhood! It's very interesting to build a strategy while constructing buildings. You end up with unusual shapes. Good job!
Thank you! We took some (cough cough) inspiration from a very popular game at first, but wanted to give it our own twist and tought, with different shapes (well... some different shapes) and a story plus a win condition.
I like the look of this a lot :) Would be very suitable for mobile imo and could definately be a good app game
Thanks! We might make it a mobile game with all the ppl asking for it lol
Didn't realize you could scroll before reading the comments here => should definitely have a mini tutorial/ tip text somewhere.
Really like the theme you were going for. Wish there was one additional element to spice up the game ( special blocks, wind gusts etc.)
edit: Also really like the the title image and your itch layout (though it reads "Stars to the Build" at first glance lol)
Thanks! ig you shouldnt always expect ppl to read the description... adding special blocks sounds pretty interesting actually.
This was an idea I had floating around for the game jam, but I had a difficult time thinking about how to make it a game. I thought you did a great job on this and made it fun to play.
I like the style of this game, rotating the blocks can be a bit finicky though. I think you should make a few adjustments to it to polish it up a bit. I think it would also be cool if you had like different towers or shapes you had to place the blocks in, it would add more challenge. I think this would make a nice little mobile game you'd play while on the train or something if it was fleshed out or explored a bit more. Nicely done :)
I think I would have liked to know what the next blog is to plan a bit, otherwise very cozy fun!
Nice style. The rotation is a little bit off though, also the pieces seems to sometimes move / offset to the right.
Very pretty and pleasing to look at. It was pretty exciting to see if I could keep the tower from collapsing. My ony feedback Is I think the rotation feature is a lil wonky. For whatever reason it feels like there might be an offset or something.
really nice work!
Looks really good. Reminds me of an old game I had on my phone way back, thank you for this ^^ :)
