My time: 1:37

Really cool platformer and great page design!

If I had to give criticism, I'd say there isn't much reason not to keep the light on all the time, at least in my experience. A lot of the blocks are either visible in both modes or visible only in the light - not many that are visible only in the dark (at least not enough to prevent me from quickly memorizing their locations before I get near them).

I still really enjoyed my time with it though!

Cute visuals and sound effects!

Very fun, reminds me of Pink Panther Pinkadelic Pursuit!

Really fun open-ended platformer! The grappling mechanic was really satisfying to use.

Satisfying gameplay and great visuals. I also love the way you handled the risk part of the theme!

What a fantastic submission! It's simple on paper but very addictive. The visuals and sounds are really good too.

Great visuals and sound effects! I admit the game loop confused me a little, but it's a great example of a risk-reward scenario.

I really liked the 3D pixelated visuals! The concept sure is.. something lol.

A cool risk-reward mechanic accompanied by a satisfying gameplay loop. Very fun!

Very satisfying gameplay loop - lots of movement, sound and general feedback!

I loved the voiceover, added a real charm to the experience!

We're working on another OMA update as we speak, and we always participate in the larger gamejams whenever we can!

I'll be sure to check out that game of yours when it drops, sounds cool.

A very original idea with a fantastic execution! The gameplay loop is simple to understand, yet very polished and addictive! I really enjoyed my time with this game.

I'd like to point out the menu controls that feel good to navigate with either a keyboard or a mouse - it's one of those details that really improve the overall experience.

Great attention to detail - loved the little story and screen transitions! Enjoyed the fact that unlike our game, your actions aren't set in stone and you can change history after the fact. Recording your actions post-mortem is a fascinating idea too. Overall a fantastic puzzle game!

Thanks for the kind words! You're totally right about the difficulty, we're currently working on new levels but we should try to rebalance old ones while we're at it.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and ratings - #21 in Enjoyment is a feat we could've never dreamed of! We're released a post-jam QoL update: https://zedgame.itch.io/one-man-army/devlog/1007240/update-11-post-jam-quality-o...

If you want to check out the original jam version, look for version 1.0 in the downloads section.

:P

Good call on the menus - while we tried highlighting the button you'd generally want to press to continue, I can see how the interface could be handled more clearly.

The speed is a tricky thing, since a faster game would be less predictable and therefore harder to design puzzles for, but I understand the sentiment.

That was definitely planned, but more important issues cropped up at the time!

Meaty and exciting gameplay! Cool name as well :))

What's interesting is while our ideas were similar at heart, you  made past clones an advantage, while we made them a necessity. Your execution makes the game have an interesting balance system, where you can eventually push through, no matter the skill level, which is really cool.

The concept is quite simple but really addictive! Great music too, big fan. Managed to get 14.94.

Fascinating gameplay loop, the game is more difficult than it initially looks!

Stunning art, I also love how the music evolves over time!

Good looking and sounding, punchy and satisfying to play, a wonderful entry all around!

Simple but sweet. Really good for a first published game!

Not my cup of tea but it's an interesting concept that was really well executed!

I love the storytelling, really made me push forward!

Thanks for the kind words! We have an update cooking up that fixes a lot of graphical, performance and balancing issues, though we're busy with other things at the moment.

I love it! Intuitive and feels real good to play! I found it fascinating how well mouse aiming works with this perspective.

Cool aesthetics and a simple yet challenging gameplay loop!

A simple idea but a lot of fun! We tried doing something similar at first but failed due to physics engine issues. Good job!

Simple but fun! This could work really well as a mobile game!

Very creative and overall fun! My biggest gripes were the battery mechanic (wasn't sure what influenced it and it felt a bit like an arbitrary time limit) and the controls (WASD without mouse movement feels weird, I'd take either WASD+mouse or arrows+QE), but I can see this becoming a real fun game!

Very polished; great artstyle and original gameplay!

A great idea and really polished in execution! Every mechanic is cleanly explained and intuitive.
