A cool idea! Sadly, the robots didn't try too hard, and got themselves stuck pretty quickly. But with a little more time to iron out the AI, and maybe a quicker way to get to your desired trap, this game could be a ton of fun!
It did feel cool trying to outsmart the AI - watching it jump in place to dodge a sawblade, for example, was really neat. And the predictable, rythmic timing of their movements really helped sell it for me.
i wasn't able to get very far because the robots softlocked themselves into a position where i couldn't hit them with anything, but it's an interesting concept. the controls were a little finnicky; in bigger levels, it was hard to get to a certain trap because of the sheer amount of them, and there wasn't any feedback for when you landed a hit or not. but a very interesting concept that could go a long way with some better execution :)
Such a well rounded idea. The game seems sow relaxed and simple, but damn if I was not taking thing in it seriously, mashing the swap button, trying to maximize my killing potential. Great job creating such a compelling gameplay =)
Thanks for playing! I find it funny that the swap button made it more intense!
Interesting idea, though I did find it hard to play. I think being able to select a specific trap to take control of would be nice, instead of having to mash c to get to the right one, then inevitably pressing it one too many times and having to do it all over again. It would also be nice if it was more obvious that you had killed the robot, since there's text saying "you win" but the robot is still happily jumping around. Other than that, I liked the art and the sound effects, and I think given time to flesh out the levels and add some more it could be quite fun to play!
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the art, i'll be noting to add animations for the robot!
Had a small heart attack at the evil robot buzzing noise lol. Aside from that, fun little game!
The idea itself is nice, it's just a shame the guy doesn't die directly after being wounded...
The principle is cool and I think that with a bigger team it would have been possible to go much further! A promising game
At first, I thought I was bugged because nothing was happening... Only to realize that that game was not properly clicked in. Go figure. It's a rather short experience that could have room for expansion...
I like this game, this idea was awesome
Congrats! :)
Love the Idea!!! although the controller is a bit janky. I love the idea of assigning a number to the trap so we can control it simultaneously. Overall, love it!
It took a while to understand that I was controlling the spikes/traps to kill the monster. First run I just won mashing buttons. I didn't even realize I was killing the bots with the spikes. The level continues for a bit even after the bots are killed which was confusing. I would recommend adding death animations(like the bots exploding) to indicate that they died.
Cool concept though. Can see this working well with some polish.
Haha, i made the initial levels possible with little intervention so it wouldn't be too hard! Thanks for the suggestion to add a death animation!
Neat concept, could certainly be really good with a bit more polish.
Thanks for playing!
Neat idea, but a bit short. Also, I wish you could switch back and forth between traps though, rather than having to cycle through all of them again if you press the button one too many times. Good job though!
Thanks for the suggestion! Hope you'll keep an eye out for an update after the jam!
Really cool idea. However, it’s kinda a pain to switch to the trap you want. Also, at some parts the robot just stops forever. I really enjoyed the game though.
Glad you enjoyed it! The robot can softlock itself after a while which can get annoying.
Really good idea, but then suddenly it’s the end of the game!
Keen to play again later if you decide to expand further on this after the jam’s done. With the number of traps laid out in the last couple of levels, it might be nice to have a second swap button so that we can go next/back rather than having to cycle through all the traps again.
Thanks for playing and for your suggestion! I do see a lot of people complaining about the switching controls, which i'll try to fix on an update after the jam!
Really cool concept, I would love to see the idea expanded even more.
Thanks for playing!
I really liked the idea, would be great with more levels with just a little bit more depth.
Thanks for playing! Keep an eye out for a post-jam build in the near future!
The idea is pretty cool. The control was a bit bitter.
The first alarm sound scared the crap outta me. hahaha
I should have chosen better controls XD. Guess i'm not the only one that got scared from the audio!
Fun when it works, but doesn't consistently work. Controls are fiddly.
I am glad you enjoyed the *intended* experience. However i am very sorry that the controls and such hindered you from playing the game. Thanks for the comment!
It was a really cool idea however I simply couldn't get past the level where it clones itself as the would just softlock themselves. I wish you at least had a way to restart the individual level so I didn't need to replay the entire game up to that point to retry
The robot is a bit dumb! I was not at all anticipating how easy it could softlock itself. Thanks for your suggestion, i'll be using them for a post-jam build in the near future!
i really liked the idea but i think you could've done more in two days, like a few more levels or maybe a better artstyle, but overall i enjoyed it
Thanks for your comment! I am glad you enjoyed the experience, although i wasn't able to maximize work in two days, i hope it is at least presentable along with the mechanics.
