How does your game fit the theme?
The role are reversed when instead of playing as the knight, the one who will play the adventure game, who will face danger, you play as the shop keeper, selling weapons to the knights to make them face danger.

The idea is interesting. If I understood correctly, if I don't to the betting board the next knight takes a really long time to come up, right?
The graphics are nice, although there seems to be something with the roof, the borders near the ceiling keep on changing colors as if the sun goes through, just a minor thing though.
The music is good but there could be some more sound effects.
Are there any differences in the weapons I sell to the knights? I didn't see any difference between selling a spear or a halberd. Also, it took a while until I managed to enable picking some weapons, it seems their trigger area is a bit odd.
Overall an interesting shop management with neat visuals.
Thanks for your review! and yes you need to bet before a new knight come, but in the bet panel you can choose to not bet.yeah the roof problem was a problem with the post process, we still are tying ot find why the problem is still here, we sadly didn't had time for the other sound effect like the door, step etc... and yes every weapons have a luck multiplier to the knight base luck, so some weapons make the luck even worse, or sometime make the luck better
thanks !
I like the concept behind the game, but at the moment the gameplay feels rather lacking with very little player input. I love shop management games though, so if this was expanded upon in the future I wouldn't complain!
Thanks a lot ! yeah we didn't had time to give the player more thing to do but sadly didn't had the time in the 48hours, but we will still work on it after the jam!
Cool game. Great graphics. Nice ideas. Simple but nice for a Jam with an interesting loop. A little mor feedback would be nice and some juice. Especially when winning. Liked it.
thanks! we try giving hte player more thing to do than just betting adn choosing weapons but didn't had time sadly
As if life in the middle ages wasn't hard enough, my guy now also has to live with a crippling gambling addiction, poor soul.
Fun take on the theme!
Sad, man can loose all of his hard earned gold on the incompetence of his client haha, thanks!
I played RPG Shopkeeper Simulator which takes a similar approach, but in a more funny way. Was wondering if someone create a proper shopkeeper simulation game, and now I found this game. Loved it!
Just a minor thing I found when playing the game, I keep trying to press E to the customer when I trying to sell stuff, however, I'm supposed to click the box on the counter. I hope that clicking the customer will work as well.
thanks a lot! yeah we will work on the selling system more on the full version haha
Cool game, really fun to play. Great job!
thanks a lot!
Hey again, it's me ! The guy from Twitch with the silly AMD card causing the stream to lag. I just wanted to say I played it offline and it's really a nice take on the theme. I remember from ages back there was a minigame in Digimon World (PS1) that had similar mechanics (minus the gambling). I really appreciate you making this in only 48 hours. The only thing I find lacking a little bit is the UI, there's not that much feedback going on (it took me a while to figure out I had picked up a weapon at all). However, all in all I'm quite satisfied with details, for example, I love the decision to put a small window up front so you can see the knights coming in. And as future perspective (which made me rate you quite high in presentation) : with the current revolution in AI, this is the type of game you could hook up to ChatGPT / a voice generator and have a solid gold game in your hands :) well done, properly executed and allows to dream :)
Thanks a lot! glad you like it! we sadly didn't had time to integrate the tutorial but it will be there in the full release after the jam, and yeah the room was made by our fantastic 3d artist that made a really great job with graphics, model and ambient in general in the game. And yeah it's a great idea! i know someone put Chat-GPT in minecraft on Vilager so why not make something like that in the game. Thanks a lot for your review!
This was pretty fun! Always nice to see another unreal game. I liked the general idea of giving your customers the fitting item, although as it is right now you basically just had to wait for them to explicitly say what weapon type they need - maybe instead you could have had them say what kind of quest they are going on and then you have to determine what would be the fitting equipment to add a bit of challenge to that part.
I liked that you could also do something else with your money, but I think it would have been cool to have some influence on what happens. Maybe some kind of mini game, some way to directly influence the outcome of the fight, I am not sure what would fit best but I mostly waited for bets with a chance above 50% and avoided the others, but there was not much more strategy to it than that. The waiting times between customers also felt a bit long sometimes as there was not much to do in between.
It would have also probably added a bit to the mood if you had picked out a fitting font, as that stuck out from the rest of the game. Other than that I liked the general look of the game and I also think that the music fit very well. Keep it up, well done! :)
Thanks ! Yeah we had the idea to put something different for the weapon the knight wanted but didn't had the time to implemented it, else yeah we will certainly do that for the full release !
Cool game, I liked the whole concept. It reminded me of being the blacksmith from Skyrim or something haha. Nice job!
thanks a lot!
Amazing graphics! I enjoyed very much the gameplay. I liked your interpretation of the theme. Well done.
Thanks a lot! our 3d artist made a really great jobs on the game look!
Nice!
Pretty OK game. I like the idea of using gambling as an extra way to earn more money instead of just selling weapons.
However, the game suffers a lot from performance issues, making it a quite frustrated experience.
Some nice addition to the game would be adding a crosshair to know where you are pointing and having the bet section as a sort of machine in front of the player’s table instead of just a poster to make it more clear what the player’s going to do.
Overall, nice game.
Hey, thanks a lot for your review, It's a common issue for unreal game to suffer bad performance, we didn't had the time to do the proper check before uploading sadly, and yes we we're supposed to add a crosshair but we didn't had time since it's was to late. and It's a good idea for the bet! We didn't had a lot of idea on how to implemente it other that with a poster, we will certainly do that in the futur after the jam. thanks!
Cool game, presentation is nice and the concept is a neat idea!
Thanks! we tried to really work on graphics and presentation!
Solid game!!! I made sure to practice my repeated NPC lines when someone walked in. :D
Thanks a lot!
Surprisingly fun game. The controls could maybe be improved a bit. Graphics were good and music fit well.
thanks a lot!
Really fun game! Too bad there was only 1 customer and after that there were no more knights, The game didn't run very well either. That's though to be expected because of Unreal Engine. Fun idea, good execution and classic graphics. (I love oldScool Runescape looking grapics)
Thanks! you need to go bet before other knight come, you bet on the right of the store on a betting sign with dice, and yeah the game don't run well cause of unreal, we will work on that after the jam!
Great to hear that you are going to contenue on the project! Good luck! I will try bet and see how it goes :?
Unfortunately for me my laptop struggles a lot running unreal engine games. It was smth like 5fps and basically unplayable. But the game looked really good(well it's unreal engine) and I like your idea so I am gonna rate based on those.
Thanks! yeah unreal as some problem on some computer, we didn't had those problem in dev and never enountered that problem before so we didn't know, thanks for your rate!
Well that's because my pc sucks. I have integrated gpu. I am sure with a normal gpu others can run the game
The graphics are excellent and the game is really nice. No complaints at all
Thanks a lot! we tried giving our best in the graphics haha!
This game graphically looks really nice, a bit too much since it does not run well. The gameplay could do with a bit more challenge or something more to do than just betting once till the next knight comes. Maybe a knight could tell a riddle or be more unclear about what they want and it's up to your expertise to figure out what weapon they are asking for.
Note this game requests for internet access, not sure why it would need internet access. Please remove that request if you can and if you're not using it, since it indicates something insecure and the possibility of sending the player's data online.
Thanks! it's a common issue with unreal that the game don't play well on certain computer, i still don't know why, and yes this was an idea we had but couldn't implemented in the 48hours, and yes it require internet access for unknow reason, i think i didn't change from "development" package when i exported it, we will change that after the jams end
Cool idea. I think it could use some more variety in different weapon types and different incentives to sell specific weapons over others, like maybe the knight could say something about the battle and you'd have to rely on your weapon expertise to know which is the best weapon to use. Just a suggestion for expanding it though. Was pretty fun for what it is, and I like the graphics and music.
Hey thanks! the knight was supposed to have a preffered weapons who had to boost his luck for the betting part and more informations about the fight but we couldn't made it in the 48hours
