How we all wish sometimes we could just do that...without burning the food. :D

the game idea is really good,
but the controls are really hard, can be improved to make game for attractive.
overall, in 48hrs best thing!!
so cute and derpy haha. Definitely did not understand what to do the first time, the recipe UI looked like tables I could interact with at first. But was able to play to a score of 5 and it was fun! An interaction hint/indicator could be really helpful, but nice jam submission overall!
Swell game, but controls similar to overcooked I'm pretty sure so that's minus two stars for creativity ig, would love to give it 15/15, but 13/15 isn't half bad (literally). Wish there were more levels :o also oniyyon :) and also more combat in a full version?? Also WHO did the comic image WHO that was gr8 well done u. Oh yeah and love the game art, the controls, ect. Swell. Maybe add sauces, and some levels you have to, for example, grind your own mustard seeds in a blender, (DIY just a bit more ig) adding more depth as you can choose to risk time doing sauce and patties separately or risk burning the patty or getting the sauce consistency wrong. Even adding Well done, medium rare, and rare as stages and requirements sound like cool ideas. The little chefs add a combat element, which I think you should embrace more in a full game, like garbage boys who run around throwing silverware (speedy), cooks like you have now, chefs who are faster and take more hits, and bosses, which would help distinguish this game from Overcooked a bit more. I dunno but amazing job here. This is a fantastic foundation to build a bigger game on :D fun time playing this too
i love this
and i really want to see it become better
the main things were that i had no idea what to do, i got a piece of food and then the only thing that worked is to put it in the trash lmao.
Then i put food on the plate and somehow it became a different food?
I got it right that i should put the foods in the same order that it tells me, but not on the bread but on the plate (in hindsight its obvious where i should've put it but yeh)
also at first i thought that the hud thingy that shows the order of things is actually part of the environment, and that im somehow being able to go under it.
Also, when making a burger, add a little "you did it!" animation, or transition, and tell the player how well they did it (time, accuracy (how overcooked stuff is etc))
because as of now you do it and there is no reward! You immediately start all over again but with a different recipe, which doesn't feel different than "you failed", you see what i mean?
But its still so cool tho, i give 5 5 4 stars ))
Hi,
First of all thanks for playing!
Second you got some pretty spot-on feedback because I believe all the points you raised is something we came across and/or wanted to address but either forgot or didn't have time for. It would have definitely benefited from a success animation or sound, we noticed it felt weird that you couldn't drop "wrong" food except in the trash, and we wanted to put some sort of tutorial in too.
There is actually a "reward", which is points, but it's not clearly presented and since we messed up the timer (I believe it adds like 100 minutes every 4th level) you never see the end screen and thus your never see your scores! So yeah there's definitely some polish left to do. If we do pick it back up after the jam I also believe there's a few feature we still want to implement, so loads to do still.
Anyway, thanks so much for your feedback and for playing the game! I'm glad you enjoyed it so.
There's so much polish in this! And I love the opening cutscene. This is a really unique take on the theme and most importantly this was so fun to play. It might be helpful to have a sort of indicator (Like a ring or something) around an ingredient you're closest to before you select it; there were a few instances where I wanted lettuce or something but got cheese instead because I might've stood too close to it.
Overall I loved this, probably one of my favourites so far!
The cut scene in the starting was really cool. The game was very well polished and nicely done. I had a lot of fun playing it
Loved the beginning cut scene! My timer broke while I was playing, but that was time. Gave me more time to beat up the chefs and make my own food xD
I really liked the cutscene in the beginning. Role reversed plays in there, "Fine, I'll do it myself!" haha
Fair question. The idea of the reversed roles here is mostly in the context, of course, rather than mechanics. But in terms of gameplay the result is that you have to fight the chefs trying to stop you, introducing some combat. The idea was that there was going to be more ways to sabotage the chef but those fell out of scope.
Pretty funny take on the theme and presentation is nice, but the game could be more interesting. It's very hard to lose as it is and chefs will just stop chasing you right when something is in between you. Having more of a lose condition and maybe some sort of "stealth game" style mechanics around the way chefs move around could make this more fun.
Was a funny replayable game, i wanted to see the idea of having multiples chef making you into a problem

I was confused at the beginning of the game, but then I understood, maybe a tutorial would help your game, but it was very fun!
