great gameboy-esque presentation. really relaxing game that I could easily play for hours. It was also really polished.

Tell me what you think of my entry?

Submitted(+2)

A little clunky to control but I love the gameboy asthetic

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Yea the controls aren't exactly the tightest, we personally chose to go for more floaty controls due the nature of a floating raft.

But we appreciate the feedback none the less! If we are to continue work on it we'll take it to heart for sure!

Loved the Sound and Presentation, but the Controls were hard for me to adapt to. I really like your game, maybe involve WASD for Raft Movement?

Developer

We did initially consider WASD for movement, however through testing we found it more fun to have it bound to the mouse. If we were to develop this further we'd definitely take it up for consideration again for accessibility reasons!

Loved the old-school vibe of this! Felt like my childhood games, in a good way.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the game :D Yeah we tried to dip into the gameboy vibe!

Presentation is excellent and the game is extremely easy to pick up and play (plus, it’s really fun!). Really solid entry!

Very good game. I love the art style - simple yet fitting together nicely. Also the game's idea is kinda similar to mine, where you have to continuously add parts to survive. Your scope is much better for this jam than mine though :D

Good work!

Developer

Thank you! I liked your game too the concept is quite fun!

Very nice game! The palette and pixel art are gorgeous, and the idea plays really well with the theme. It gets more and more fun as you get more raft pieces. Congrats!!! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! :D I'm very happy with how the art turned out, especially the borders and some of the effects. Thank you for playing!

I like how the gathering of parts has almost this risk reward element to it. You wanna shoot it and drive towards it, but if you're too hasty in getting the parts you might damage yourself instead. It's also nice how the smaller your raft is, the easier it is to avoid obstacles. A+

Wish there was something I could do about the crocks, they don't seem to give up or react to shots so getting munched is a bit of an inevitability. Tho it does make getting new parts all the more frantic, which is good.

I've considered a similar idea for my game, but I couldn't quite figure out how to make it fun, so I went with something different. I'm glad someone managed to make such a compelling game about constructing a ship (raft) out of random shapes.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the amazing feedback!

We spent a long while considering whether to make the crocs shootable or not but in the end decided against it, since it adds a motivation to get raft parts, or else you could just avoid obstacles and shoot the croc.

I'm very glad you enjoying the part collection! It took a while to get right, it still has a little jank but let's just called that a feature!

Thank you for playing!

A lot of fun for sure, feels and plays like an old-school arcade game and ramps up in difficulty as you go along.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I'm happy you had fun with the game~!
