A climbing game was one of the ideas I was considering, but this game is way better than whatever I would have created if I went that route. The controls took a bit to get used to, but it was fun once I got it. I would definitely say a controller is basically a necessity though.

I do have a few pieces of feedback though. At the start, it's a bit weird because you can move while not climbing until you leave a wall. I think this is what made the controls initially confusing to me. I think there could be maybe a better indicator to help differentiate the different climbers, maybe corresponding to their side of the controller. Also you can cheat moving up past a colored section by climbing with that guy and just spamming the climb button with the other.

The art and sound more than make up for these small issues though, and overall it was a great game.

Thank you for the very useful feedback! I've made that when you spawn you can move while not climbing so when you respawn at a checkpoint you dont fall. I think i'll do an update when the jam is over to improve the game with the different feeback i have.

Great game! The art style is cool and once you get the hang of it, swinging up the side of the mountain is incredibly satisfying. Nice job!

A really fun platformer game that didn't have platforms, the controls were a bit finicky though but overall still quite enjoyable

Super fun! I loved the atmosphere, very celeste-like. It was a bit confusing on my thumbs, but overall very very good!

The controls for keyboard are a little weird. I also had issues with reconnecting to a wall after jumping off. Overall, although I didn't get very far, I think this game would be very fun if I understood the movement better. I also like how this project used the theme.

My bad if the controls are not clearly explained, i tried to make simple tutorials but maybe they can be hard to understand. I'm glad that you still enjoyed the game a bit and thanks for the feedback!

Nice experience!! I liked the idea of working together to climb up, discovering multiple paths, and especially the checkpoints because the keyboard controls are a bit tough.

I added the checkpoint really lately but they are really usefu, i find it very frustrating to have to redo everything in other games. I'm glad that you find multiple path, how many strawberry did you find?

Wow this is amazing, seconding the comments about Nidhogg, the visuals here are amazing, camera and animation are smooth as hell, and this thing plays like a dream!

The camera is really simple, it follows the middle of the rope with a little offset, and thank you for the nice comment ^^

This is the most original game so far and the theme was there for sure!  Reminded me of Nidhogg, very raw with the visuals combined with solid aesthetics! Great game.

Thank you for the post! I didnt play Nidhogg but it's the same kind of idea. Making a physical link between two player is the most basic interpretation of the theme but i tried to make it the most original possible.

The vibe and look are good, and I really like the idea. The controls are pretty awkward and my game kept starting in this weird state where I could float up and down without climbing, which made it hard to tell that I was supposed to be holding the triggers down to climb, so it took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to play. Also I hate it when games make me hold the triggers down. I'm old. It hurts.

I'm sorry, i hate when the controls of a game are'nt clear. Holding the triggers is supposed to make you feel "held onto the mountain" but i suppose that it's just not pleasant. Despite that i'm happy that you liked the rest of the game and thank you a lot for your feedback!

The game controls are a bit inspired by the game "Haven" and they are designed specifically for a controller, i added the keyboard controls at the end but it is far from good. Thank you for the feedback ^^

Pretty fun and unique. Loved the atmosphere of the game. Much better with the controller!

The thing that was critiscised the most was really the keyboard controls and that is really a problem of design. Altough i'm glad that you liked the atmosphere, i think the relaxing music over the blizzard sound helps a lot.
