This game is super well designed, congratulations! The audio and art are minimalistic and it fits perfectly. The puzzles are clever, but there is a great learning curve that let me feel like a genius when I figured some of the levels :D Great job!

PS I could not control the character in the WebGL version, so I downloaded the Windows one, but you probably know about it :)

Developer

Thanks man!

I don't actually know what you mean about not being able to control the WebGL version, it works fine for me and nobody else has mentioned it. I know that sometimes if you don't actually click on it the inputs won't work so that might be what happened

ok the game was awesome a few things here and there were a bit out of place but overall the game was awesome, loved it :

The physics were indeed a bit annoying (especially the sticky walls) but I did enjoy hooking onto terrain using my merged boxes and the puzzles were overall designed well. It would be kind of annoying at times if you messed up a box merge late into a level since you'd have to restart the level but the levels weren't long enough for that to be much of an issue.

On a more personal note the game was maybe a bit too blue in that when I got to this rating page my eyes took a second to adjust.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment, I will definitely fix the sticky walls (it was a bug not a feature)

Submitted(+1)

I like everything about it ! nice concept ! got stuck one time. Somehow I ended up standing just in the very edge of the plataform and it wouldn fall or move so had to restard.

Developer

Yeah true that happened to me too, I'm not exactly sure how to fix it without allowing you to just climb up walls tho
I will definitely fix that if I can figure out how, Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

I was interested in the puzzles, so good job :D

This concept fits the theme perfectly! I also think the minimalistic art style looks great. Nice difficulty curve too. Great job!

Submitted(+1)

I like the idea and the simple artstyle. I think the platforming may be a little too precise for the puzzly vibe of the game but it was still enjoyable.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah I think you're right, there were even times when I played it that I failed by not making a jump even though I did everything else right

Submitted(+1)

I love the fact that this makes me re-think how I play a platformer. Can't reach something? Put something on top of it that I can stick to! It's an original spin on what makes platforming puzzles so fun!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, this means a lot :)

I liked the concept and the minimalist take. I love the puzzle aspect of the game and problem solving. I think i would have liked it a bit more if the platforming was a bit more de-emphasized ( a bit easier) because I would know what I needed to do but was having trouble with the jumps from time to time. Overall fun game!

Developer

Yeah I should probably make the game a bit easier to put more focus onto the puzzles rather than skill
Thanks for the comment!

I liked this! The visual aesthetic is great. The gameplay is cool and the concept of forming shapes to solve each platforming puzzle is super interesting.

I didn't play far because I was getting an odd bug (?) in the WebGL version where the jump height was sometimes enormous and sometimes pretty small. (I couldn't see any pattern to it, but apologies if this is an actual mechanic that I was missing somehow.)

For that reason I dunno if I was solving the puzzles as intended, cheating my way through with a glitch, or having a harder time than I was supposed to!

Really cool idea, though. Thank you for letting us play it!

Thanks for leaving a comment!
Yeah that massive jump height thing was a bug and I also couldn't find out why it happens, but I will fix it if I do

Submitted(+1)

looks really great

Submitted(+1)

Amazing concept! Great fun forming cubes into different shapes to solve the puzzles. You should remove the friction on the walls though. Would love to see more shapes/ mechanics for complex levels.

Developer

Thanks!
I agree with removing the friction, I should've fixed it (because it was a bug, not a feature) but I forgot

simplistic sprites but top Marks (hehe) for the Fun category!

Developer

Thanks!
also I just realised I literally didn't use any sprites other than the default square sprite lol

Game concept is solid, but the game itself feels a bit clunky. You have a good base for a fun minigame but the jump and the way the maps are laid out makes it feel tough to navigate. Overall there's a lot of content here and the game runs relatively bug free. Great work <3

Developer

Thanks for the comment!

What exactly do you mean by 'the jump' and 'relatively bug free'? What bugs did you find?

Submitted(+1)

Hello again! When I refer to the jump being a bit strange based on the map set up I am referring to the lack of some platformer QoL changes such as coyote time (frames of forgiveness off ledges) and a variable jump height based on how long the player holds down the jump button (Like in Mario games). The maps also seemed to require some pretty difficult jumps which is fine but could be made to feel better if the mechanics were more refined. When I said relatively bug free I only mean that I experienced a strange bug where my jump height was multiplied by a bunch and I shot up in the air a few times. Not really sure what caused it.

Overall the game is really solid and I think the concept could be pushed further to make some really awesome levels. Also thanks for taking the time to review my game, all feedback is appreciated <3

Developer

Thanks again for the reply,
These are really good suggestions and I actually something that I didn't already think of. I also had that weird massive jump height bug sometimes but I couldn't figure out why it happened and I ran out of time so  I ignored it.
Also no problem, I try to rate everybody's game that leaves a comment :)

Difficult but fun puzzle game, fits the theme really well!

Submitted(+1)

you explored this simple mechanic excellently to create some really imaginative puzzles.

I love how you have to connect to cubes at in a certain way to catch yourselves on ledges

The colour scheme is also very simple but very effective for the gameplay

Developer

Thanks man!

I'm glad you liked the colour scheme, I know it's obviously very simple but I felt like it would be better than just downloading someone elses art, especially with the joining of colours.

(+1)

Such a simple mechanic that can be used to do many things, great job!

Submitted(+1)

Cool! The idea of being able to make yourself a hook and hoist onto ledges definitely feels nice to play.

Submitted

It felt really short. Make more.

Developer

sleep was more important than levels lol

Submitted(+1)

Still. It's amazing and it needs more levels. Consider continuing the project, please.

Submitted(+1)

Super fun! Controls are a little janky with how sticky you are hitting walls, but once you get used to it, there's a ton of potential in the mechanics, which is explored well with good level design. I love puzzle games and this one really made me think.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for this nice comment!

Also yeah, I completely agree with the sticky walls, I was going to fix it but I kinda ignored it lol
