The game was quite enjoyable once I figured it out! I really like the art that you made for the game, and the sound went with it really well too. Generally I haven't been the biggest fan of controls getting reversed, but I think it works pretty well in this case. It would definitely benefit from some explanation, like a tutorial or even just an instructions screen, since it was a bit hard to figure out.

I agree about tutorial, I understood it after submitting game, when time was out, happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for your feedback it means a lot!<3

I love the sound design. Both music and sound effects give a really cool and fitting vibe. Visually it could use some help from sticking to a color palette. Gameplay wise it feels nice, although the docking animation doesn't feel as responsive as I'd expect. Like it comes a bit late. Also I feel it should either slow you down or completely stop you in place. As other have mentioned before, a few seconds after the monster thingie spawns could help too. Either way, I love the feel of this game and (again) the sound design is sooo good. Good job team! Keep at it!

Ps: I love how cute the tile screen is.

yes, after playtesting i understand all those issues, it's so good to read these comments, feedback you give gives me not only motivation to do more games, but also knowledge and understanding what i did wrong, what was good, what needs to redesign and so on.

thank you so much <3

Your game has very similar mechanics to the game I submitted. Your's is a lot better (I can see it being some sort of adventure game - I couldn't find the antidote to the poisonous mushroom; is there one?) - My game is more of a puzzle kinda game; check it out if you have time.

Developer

i will totally check it out now ! yes antidotes are those pink flowers, they're always near mushrooms <3 thank you so much

The game is so cute I just had to click on it after seeing the thumbnail. While I find the idea interesting I have to say it lacks some kind of better representation of what is going on. I would suggest having an safe envoirment example first, before you start getting chased by a 1-shot ghost. Maybe give 2-3 good mushrooms in a small area, then give the player bad mushrom he cannot avoid that changes the controls, but doesn't spawn a ghost yet, have clear path to a flower, and after the player heals himself he can go out to the world. Put a sign like "Bewere of Possessed Mushroms" sticked into the ground or something. Just some ideas.
It took me quite a while to figure out that my controls are swaped. The good thing is that when I figured it out it really started to be fun!

+ This game is just so cute
+ Very responsive controls
- The game punishes you very quick before you can get a grasp of what to do.

I liked it :)

it's so cool to read so good feedback from people, this kind of constructive critique means a lot. i know timing on mushroom could be longer or it needs some visual signs, which tells you to run fast for antidote. i don't think i can change it now because game is already submitted.  this is our first game, and this is first time to participate in game jams.  the lesson here is that feedback from people who plays your game is one of the most important thing in development process.

thank you for your comment ! <3

Good entry!
I think the visual feedback could be improved when collecting a bad mushroom and getting the monster. Maybe something as simple as an indicator on the ground, to make it clear that the monster will appear at the spot of the mushroom you just picked up

Developer

thank you! Really good advice ❤️

took a bit to figure out i could run from the monster. Also i have no idea how its a souls like.

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing <3

About souls like - it was a joke 😁

I like the idea of a mushroom that when you pick it up it changes your controls, like you describe. But my experience was more "a mushroom that when you pick it up, you die". I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to do after picking up one of the bad mushrooms, since I always died almost instantly. The art is cute though!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, so after bad mushrooms your control changes, and you should pick up flowers, for antidote, and than your normal control comes back, i'm pretty sure if you will play it like 3-4 times after dying you will  master it ! <3
