If you decide to upgrade the game after the rating are over, I would recommend you to add different pick ups on the road (probably it's kind of obvious, but anyways). It might be a common element of similar games, but with the random speed feature, it will create a good constant dilemma of "should I go for it or no?" This seems as a funny concept for a mobile game, though, and the fact that the game is more unpredictable, but not random, makes it well balanced. Enjoyed playing your game!
Hi, thanks so much! I don't think I'll be doing much else with this game but those are some really good ideas
This game is a great example of using a lack of control to create tension! Depending on your speed, reacting to oncoming cars can feel real tense. And I shouldn't forget the headlights, which (in addition to being a nice contrast to the moody aesthetic) were a crucial tool for reacting to oncoming traffic, and a great counter-balance to what would've been overwhelming tension. Saying this game is underrated doesn't do it enough justice!
I really appreciate it! The headlights originally were just something that I thought would look cool, but I kept them in because I realized they could have a useful purpose in gameplay :)
This game just has AMAZING LOOKS. Love it! Also very smooth animations and transitions between screens. Small flaws with spawning of the other cars only in 3 positions. Great start for the game to add more diversity in enemy mechanics.
thank youu <3
This game is underappreciated, it's fun and has a great art style. I enjoyed the headlights on the car, it was a nice touch. I did find an oversight where traveling down the road on the dotted line would make the car pretty-much unstoppable.
If you want to improve, i suggest making the other cars change lane or introduce a drunk driver car that tries to crash into the player to switch up game play more. Turning felt kinda tight, I suggest adding some conservation of momentum stuff to make the car feel more slippery when making quick turns. You could also add in weather considerations like fog where you can only see headlights. Snow or rain that makes the road more slippery. Maybe places where the road narrows or expands to create more opportunity or to restrict movement. Lastly you could add in collectibles on the road for bonus millage, creating a nice risk/reward system.
Overall fun game! If you have a chance, check out mine: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/69482
Thanks a bunch for your feedback! I'll check your game out when I have the chance :))
Cool simple visuals! There are a lot of games with cars, but I like your approach of random speed of the car, it made the game very unique :3
much appreciated
Presentation was great and fun to play. A little too easy because of the car spawns.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, it's kind of easily cheesable haha
Really liked the presentation! The ideia was pretty interesting but could be expanded upon, maybe implementing different ways the game got "out og control". Also, by just staying ontop of the broken white lines in the pavement I could keep evade all incoming cars without input. Pretty cool game!
thanks! i realized you could cheese the game during development but i left it in for those who would find it [and due to time constraints] ;)
Cool graphics and Solid sound design.
Nice one.

Really awesome art! The intro cards were professional grade and it's a very tight gameplay experience
Thanks so much!
