How did you incorporate the theme?
I made one special ability REUSABLE, BUT it comes at a cost: it recharges slower and slower the more you use it

Congrats for your submission!

I found it pretty hard to play, because splitting the attention between the bullets and the notes was quite difficult, maybe there's a way to make those actions "closer" to each other?

I have wanted to make or see a game like this for so long and never managed. This is a great implementation. I'd like to see more

This is amazing! The two genres are very incompatible yet you made it work so well. Splitting my focus between the piano keys and dodging bullets was really fun and felt really rewarding when I pulled it off. Also after I played the song a few times, I started to learn it and nail the piano keys much easier which felt really satisfying. The visuals are simple yet effective, and I really appreciate how each time you land a piano key your wizard shoots a fireball, it just blends together really well. This is the most fun game I've played so far. Amazing work!

Loved this game! Probably the most played game of the jam for me, however it got pretty difficult pretty fast. Also loved being able to compare my score to others on the leaderboard!

Difficult but very fun to play! The difficulty comes from the tempo which was quite high for me since I don't play rythm games but I got used to it somehow by persevering.

Did you have to add each rythm point yourself or did you use some kind of module to do that for you? Which game engine did you use?

The game design part was cleverly done, the timing on the keys is satisfying, the bullets are not too much not too few, the bullet clearing spell along with the health regen when beats are well executed are giving a chance to the player so it didn't frustrate me at all and that's why I persevered. The high scores system encourages competition which extends the lifespan of the game a little bit.

Considering you did it on your own, hats off!

Thank you!
Yes, I added every note myself. Since I made the game using Phaser, I wrote a simple script that recorded my keypresses while the song was playing and saved the timestamps. This is not very accurate but gets the job done (at least for the very first jam version).

Ah interesting! I guess that was a bit challenging at first to come up with a good technical solution! ^^

You must know notes to press proper keys?

Developer

No, the note play action is bound to multiple buttons (JKLBNM) but you can use just one of those buttons and play all the notes. Or use two of them, as you are more confortable.

Wow this was difficult but as I got to know the song and rhythm a bit better it got easier -and by "easier" i mean still brutally difficult xD  very awesome and I looooved the music!!  Awesome game!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the trick here is to learn the song and then focus on the bullets! Thanks for your feedback!
