This game is hard but really cool. Congrats!
Nice submission.
I am so bad at these kinds of games XD
It had a nice arcade feel to it though.
Love the BG song
It got that good "One More Try"-Feeling. Well done!
Nice pixel art, the gameplay is fair, and it is well constructed, well done! can you please play my game to get feedback!
Long ago in a time long forgotten a warrior named Hun was destined to prove his worth by climbing the most unforgiving tower in the land The “Tower of Unstable death”. Armed with nothing but his own strength and tight but light armour he bravely goes where no warrior has gone before. Climbing inch by inch he is determined to prove himself and be the king of the unstable tower (queue the lightning and thunder audio and heavy metal 80’s rock music). This was a fun game, I love the sound effects. No english audio just gibberish which adds to the games unique aesthetics. However the game is not as perfect as it could be. The colors in the start while retro does hurt my eyes having a 50% grey castle wall at the beginning instead of a extremely bright cyan would have got you that extra point. Same goes for the text in the beginning talking to what I assume is a wizard. It was a bit too much. I suggest next time putting a separated menu option for the games lore or putting it in a tutorial as an option. The RNG needs a bit of work as well, some of the platforms repeat the same section a bit to much and I find myself restarting a lot. No 3D, No mobile, No Leaderboards so sad to see a low on that front. Other than that awesome game man would like to see a full product of this. Keep it up.
Simple, no nonsense platformer with really nice, not-slippery controls! This was really fun, though the fact that the falling platforms didn't come back after a while is absolutely brutal! Like an old school arcade game. Gonna be hearing "HUA HUA HUA" in my dreams tonight for sure lol. Making the basics work well is hard to do! Good work!
Also wow, just got the pun in the title. I made a game in about a bar and was thinking of making the character "Un" and calling it Un's Table lol. Your pun is better.
Finally someone gets the pun!
Glad you enjoy the game.
We are aware that some people really don't like these type of games but we wanted to do it anyway, we had fun!
Fun and challenging game. I know that some people like to play games where one mistake can set you far back. I do think this game would have benefitted from having checkpoints rather than having to start from the beginning each time you mess up. I wanted to see the whole game but I was disheartened when I had to start from the beginning each time. The part with the moving platforms was just too much for me to keep trying to figure out, the platforms move so fast. Music and world-building were great! Nice work!
First of all thank you for trying the game!
We assure you it's doable with some practice and, just to explain that we are not crazy sadists who have danmaku games and Cat Mario as their favorite games, in 5 screens (if we remove the first one designed to show you the types of platforms and how these works, and the last one, the simpler screen of all) two of them have two course one simpler than the other. The only screen that put you in the situation to figure out what to do it's the one with the moving platforms but it's simpler than you think ;)

That said thanks again and we definetley think of checkpoints in post jam work on this game.
Nice! Using your tips I was able to get past the part I was stuck at and eventually beat the game! I did fall on the last possible block once which was very sad :(. I took the easier route when available and still found that cross over jump really difficult. Eventually, I even mastered the pink blocks. I understand what you are going for but at some point once I have mastered a section I want to have the option to just stop doing it. Regardless it was fun figuring your game out and I have up'ed the fun rating. Cheers! :)
Very fun but challenging game. I think the best strategy is to just hold space haha

LOVED IT !
Simple yet challenging, every other aspects of the game was good in my opinion besides maybe the hero being hard to see at times.
Challenging and fun, good stuff! Love the visuals.
funny old school game! great work!
Reeaaaally too hard for me, but I can see the hard work on it! Be careful to introduce a variation in repetetive noise, or they quickly gets annoying (Like the jumping "HURH")
Noted! Thanks for the feedback.
No sound designer and musician here so we improvise that part and any feedback it's really important for us.
Love the story :D
"My name is... but you may call me old man" cracked me up real good :D
Quite challenging platformer indeed.
Ah yes a challenging platform game AND no checkpoints, you love to see it. Love these type of games and also love the art style as well. Had a ton of fun, and I used the Medallion of Eternal Return power exactly 69 times LOL. Awesome game!
You, brave hun warrior, fill us with pride!
We are perfectly aware that some people do not like these types of games BUT we do and we want to try to make one.
Thank you very much for dedicating so much time and efforts to our game!
Glad you had fun!
That was cool! The concept is fun, and the setting is interesting. There were also some neat precision platformer bits.
That said, with all due respect, I feel like the level would still be a good level of hard (and long) if the platforms merely regenerated after a time (or if there were checkpoints). Mandatory beginning restarts feel quite artificial, especially given that the level is already quite hard.
However, I will say: I appreciate that the part at the end of the level was NOT the hardest part! That's a good design choice.
The art has a distinct style, and the Conan-esque character design is quite charming! However, there's one problem I have with the graphics: a lot of the background tiles have a similar saturation and value compared to the main character. This isn't universal (the mossy stones in the 2nd layer have a good contrast), but it happens often enough to be somewhat straining to the eyes.
Good job including audio control! Unfortunately, it seems that the menu button hover sound always plays at max volume.
Good work!
Ooooh yes! Feedbacks! Love it!
First of all thank you very much for finish it we know it requires time and a lot of retry.
Like you said it was intentional that the last bit was easier. Glad you appreciate the design. Speaking of it: in 3 of the 5 screen/floor there are 2 "course", one simpler than another ;)
That said we feel it wasn't fair to the player to make him face a even bigger challenge at the end after all of that.
If you, who reached the top and found out that the level is not that long, still think that respawning platforms and checkpoints are needed we take that feedback in consideration for future improvements. We already have ideas for that.
Coming to the values: we had other colours, an entire other palette. It didn't convinced us so we decided to use NES palette instead. But this choice was made 2 days before deadline and we found ourselves rushing through the process. Usually we do the greyscales to see the values but this time...
Yeah you have a point, we definitely try to improve the colours to make The Hun pop up!
Thanks again for the precise feedbacks, we are very pleased that comes from you because we love your work ( we found you like 2 or 3 weeks ago and we liked to play your games: Make a friend, Logic Bulb adventures, Crap and the others).
I'm pleased to hear that you enjoy the rest of my work. Thank you!
I thought this was pretty fun, but a bit tough. Definitely had a to practice a bit to get good at it, but improved every time. Enjoyed the little bits of humor as well. Good job!
Reminds of that old games where no savepoint was available , and the sound of the jumping makes me happy
