Thank you so much for the detailed comment and thanks for hosting a wonderful event. Genuinely enjoyed so many of the games I played, and was very gratifying to get comments like these from the hosts and other developers. Cheers!

Thank you so much! Should have maybe called it sensible passivity simulator instead!

WOW thank you so much! This was really helpful! You take a lot of things for granted when you're the game's creator so this was really useful for what I'd need to change for the user experience in a second build. Glad you played to get as far as you did. Thank you again so much!

Thank you!

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! Really wanted to strike that balance: silly but uncomfortable at times, and narrative but still a game. Cheers!

This is absolutely awesome!!! Gameplay wise, probably the most unique entry I had the pleasure of playing so far. At first when I was looking at how to play, I felt overwhelmed and thought I couldn't possibly read all the cards and memorize everything I needed to succeed at the game. But once I started, I was amazed at how intuitive it was and how just by choosing what sounded right elicited the emotion from the client I was going for. I thought it was most fun to be mean (I don't know if all the cards are preprogrammed or not, but if they are, the Disaster, Disaster, Disaster for the client who wanted to know about her love life was hilarious and I absolutely gave it to her straight lol). I WAS nice to the lady with the cat though, and it was so gratifying to see the tailored responses play out just the way you wanted. This is a game you should absolutely develop more and get out there. A really great casual, bite sized narrative game with a lot more agency than your average visual novel type games. The folks who missed this one are missing out on a great experience! Great job again to you and your team on such a cool, unique game!!

This was fun! A simply game but executed well with some really charming art (especially love the all black main character model!). At first I was unloading into the cute pumpkins because of the name of the game and was confused when they weren't splattering, and I got so caught up I actually jumped when the little message signaling the start of the game showed up lol. Fun shooter with good controls, well done!

Comrade! I was wondering around in the cold and even found a tree on fire but wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing! Couldn't seem to find that bear you mentioned! I like the idea of a survival game set in the freezing cold when you're all alone though, and the game has a cool feel to it. Any tips on how to play?

This is a cool idea and a good base for eight hours of development! I wasn't able to get super fast like the other commenters (I don't know how since there's only one button and clicking on the bat icon 😭) but I love the idea of an idle clicker that has a dynamic, physics based feedback system instead of just watching numbers get higher and higher. Very nice and hope to see more in the future!

Congratulations on your first game for a jam! I had fun playing, and you embodied the feeling of a teenage protagonist, the vibe and dialog style took me back to high school. I thought the visuals were really cool (especially when the shadow thing poked its head out in the woods) and thought it was very creative how you incorporated the mini games into the visual novel. Good job and keep making games and stories! I had fun with this! (Got as far as ending 5/6 the loyal servant one! I guess I was too bad at Simon says!)

I booted the game up a couple more times today and on the first loading screen I got that "Program is not responding" thing where you can either close the program or wait for it. And I tried both and it froze a few times, but then one time after I waited, it actually went to the next screen with the three lives and the room, and then every time after that it actually loaded alright!
But unfortunately, it was still too choppy on my computer to really appreciate but I can say the atmospheric music and visuals were awesome and you did a great job of creating the dankness of the underground!

When this was loading up I could have sworn it wouldn't work for me since my computer generally can't handle 3D, but it the performance was flawless. That's an amazing achievement in itself! And then the atmosphere, aesthetic and just flow of the narrative and gameplay were super spooky and genuinely scary. Also big thank you for the jump scare warning because I remember the relaxing maze video from back in the day and was watching far away with squinted eyes while playing the car mini game lol. I don't think I got far enough to fully appreciate the cards (they were a bit hard to read) and my powers, but what I had of the game was super spooky, atmospheric and fun. Good job!

Thank you so much for giving it the time! I spent longer on those silly animations than you'd think given how simple they are, so I'm really glad when players go out of their way to see everything. Cheers!

That makes me so happy to hear! I absolutely have plans for an SVS 3 deluxe edition or whatever I decide to call it once I put a proper coat off polish on and make some more content for it. Everyone's reaction to it in this state is very encouraging to keep working on it. Thank you!

Thank you so much! Means a lot coming from you!

Awesome game! I couldn't figure out the logic of which questions were the "right" ones and was almost going to give up, but thanks to having the skip button, going again with trial and error was super easy and boy am I glad I didn't give up! The fourth ending and the changing title screen was such a cool moment and I love that the meta game of having to replay to get all the endings rewards you like that. The art, music and little attention to detail like being able to slightly look around in the car are all fantastic. There are lots of questions I still have about the story but the atmosphere and execution were so good I was ok with not knowing. Great entry!

One of the best, most polished submissions so far! Everything worked perfectly, it was full of charm, was perfectly paced for a Jam entry and I really appreciated that you could just be absolutely psychotic to speedrun the boyfriend building. Great balance of insane horror and humor (loved all the puns!)--a real game after my own heart. Fantastic!

It's definitely challenging but it's really fun and super satisfying when you actually make the shot! I love games with unique but simple mechanics and this is a really nice mix of side scrolling beat 'em up and basketball. At first I thought the attack had way too much start up, but once I got the hang of it it became really fun to time the punch to clock the skeletons! Great marriage of the two genres and even though I wasn't very good of it I had a blast!
If it's helpful to you, here's a video of me playing:

I like what I played, but I couldn't seem to progress after getting to the first gate. It told me to use the key on the refrigerator but there didn't seem to be one? Or I might have missed it. I liked the build up and the weird, eerie way the notes read and am keen to play again once I can figure out how to progress properly! Still good entry!

The art, voice acting and layout were all top notch! Unfortunately I failed in the first challenge (it seemed almost impossible to click fast enough to break enough skulls to find the heart?) and then it skipped straight to the leaderboard screen instead of making me pick one of the cards like it said in the intro.  Of course, I can tell where you put in most of the time and you can't address every bug so it can't be helped when you're on a time limit. But I can obviously tell that in addition to the great narrative stuff and aesthetic stuff you've put together there's a great game there as well! Would have loved to try the multiplayer as well!
Good job for what you have and I'm keen to play it again in the future!!

This game was AWESOME! The controls were crisp and everything worked as expected, the art was great, loved all the sound effects and even though the dialog was a bit hard to read at times, I liked how surprisingly involved the story was! I would have definitely played a bunch more levels if they existed! But even in the one you had, I liked that there was a variety of enemies or at least a variety of ways to find them. Really had fun with this one--top marks from me.

Video of me having a blast playing it for proof:

It makes a lot more sense now and is very charming and funny! I especially love the "human" energy drink and the art of the humans when their disguise is found out. Awesome!

Thank you so much! Your take on the game is exactly the reaction I was hoping players would have so I'm really happy. And yeah, I've had the idea for a game like this for a while and the Jam was a good opportunity to get started. Will absolutely develop it more in the future!

Thank you so much! I'm glad that even in this form it could make you think. Means a lot coming from your team!

Thank you! I wasn't able to get in as much of the set up I wanted because of the time constraints, but even so I'm glad players appreciate it.

I'm sure it's totally on my end and I wouldn't worry about it but, yeah I'll do a screen cap video and send it when I get back from work today!

I've actually never read a visual novel before and I'm glad that this was my first experience. It's much longer than the other games, but you earned the length by keeping everything interesting and making me want to see what happened next! I kind of guessed the twist based on the name of the game, but that did nothing to take away my enjoyment of the writing and how everything unfolded. Like a wonderful mix of 1984, the matrix and Her. Fantastic entry (and I haven't even spoke about the awesome visuals and execution of the storytelling!).

Amazing! One of my favorites of the jam so far. I actually played a bunch of times to try and make the perfect cup for the guy. Loved the atmosphere, how he responds to your decisions in making the cup of cocoa, and the animation on the gun on the table was just sublime. I didn't get the "good ending" but I'm definitely going to keep trying to figure it out! Great job!

Playthrough video:

This was really fun! A great zombies game with all the mechanics you want like upgrades, a shotgun and a good melee option. The how to play section was really cool and easy to understand too. I couldn't seem to get the heath buying and upgrades to work, or rather if they did I couldn't tell (maybe like a cash register sound to register it happened for future updates?). But definitely had a lot of fun with this one! My favorite strategy was stabbing zombies from inside before they broke through the wall. Great job!

Playthrough video if it's helpful to you:

The thumbnail art and in game assets are all awesome, like the attacking animations for the starting units are all super smooth. I wasn't clear on how to generate more candy to keep building units but clearly the basis of this PvZ style game is solid and it's just a matter of tweaking. Great work!

Thank you so much! Really glad you played more than once since what you get to see changes depending on how you "clear" each room. Cheers!

Really wanted to give this one a go especially since you played my game as well, and clearly the game works because everyone else is playing it no problem but unfortunately I don't think my machine can run it because it keeps crashing after the opening scene loads. What I can see looks awesome though!

Awesome voice acting, pacing and atmosphere. Gives me a Resident Evil 4 vibe! I didn't get too far because I only have an old machine and it couldn't handle the game, but I really liked what I played!

Cool art, like the inventory management system and it's a nice of funny and scary! Of course, it ended a little bit quickly but that's how it is when you're developing for a jam.  I also made a point and click game, so this is one after my own heart! Good job!

Cool game! I like the setting and art and the controls and interactions are smooth. It's a bit punishing when you bump into the mannequins since it's instant death and you have to start over from the beginning instead of from by the bag, but I managed to get a little further with each try and enjoyed it! Good entry!

This was really cool! I liked trying to think about what nightmares would be scary to which people, though it seems like Carl is just the biggest scaredy cat of all and you get great ROI on spooking him! I actually like the art and user experience and think that with a bit of added content and more characters with unique fears and clues as to what spooks them would make this even better! Great entry!

And here's a video of me playing through if it's helpful !

Not sure if others experienced this problem, but when the game loads for me it goes to a very zoomed in scene of the title, and I can't interact with anything to start the game. I would love to play it though!

WOW. This is the most professionally made work this Jam that I've played so far. Great art, realistic and well voice acted (song was awesome too) and very satisfying to solve and the right mix of horror and detective work. I got lost in the alley for longer than I should have but other than that, great experience all round! All the dialog chains and prompts felt very natural and you covered all the bases for opening up new dialog options based on the new information that came your way. Amazing!

And for what it's worth this is my playthrough if you wanted to see some play footage of your game in the hands of a stranger!

Love the zelda style adventure game combined with point and click idea behind the game! The big pictures you can interact with are definitely the coolest part of the game for me. I played for a while and was impressed by how much dialog and areas were in the game and could see that you were clearly meant to start a big chain of events to go through the story and progress the game. I got as far as I assume the first step by finding the deed, but felt a bit overwhelmed about where to go next and decided to come back to it later. A great game with lots to do and cool mechanics, even if sometimes it felt a bit TOO big so stupid players like me didn't know what to do next 😅. Great entry!

And here's a video of my part of my playthrough if it's useful for you as a developer:
