Interesting bridge building game. I like how it feels like the car is going on a long trip with the good variety of backgrounds (just wished each background had a different layout of holes to build over). Since the game still allowed you to place block while the car is move, I just waited until it got on my bridge then spam click blocks behind and under it to create a kind of wave to push it to the other side lol. It's cool to view all your stats at the end of a level and sometimes be given a choice to modify them or not, but I don't really see much of an effect of doing so, also the car moves too slowly (and I never understood that mechanic that supposedly made it go faster). I also found a glitch that made it so every time you click on the launch button when you start a new level, it erases your bridge instead and only works when you click on it a second time (also it would've been cool to have a level counter too).
(Voted yesterday!)
Thank you for playing and for the feedback :)
The terrain change was on my mind but I decided not to add it and rather put the emphasis on the blocks.
The more horsepower/less weight the car has, the faster it goes, it's just that some upgrades takes a couple of turns to be activated (as indicated).
I did tried to fit a level counter on the screen but it didn't work with the UI (it just made it bigger than it should be and more invasive onto the art)
Yes, I heard of the erase launch bug and it will be fixed next update :)
Fun with physics. No road trip for me, I could not get very far.
Thank you for playing !
Nice way to tackle the theme! I couldn't help but think about the great Michael Winslow when hearing the cube placement sound! An additional development idea or a perfect "bonus level" to a game like this would be adding sugar / sweetener in your coffee until the spoon stands straight. :D
Thank you for playing :)
I actually didn't thought of adding a secret level, it's a nice idea to add later, thanks !
Nice take on the theme, I had fun, but I wanted the car to go faster. Also found some bugs when I hit launch all my blocks disappears! Nice visual take and an original approach.
Thanks :)
Yeah, I heard of this bug and I'll fix it in the next update.
As for the car speed, as indicated in the beginning, the more you reduce the weight and/or increase the horsepower, the faster the car goes (and it is actually noticeable).
Interesting concept! It's a little strange that after starting you can continue to place blocks, it makes the game too easy, but overall it's pretty good!
Thank you for playing !
Removing this specific feature was on my mind, but I thought it was better to let players decide whether their platform needed additional blocks or not (with the probability of risking the precarious stability, they previously build when the car was not moving)
A very good game, but the sounds are of course meh... But the rest is top!
Thank you for playing !
As for the sounds, I'll put an emphasis on it from now on :)
Cool game! I felt very tense as the vehicle was crossing the bridge but I made it! I submitted my score and it looks like I have the top spot! I would have liked the option to enter a username for the leaderboards as well. I didn't like the sound but I appreciate that you had the option to turn it off. I was a little confused by the block-placing interface so maybe that could have been explained better. I am not sure if there are different levels but something to add a little extra variety would be cool. I am curious to know if you have any plans to expand this. Great work!
Thank you for playing !
Yes, a day or two after submitting, I did felt like adding extra indications at the beginning could have served the game better but I didn't wanted to be the kind of dev that literally hold your hands throughout the game with invasive tutorials, so I didn't explain everything, thinking that players would figure it out while playing, that's clearly on my part (I'll do better next time on this specific section).
The terrain/biome changes every 5 levels, but yeah not much in terms of gameplay difference then again I've put the emphasis on the blocks mechanics.
Maybe I'll comeback to this game, I don't know I am kinda busy with other games projects :)
The most challenge thing in this game it's the sound... But put this begin, this game has something that pull you in even if it's easy at first glance you can create your own difficult. Has its charm.
Thanks :)
Happy you enjoyed it !
Wow man, that game's awesome! Very polished and engaging too. How did you achieve pixel perfect rotation of the squares? I was looking for that everywhere, hehe.
The concert and excecution are just top notch.
Well done, man ^^
Thank you for playing !
Besides the regular settings to toggle for pixel art games, I also tweaked the physics engine collision mask of each object until I was satisfied with it.
Ok, i completed it. The take on the theme is quite clever, and i loved the twist on mood and story (it's subtle but it's there in form of power ups descriptions, very well implemented! What happens if i choose no?).
The audio is too annoying, too loud i turn it down instantley. Maybe it was for setting the mood but it's was too much.
There's a bug that makes you need to click launch twice and if you already place some blocks...puf! the blocks are gone and you need to start again.
For all the game I didn't strategize anything i kept spawning big blocks. Maybe i don't get it but the others blocks feels only like a plus but not a necessity.
That said you've found a quite fun micro-loop in the spawning blocks. It's very fun to do, you can work on that.
Thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback :)
I always design the audio to be annoying, mostly because I am not really good at making beautiful harmonious music but also to add another difficulty to the game: finishing it with the music.
Never encounter THIS specific bug, but it seems to be related to the way the game engine handle click/touch, because I did encounter several bugs related to that area, I'll see if I can fix it !
The game was originally harder but I changed it because I thought most people wouldn't be able to finish it, which is why you can finish the game with just the big cube, I am still happy that I implemented this fix because while most players would figure they can win that way, it still preserves the gameplay creativity (the other fixes I thought of during development would have been too cumbersome or changed the gameplay drastically)
This game is a really good game for mobile and computer!
8.9/10
Thanks :)
Yeah, I tried to make it playable for both supports which wasn't always easy but happy to see it worked out ok.
Glad you enjoyed playing it !
Not bad at all. Nice work
Thanks for playing my game !
I was expected this to be something else. Not bad though.
Thank you for playing !
