While I did manage to escape, I didn't escape in my highscore run; but, I died a rich man. Isn't that all that matters? [Joking]

That being said: wow! This game looks great! It's nice to see 3D lighting being implemented into the engine. I especially love how the dungeon looks as it crumbles apart.

I appreciate that the game doesn't let me spam my way to victory; I thought carefully about how to conserve energy and plan my bunny hops and sword strikes for maximum gain. Although, I couldn't figure out if there was a benefit to not having my sword drawn.

The object destruction and coin pickup mechanics made me quite nostalgic for Traveller's Tales' Lego games. Quite satisfying!

Good work on including the option to turn off gore!

While the audio and superb music was mostly balanced, some of the sound effects are a tiny bit loud, especially when they stack on top of each other. The goblin noises are especially prone to stacking. It's also possible to spam the "menu button" sounds.

Fantastic! Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it a lot.
The non sword in hand was a mechanic for throwing and other stuff that I decided to skip for the game jam and make it in afterwards so I could get the base gameplay to work well in time.

Super impressive game! The intro cinematic was very professional and I had no idea this kind of thing was possible in GDevelop. The gameplay was fun to I liked trying to take out the monsters with the traps! I wasn't really able to tell if I was able to damage the enemies with the sword so some kind of health indicator for them would help. I also noticed that jumping repeatedly was the fastest way to get around so if that is not the intention maybe include a sprint button. The movement seemed a bit off as to make my character go straight I had to hit both left and right at the same time. Keep up the great work!

Developer(+1)

So glad you liked the game <3

There is a health bar of the monsters on top right and it shows the health of the nearest monster that sees the Hero.

Hoping is faster, but consumes stamina which is needed on fights as well.
Movement goes to all 8 directions, but it seems that the camera is a bit off angle which makes the feel of the movement skewed.

Nice notice!
I'll have to check that out on the next update.

Woah, what a great opening cinematic.

The game looks great and I like that it had melee combat too.

I am extremely curious about a lot of things, but I don't want to smother you with questions.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the nice words.
Glad that you liked our game.

And by all means, do ask about anything, we'd be happy to have your questions and answer them.

How'd you get such good 3D models in the game?

How'd you create the opening cinematic?

Developer (4 edits) (+2)

I bought a low poly 3d models pack a way back from Synty Studios and modified them quite a bit to suit to the visual feel of the game.
About half of the Hero was remodeled by me.
Everything animation is made by me, using mixamo for character animations and blender for other animations.

The opening cinematic is done with just the Hero walking from waypoint to waypoint and the camera tweened after him always focusing on the Hero.
First I made the cinematic rough timeline and Annette made the fantastic music for it and after that I tweaked that to match the written musical score.

Wow,

That's all much simpler than I expected, in concept.

Thank you

Amazing entry! 3D Graphics with the lighting looks amazing, and the music/sfx work really well. Really fun mechanics but just wish I had a block button to parry off these damn zombies

Developer(+1)

So glad you liked our game <3
I decided against the block as the Hero has a torch in his off hand, but you can dodge their attacks with jumping and of course lure them into traps and then finish them swiftly after that...

Submitted(+3)

Well, I have no words. I have never tried making something in 3D, so I don't know how hard it was for you, but it's amazing, good job.

Thank you for the praises and so glad you liked our game <3

I'm shocked as to how good this game is! I really wasn't sure that this quality of 3D would've been possible in GDevelop. Mind-blowing work!

Wow, one of the most creative games yet I've seen in this game jam. Really like the execution here in the use of 3D, loved the cutscene at the start and the gameplay is not too shabby. Well done y'all!

It is impressive to see this level of 3D quality using Gdevelop. It is likely the best 3D graphics I've seen in Gdevleop so far. Excellent work all around!

Pablo oli vähän mielessä kun tätä tein.
Ja lisää piisaa jahka ehdin tekemään enemmän ;)

Really great to see a full 3D game in Gdevelop. I love the intro cutscene and the dungeon falling apart animations. After a few tries I managed to escape with some gold in my pocket.  The timing is a bit unforgiving to attack and not get attacked but it was fun to learn.

Developer

So glad that you liked our game <3
I agree that the battle timing and dodging could need a bit more tweaking to get a bit more satisfying to fight in.
The game will be in development further as this is just a scratch of the vision we had.
