Really nice little GB Game, the sprites, the atmosphere, the story, and the gameplay, loved it all! :)

Well paced mini adventure! Both the art and sound are simple but well done, selling the atmosphere of a lonely space station. The rotating enemies attack feels a bit nonsensical , sometimes it feels like it ropes you in, or damages you after the fact. Overall an engaging experience that gets bonus points since it could work on console :]

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the collisions in the engine are not great - I wrestled with the engine a bit but couldn't work it out. Will try to figure it out post jam! Cheers!

The atmosphere you create within the limits of the gameboy is incredible. Very cool game.

Thanks for the lovely comment!

Really tidy graphics. I liked the variations on the floor tiles, and the pipes and computers were really atmospheric.

The gameplay felt quite slow when you combined the slow movement speed of the character and backtracking. I found the map difficult to use, but I navigated by hugging the right wall.

The combat was a nice touch, it felt liberating to be able to avenge the damage the spikes gave me earlier!

Developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback! Yeah, I spent more time on the graphics than anything else and should have worked a bit more on gameplay, but hey it was 11 days! Agree on the slowness - and others have said similar. Will look into speeding up the player and optimising some screens post jam - gb studio seems to slow down with too much going on! Cheers!

Yeah, that's just the gameboy for you. It's only a tiny little bit of hardware so you have to help it out where you can. There may be some optimisations you do on the sprite update calls which reduce the amount of code it needs to run, especially with random movements.

Cute game. The main person moves just a hair slow it feels, at least to me. :P

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, a few people mentioning it feels a little slow. I think its a combo of me setting the speed of the character as too slow and the engine slowing down when there's too much for it to handle on screen...

Very ambitious puzzle game! I really like the map and the sci-fi aesthetic.

Impressed that you did this in 11 days. And it is an actual GameBoy game!

I hope I find more games as yours because I really enjoy puzzles. Nice that you included a map as well.

Good job!

BTW, my game is also a puzzle/zelda game, if you want to give it a try =) Thanks!

Really awesome puzzle game. I haven't finished it yet, but playing it on my Game Boy was satisfying as hell, well done!

Thanks for the feedback - really appreciated! Glad you enjoyed it and yeah, being able to play on a Game Boy is the whole reason for using GB Studio!

Very cool game, i beat the aliens boss! The graphics are very beautiful. Only the movespeed could be a little bit faster.

Thanks for this - well done! Thanks for the feedback too - really appreciated. There are a lot of improvements to make - it was a bit of a rush at the end and I was wrestling with GB Studio a lot. The game slows down if there are too many "actors" on screen which may be the problem - I used actors for the UI so would need to rethink it all a bit... Cheers!
