  • I played this game with friends. We really enjoyed the depth and variety in this game. At first we thought the writing at the beginning was a bug - but we were surprised to learn it was part of the story! The music was on theme and we liked that there was a different tune for every platformer level. The tile art in the dungeon was excellent - though I noticed sometimes rescaling the spider sprites and the dialogue meant that the pixels weren't quite to the gameboy resolution - but you kept true to the theme of Gameboy in general. I liked the dialogue, I thought it was fun to read without being too long. We immediately went to the second dungeon because we wanted to see the penguin haha I liked the separation of money earning and money spending via different game modes. All in all, a very enjoyable game. Well done on completing and submitting.

Yay! I finished the game :D I'm happy I did

I love all the fourth wall jokes.  I assume the bosses/characters that we see are references to your other games, right?

The top-down + platforming combo reminded me of Link's Awakening art-wise and feeling-wise. Great job on your submission!

I'm glad you finished it! And yeah, the game includes some easter eggs in reference to my other games and personal jokes.

Really good game, lots of content for this entry. Surely one of the best :)

Thanks Mike!

That's a lot of contents! Both playstyles feel great, and the presentation is excellent. Great work!

Thanks to you, my friend. You helped me with the crisp UI text :) !

I'm glad you advertised this on the Discord. Although I plan on playing every game, I would not have wanted to miss this. Not only did you implement two different game styles, but they both play well. Never thought I would enjoy grinding for coins.

Developer

Hey, thanks for the comments! I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, that's what I wanted to do, that people feel satisfied after coins were collected. It's also a small version of pay2win because you are just able to buy a lot of hearts.

I love the different coin levels and the music is bumpin. The music variety is where it's at.

The concept of the game is meta, I dig it. It's a really cool dungeon crawler, simple yet fun - there's a  bunch of level variety as well!

I had to finish it - I freed them then started a new game, maybe they wouldn't be there?? Now I kinda feel like a monster lmao.

Hey, thanks for finishing it! I hope you feel like a monster ;) hahaha JK.

That's an impressive amount of content created in the time! Loved it - great idea, riffing on a classic! Enjoyed the graphics and the audio too! Well done!

Thank you!

The money zone felt a lot like Mario Land 2, and the dungeons very much like Binding of Isaac. Never thought I'd mention these 2 titles in a single comment. Brilliant entry!

Binding of Isaac is a master piece, such a nice game :)

Thanks for the review!

I tried online, but I guess it would be better to download it and test it, so I can save my progress. I think is longer than I expected.

Good game so far though.

There's no saving system.

The game has a ~20 minutes duration. :)
