The atmosphere, the backgrounds, and, overall, the amount of work spent on the art of the game is astonishing. In my opinion, I would add some controls like A,W,S,D or arrows to controls the character and not getting suck with what the cursor dictates. Again, this is a really good job, I would like to see more of it.

Undoubtedly a high level job, very polished too! To be honest I don't like this genre very much (I don't have patience to explore) but the suspense setting is amazing =]
The only thing that bothered me a little bit is the text's sfx, not that it's unpleasant, but because of the frequency with which it runs I think it could be more "discreet".
The atmosphere in this one is really good! I love how the cursor doesn't move in a perfect straight line, it really adds to the uneasiness. The sound design is great, too!
I had a lot of trouble opening my inventory, it seemed to only work in one room, and then only sometimes. Not sure if this was an intended mechanic to add to the glitchy effect, but it forced me to stop playing without solving too much.
I like the deep fiction you've crafted around the game's existence, but I feel much of the effect is lost if you play the game without having read its description first. You could maybe add a splash screen that a fictional Video Memories Project employee added as a warning, it might add to the mystique.
Very cool though, keep it up, gang!

I think it's quite a novel idea ! I like how you used the limitation of the graphics and sounds to add to the creepiness and atmosphere of the setting. Without spoiling I have reached an event that causes the game to close but I don't think it was the intended ending as I haven't yet 'killed the witch'.
The gameboy-ness of this is really going hard :-)
However, the game crashed on me loads of times...
This is something I really wasn't expecting to find in the GBJam but I'm so happy I did! I played this at 11PM and when I grabbed that key I thought for a second I broke the game - then I frantically started looking for a way out of the room haha! You get so immersed in reading everything and clicking and investigating things that the spooks really sneak up on you! Had a blast, great entry!
