This game was all-round lovely. It packs in a lot of different gameplay mechanics for a jam game too! The resolution seems to be not quite right for gameboy, but other than that I think it had great gameboy soul. Amazing work!

I've rated about 30 games and this is my favorite.  I love everything about this, it looks great AND it looks like a real gameboy game.  The light pulsing like a heartbeat is fantastic.  The atmosphere is intense, I felt scared playing it.  The foreshadowing is great, writing is great.  I really REALLY liked the unsettling details like doorways that appear out of nowhere, exiting the closet through a different door than you came in, the reflection in the mirror changing, the fact that one of the knives is already missing.  The push and pull of WANTING the candle to follow you but also being afraid of it hurting you is GENIUS.

I feel like this is something that works great at exactly its current length but that could also be fleshed out into a full game and still be fun the whole way through.  I'm blown away, this is my highest rated game.  well done.

The two extremely tiny, minor notes I have are that the reflection in the mirror doesn't seem to be aligned to the same pixel grid, i was getting overlapping and slightly offset pixels which make it look like the resolution is higher than allowed, and the sound of the toilet flushing seems to be a higher quality than the gameboy would be able to produce but - who cares.

Game is GREAT.

Amazing game! Excellent presentation, and the story moved at a really nice pace.

Congrats!

Wow, just wow. That was impeccable. Genuinely creepy vibes and amazing gameplay. No notes other than I want to stay in that world!

You did all of this in a WEEK!? I loved it! Everything from the choice of palettes, the music, the interactions, etc. Nice attention to details as well. And loved the twist! Got both endings, my fav game of this jam so far :)

This is one of my favs in this jam! Simple yet memorable. I loved getting the candles bit, it's a very interesting idea! Great work!

This is an amazing game! It is properly spooky and I got chills many times. I watered all the plants and I absolutely loved the ending. The attention to detail is great, I especially loved that I could flush the toilet and flip through channels on the tv. Beautiful art, music, gameplay, and story!

I did encounter a glitch where dying in the candle room puts me in the previous attic room and I have no way to escape from there, so I had to restart the game. Otherwise it was smooth sailing.

Spooky!

This was actually awesome - I felt so validated for watering the plants! How did you make this in 10 DAYS?!?

Teddy had faith you would know what to do.

A cute little game.  Easy to grasp and nothing was confusing.  Definitely feels the part of an old GB game as well.

Loved it! Very spooky atmosphere. I couldn't understand the story very well (I only got the good ending), but it's a game full of charm and creativity. Very cute graphics also, congrats!

A great and engaging game - loved the story aspect and most (if not all!) of the components worked really well together.  Great work and my fav so far!

That was fun! The art and soundtrack are proficient, and the many turns the story took was intriguing and charming.

This might only be on my end, but many objects were not aligned with the pixel grid.

The thunder sound and the sound that plays when being caught by enemies are a just a tad loud.

All-in-all, great work!

Thank you so much for the helpful feedback! We will work to try and balance the audio and make sure objects align to the pixel grid in future builds.

Poor Sally had such a rough day! She had ghosts, lightning strikes, spider infestation, fires, and someone stole her favorite teapot! LOL.

This was really cute and well done. The details like flushing the toilet and Sally's reflection in the mirror were really cool. This one of my favorites I've played so far.

So glad you enjoyed it!! There are two endings to the game if you'd like to try again. Thanks for playing and for the review :)

My husband played and got the 2nd ending. The 2nd ending upped the score in my book. LOL. I used it as a lesson for him to remember to water the plants.
