Very fun game and I really liked the visuals! I was confused at first when I couldn't progress, but then I got it that I was supposed to kill all goblins. You definitely managed to capture the Ghouls 'n Ghosts/ Ghosts 'n Goblins vibes!

How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
"Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins". It's in the name! Goblins are besieging your kingdom, and you shall defend it :)

Loved this idea! Especially the part of the game where when you jump as the knight he throws back his head in full elation as he goes up. Got the first power up but at certain point it kind of felt like megaman nes difficulty which would be a barrier to entry for me. Very cool overall.
Well done with the cleave to search mechanic. I did get stuck at the beginning not realizign that I had to get all the goblins before moving on, but I was able to go back and get that last one and get my first upgrade. Fun to play and I'm looking forward to what else you do with this!
That was fun! The art is proficient, the character design is charming, and the soundtrack is cool. The mechanics are a little janky in spots, but the wanton violence was quite entertaining!
The audio is a bit loud; it regularly peaks above +0.0 dB.
All-in-all, good work!
Great art and sound! Challenging at times, I think I got to where you need the boost but wasn't close to getting it - I'm a cowardly knight lol
A very stylish looking game for sure, and a lot of fun. I seemed to get stuck at the end of the level and couldn't get any further? I enjoyed what I played though!
I like the style, and the game feels really balanced (like there is just the right amount of health flasks), However I think that needing to kill all the goblins or simple luck? in order to progress really undermines the experience(It would be way better without the invisible walls and pickups needed to progress like the dash should be pickable in the map and not from the 5 beads). Other than that the game is really atari-like, i also love that the goblins aren't just mindless and can jump. Good work!
Thanks for playing! :)There are lore implications of why you need to pick up the orbs, but we can't tell too much yet (you'll have to wait for the full version!). And if knowing which goblin to kill feels random, just look and listen to your shield ;), it can help you. The invisible walls are definitely a problem tho, they won't be there in the final version.
Learning new moves felt cool. Loved seeing a cluster of goblins in a row right after I got the dash attack!
It took me a while to understand I needed to drop something from the first goblin to proceed. It's really weird that there is a collider that blocks you if you don't hit the goblin's corpse after he dies. Could be nice to have a hint for the player there.
Very cool! Really liked the colors used and the thunders to indicate the special was ready. Good job!
Very funny! Those goblin are really satisfying to slay! I would have liked a longer sword though :D Nice job!
Great graphics! love the style and animation, killing the goblins was satisfying :3
Killing goblins was satisfying, but it was sometimes a lot of hit and run. Getting swarmed is rough!
I loved the "olde englishe", the knight sprite was very cool and cute, and the Cleave animation was awesomely brutal!
