I LOVE this game. It has such a fun concept that shifts the standard perspective on who is actually the hero. The gameplay is addictive, triggering that “just one more run” compulsion. The graphics are beautiful, kicking up the nostalgia for the days of playing Zelda on my purple GBC. The audio is crisp, clear, and pleasing to my synesthesia, excelling in creating an environment that I genuinely enjoy sitting in to keep hitting “retry” when I inevitably die to the amusingly named bosses. It’s challenging in all the right ways, creating a compelling little time sink I can definitely see myself picking up again.

I was thrilled to share my playthrough on my stream and I would happily play a full-size game in this vein.

10/10 the best deliverance of karma for all of my garbage hoarding in Skyrim. I’ll never look at my inventory the same as I pick up the 50,000th wooden spoon that I really don’t need and think about the possibility of a poor fairy flying around in disdain as I toss her more and more junk.

Ohh I love this! Graphics and music are both flawless. I went in without instructions, so at first I didn't know you could combine items - I was wondering if all there was to the game was "hurl everything out of the bag ASAP and hope you get lucky", which worked for level 1, but on level 2 I put two of the same item next to each other and they merged! :O It was then I realized the true gameplay.

Fittingly, it was only on level 3 that I realized you could merge them a second time (found while shifting my inventory to clear a way out). The challenge of whether to save and merge items or throw them out half-merged, and having to account for if there's enough space to even get them out, made for a uniquely fun yet difficult gameplay.

Really, my only critique is that sometimes the game just kept spawning driftwood and junk at the opening! Stop picking those up, Edgar!! (And one time the last boss spawned an unmovable block on the opening and refused to remove it, which was rude...)

Absolutely loved this! Very creative take on inventory management and the fast paced gameplay was a lot of fun. I like how the items in the bag also made navigating part of the challenge too. And you rounded it off with some great artwork and music too. Very well done!

It's not immediately clear in which orientation you need to place duplicate items to level them up. Other than that detail, this is a very solid and polished game. Congrats!!!

The gameplay heavily focusing on inventory management and combinations is such a good touch and great take for playability on this jam, can easily see myself playing this for hours no doubt!!

This was really well done, a slide puzzle inventory management, combined with active combat.

honestly the only real down side was the lack of sound effect.

mind you you would not need a lot of them.  maybe a sound every time something new appears in the inventory, and one when your hero's low on health to help with management.

REALLY good concept. I didn't catch on to the combo element until my second try but it adds so much. Balancing the upgrades and ability to move large objects gives this much more depth than my initial impression. Maybe just a little explanation screen after the title to illustrate the goal?

I wish more people would play this masterpiece

cover drew me in, gameplay reminds me of that storage game trending now. I liked it a lot. Only a couple things I would like to see different. The health being on the left would have made more sense to me. I didn't find this game was hard to pick out what to do, like a previous comment said it was. I think it was actually really intuitive to pick up. The last thing I think could use improvement was the consistency of difficulty felt strange. It was way too easy, where I lost focus and let the game sit there for a minute and I was still battling. Then when I got back to it, the boss was like way hard.

Great job though, this game was very inspirational :)

Awesome idea! A bit hard at the beginning without tutorial but once you understand how it works it really fun :)

I could definitely see this idea on a mobile medium (drag and drop would help).

Congrats!

Really nice puzzle game, Gets real hectic in the end once looting gets so fast. But I have to ask, is it intended that two medium shields is better than one breastplate? I think it went 1 -> 3 -> 5, so it feels actually a downgrade to get to the armor.

Hi LunarPsi!
A lot of the number balancing was put to the side so that we could get the core gameplay loop as solid as possible. We only had one programmer and he was doing so much work that we couldn't get to all the balancing for the jam :]

Really great puzzle game. finding out that i could combine items of the same type to make better gear introduced an entirely new way of think about the game. Instead of just throwing everything out to the hero i now had to decide if there was anything i should keep in order to make a better version of it. Overall great game. being honest I would buy this game if I had to

This is an amazing puzzle game with superb graphics and addictive gameplay ❤️
It really evokes the feeling of all those wacky puzzle titles on the Gameboy.
I would love if it had some fun sound effects too.
