This is a really fun entry! I love how the assets are very neat! the asteroids splitting and explosions are really eyecatchy! Sound effects are spot on and the camera shake adds a nice touch! I almost could feel the keyboard vibrating while smashing them all!! Great job!! Would love to see this one fleshed out into a full game!✨😊

Thank you for the kind words :-) I haven't yet decided if I'm going to continue working on it

This kind of game i would like to play as full release <3

Thank you for the kind words!

Very neat. Love the play. It reminds me of a chapter from Ratchet & Clank where it was first person but similarly you were running around blowing up commits/meteoroids as they got into your way. :)

As I moved from one world to the next, I was curious to see if there was any progression. I managed to get myself into quite a few situations where "...if I only had a multishot". Fortunately, the penalty for bumping into the asteroids were not that severe :)
I enjoyed the game, the controllers were intuitive and the audio was a good match with the visuals. Well done!

Developer

Thank you for the kind comments! I didn't have time to do more with it in the timeframe sadly :-)

I love that you have an actual voice for the ships computer. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you! It was actually super easy to do - the voice is AI generated using a free website called ElevenLabs. They have a ton of voices you can use and it just uses text to speech to generate.

Good game.  I love the asthetics and mechanics and think this was a solid submission. Great job

I liked the story, but it didn’t really feel like I was protecting planets, just moving between them. I think making it more protection focused would differentiate your game from asteroids.

Developer

You are so right! Sadly it was a mad dash at the very ed of the jam to get *something* in place as I had ran out of time

Thank you for the game!  It played smooth, and wasn't too difficult at a slow speed.

Polished Asteroids clone. It is fun to play for a while but some variation would have been nice. For example the space ship from the classic Asteroids wasn't there, or maybe it appears later?

Developer

No you just get the one ship. I wasn't going for a straight up clone of classic asteroids, mainly just the basic mechanics - blasting rocks and you get smaller ones.

By the way, this is the space ship in the classic Asteroids

Asterworlds is such a fun little experience that makes me feel cozy. It feels nice to play and I enjoyed the vibes.  Great job at scoping the project and doing all of the game aspects perfectly, cause this is the well rounded and beautifully done gaming experience.

The thing I would suggest to do next is to add a backward thruster or something to allow player more movement variety, I believe it would make the game even more fun to play. :)

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I hadn't thought about a backwards thruster but that would certainly be useful when you're heading full speed at a big rock heh!
