You really created a whole world with this game. I enjoyed the attention to detail in the art, music, and sound design, and the way that certain details you learn wandering the forest that seem purely decorative become important later. (I'm thinking of the part where you have to find the music.) I could have used a little more handholding in the UI: it took me a sec to realize what the controls were; I think it would help if the clickable titles became highlighted or something when hovering over them to indicate that they're interactive; would have like a counter to show you how many of an item you've already gathered. But I loved the atmosphere, and this was one of the few games I felt compelled to finish just to see what happened at the end.
Thanks so much for the kind words, and for the useful feedback. Highlighting the clickable options is a great idea and something I'll consider in future, and I completely agree with the counter idea too. Appreciate you seeing it through to the end!
This was a lovely game. I enjoyed how it read and played like a storybook. I'm not sure if you plan to develop this any further now that the game jam is done, but if you do I'd be excited to see it fully polished.
Thanks so much for the kind words. I think like everyone else I'm feeling pretty burned out after 10 solid days of work on it, but there's definitely been loads of great suggestions for improvements and I'd love to make the gameplay a bit more engaging so could absolutely see myself coming back to it again in future!
Thanks again
The art work is awesome and unique - it grasps the attention to wanna check out the game
Lovely story game with a good feeling finish.
Well done on creating and finishing a game!
Thanks so much for playing all the way through to the end! Appreciate the kind words
This is such a sweet, unique experience. Loved every second of it.
Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it
Such a lovely game! Cute and relaxing. Congratulations on the music too. I had a good time playing your game =)
Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words, really glad you enjoyed it!
Sweet story, just give up a little more volume on that voice, The concept and the general game are pretty neat for only 2 people. Try to add animations for the "boy" in the future if you can, that will look amazing :)
Thanks for playing and for the helpful feedback. Had to record the narration using a phone and then try to normalize/compress it afterwards so it definitely needs a lot of tidying up I agree. Would love to add proper animations at some point but couldn't get Midjourney to create a usable spritesheet. Will keep researching and see if I can implement it in future. Thanks again
Hey, that's ok, It was a nice experience. About animations: You want to look at Controlnet to control the pose --> youtube.com/watch?v=W3P8Av3YW8I
Oh wow, this looks interesting. Thanks for the link!
Not sure if it was my system or not, but I couldn't get into the forest. Not sure if I was supposed to click on something but all I saw was a fairly white screen with scattered trees (not sure if that was intentional or a bug on my end). The story idea sounded amazing and the artwork you generated is gorgeous! Voice acting was spot on too. Great job!
Thanks for taking the time to play and for the kind words. Appreciate you flagging the forest issue, will look into this!
Great job on the game, mate! I've left you a rating. Would you mind giving my game a spin and leaving a rating too?
PLAY Bipolar Cyberpunk Snail Adventure
Thanks so much for playing and for the rating! Yeah of course, will check it out now
It Was a very sweet story. And I love the animation. Nice work :)
Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words!
Very sweet story, and a very wholesome game overall!
Stretching a bit to see the theme here, and a little bit of animation and/or consistency in appearances (the Babu changes into many different forms throughout, I was really excited about the horned little creature that momentarily vanished) would really help take it up a notch.
Not sure if it was just for me, but the final menu wasn’t working.
Also, there’s no way those are the Babus real parents! 😜
Great job all-round! 🙌
Thanks so much for taking the time to play and for the feedback!
Yes the theme took a bit of a backseat, the thinking was that the Babu was being born in a storybook world, thus making it "Life in two dimensions", but I agree that it's not the strongest link to the theme.
I would've loved more consistency between the incarnations too, especially in relation to his parents! One of the pitfalls of using AI art without much knowledge of the prompts! Everything came out looking a little bit different to what was intended. Had a great time experimenting though,
Thanks again!
Wow, just a special piece of beauty videogame, Nice work!
Thanks for the kind words!
Absolutely gorgeous art direction. Good job!
Thanks so much for playing and the kind words!
Wow the art direction here is at a pro level! Great drawings, great music, great story, great narration. Nice done! Loved this little game!
Thanks so much for the kind words, really appreciate it. I absolutely loved Frank 2!
Music and narration just hit the spot! Really well done on the arkwork and the storytelling!
Such a cute little game/story!
Thanks so much for taking the time to play and for the kind words. Have just checked out your guys' game and loved it! Great work
What a wholesome approach to a game! Loved the personal narration and the storybook telling concept.
The artwork is amazing!
Great submission =)
Thanks so much for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it
The game looks really great. The action text felt a bit off though. I love the music and the sound effects. The narrator voice really enhances the storybook atmosphere of the game. Overall, the game did really well in telling this wholesome story.
Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words, as well as the feedback. Someone else pointed out the same thing so will definitely take this into consideration in future
Artwork, story narration, and music of this game are all amazing.
I think you could improve the game by adding some animation and some puzzles for the player to solve.
Thanks for the kind words and the suggestions, I completely agree with you about the animatons and puzzles, hoping to do more involved gameplay stuff in future!
Beautiful looking game and great voice acting. I really loved the design of the forest and the artistic use of white space.
Thanks for the kind words, really appreciated
The art is GORGEOUS!! the music and background sounds is very calming. Would've been better if the boy's walking is animated. you could lower the background sound effects and music a bit, it's drowning the narration voice.
The voice and accent is gorgeous too. hehe <3 Can we expect a Babu merch soon?
Thanks so much for the kind words, and the helpful feedback. Will definitely look into balancing the sound levels a bit. Would love to animate the boy's walk and adding some animation to the Babu would give him a bit more character too!
Haha the Babu could make a good plushie that's for sure!
I really enjoyed the game! The music and the art are really on point!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to play, and for the nice message!
No need to say thanks the game is fun i enjoyed playing it!
I would appreciate a lot if you could try my game too and leave a rate if you like it!
