That was quite fun. I started to get into it when I realized you really needed to time your attacks with a punish and try to keep out of their range as much as you can while still being able to hit them. Good stuff.
Smooth gameplay , great concept. Some Audio would have really immersed me but good job.
Very cool gameplay, it feels good. Gamepad support would have been a nice-to-have. Animations are tight, and wow, it's so fun when lots of enemies are present on screen!
Very nice feel, I went through it twice because it was so fun! Thank you for this :) Also nice seeing another UE dev :) I too went with blueprints as they are faster to prototype although it can get messy + it is easier to rename the project (for the build .exe) when you have 0 time at the end of the jam :D
Yohoho I killed em all! (and then realized I could do the skin change lmao)
Do you have one of the gamedev unreal courses? Any reccomendations, tips and head ups for learning unreal or 3D games in general?
Over time I have done quite some Unreal tutorials to understand the fundamentals, so I can understand the basic stuff really well.
Ye, I have done both the blueprint and C++ courses from GameDevTV for Unreal Engine. They are pretty good. I found that Stephen Ulibarri gave the best Unreal tutorials, he also features in parts of the GameDevTV Unreal courses.
He also has his own mega course which I recommend for learning Unreal: https://www.udemy.com/course/unreal-engine-5-the-ultimate-game-developer-course/
And the tip is just to keep going. Try to have a routine where you dedicate some time for learning/practising.
Don't feel bad if sometimes you wanna do something else or can't figure it out - just take a break. Over the long term just try to keep busy with it.
Good luck and have fun on your gamedev journey!
Many thanks

I couldn't play it properly, lags on my pc but I watched the video and rated it on that. I think it look awesome, the mechanics look great and looks like a ton of fun.
Thank you for taking a look and sharing your thoughts!
It's a shame to hear it doesn't run as well - wasn't thinking that it would be that heavy. The Paragon assets look really good, but come with a performance cost. Optimizing projects is still a skill I need to study some more.
I recognize your name from the Stephen Ulibarri discord! Cool to see! I'm still on the grind to finish his great tutorials ;)
It's my graphics card. It hates ue5. lol. Nothing to do with optimizing. Ue5 default is more demanding. I played it on stream if you wanna see what it looks like and also gave what feedback I could based on the screenshot and video.:)
I took a look at your stream recording. Thank you for you for commentating. I hope to make some time in the future to add some extra features.
Cool Idea. It took me a little bit to figure out how to switch sides. I just started pushing buttons until it worked. It would have been cool to have a reason to switch sides. Something like the holy side can only damage the dark and the dark can only damage the holy. But it was fun I always enjoy some hack and slash type games.

Ye, indeed. I wanted to add more of a tutorial and add extra abilities and a reason to switch sides. Maybe that will come later. Thank you for playing and your thoughts on the game!
Good job, smooth, but the dash part still a little lag, but generally it's good
Thank you for playing and sharing your thoughts! Indeed, the dash can be polished up some more. I think some camera smoothing would make it feels less laggy.
Neat and polished great job :D. Just a question though, is it implemented in blueprints or C++? (and btw it's good to see other UE developers)
Thank you! I did the implementation in blueprints, since it's faster as a prototype and more easily adjustable if you wanna change things up. For a more real project you would probably do the core mechanics in C++ for organization purposes, which allows you to more easily search through the code as well.
However, doing it all in blueprints should be fine as well if you organize well.
If you wanna learn some more Unreal I recommend Stephen Ulibarri: https://www.udemy.com/course/unreal-engine-5-the-ultimate-game-developer-course/
Wow really polished combat! As others have said some sound would have made a big difference but it still feels great to play as is.
Good work!
Nice to hear you enjoyed it! Indeed, some sound would likely make a big difference. Would love to add some later on. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Well done, loved the fight. Some sound would have enhanced the experience even more.
Thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts! You're right with sounds it would be more epic, hoping to add them later on.
A job well done on your game, pal! I've rated it. Could you play my game and rate it as well?
Thanks! I've played your game as well and shared some thoughts.
just love it. Manage to complete it, gj! Keep on on this project
Thank you for the kind words and for playing!
Very cool prototype, I can see this being the start of a base defense type of game. Keep up the good work and hope you continue to build upon this foundation.
Thank you for your thoughts on the game and for playing! Would love to add some extra mechanics in the future.
Nice prototype! Everything feels very smooth and well polished. I like the combat and the responsiveness of the healthbar. The visual effect of the healthbar decreasing feels very satisfying. Can't wait to see what you will add next :)
Thank you for your thoughts on the game and for playing! I indeed spent some time on getting the healthbars right, I enjoy the effect as well. I looked at how Control did their healthbars, since I liked them so much.
Well done, was very smooth
Thank you for your thoughts on the game and for playing!
