Stellar entry! I enjoyed (almost) every second of it! The different mechanics work really well together and I loved that each one had a different death state for the zombie(i.e. the acid destroyed them) The lighting was also great, made activating the machines easy and readable. After 35 casualties I managed to beat the game, excellent work!

Developer(+1)

(almost? :o,.. don't leave me in suspence!! :D)
Thanks for the feedback, glad you noticed and enjoyed the different death states, and lighting.
35 fantastic Zomployees! Great going Zom team! :D

I should've added what the almost part was for feedback purposes, my bad there. The only issue was the dead bodies I left behind would slide around too much and it would end up in spikes or acid because I fat fingered my jump. Maybe it would be better if they had more weight or you have to push against them for half a second before they budge? Either way the Zomployees did an excellent job and deserve a pizza party for all their hard work :)

Developer(+1)

Excellent feedback on the dead bodies weight! thanks for that! :)

nicely done! absolute joy to play.

Developer

Thanks! :) Glad you liked it. :)

I really like the look of your game. The glowing is awesome, the different color zombies, and the ui looks really clean too. It all works together very well with the humor and atmosphere. My one critique is that I feel like the zombie corpses are a bit too easy to shove far. They should move when you crash into them, because it's nice to be able to place them, but right now they act like they are on ice and it's easy to send one flying when you didn't mean to. I also agree with others that a bit less time to respawn would be good. But it's a nicely polished game that really works well! Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Great feedback about the Zombie corpses being to light, Thanks so much for that!
Zombie random colours took me a bit to get working, I don't play with shaders often. But So glad I did, as it gave it so much more visually (for somthing so simple as random Hue and Saturation).
Thanks again, glad you enjoed it, and apreciate the feedback!

Great game!  Kind of addicting, really

Developer

Thanks! Really glad you liked it :).

Really nice mechanics and the glowing sticks is a nice addition to cool aesthetics. I've seen this game yesterday in the stream, and today I finally played it myself. The way you can climb the walls is a bug or feature? Or maybe a bug that became a feature? :) Good work!

Developer

Thanks :) Glad you liked it, the 2D lights nearly broke me in the middle of the Jam, Wouldnt work at first and using 2021.3, no tutorials matched up,.. but i'm so glad i got it to work :).

This is really smart game, I truly enjoy every single minute of playing it ! I would not changed anything , it is really nicley done, the gameplay is smooth, the music is relexing, I want it on my phone :P

Developer

Thanks a lot! Really glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing and the feedback!
Who knows, maybe I'll be able to flesh this project out and get it on an app store in the future :)

A great game. The radiation stick is a fun little addition. I enjoy the zombies changing color when new iterations are reborn. A really great job over all.

Developer

Yey, glad you commented on the colour changing zombies :D. It took a fair bit of working out on getting the shader to do that, and to access it! Was my favourite element :D.
Thanks for playing, and for the feedback! I really apreciate it!

Really awesome! I love all the little details, like the uranium sticks for light but being the reason that you only have 30s per zombie. Just enough of a challenge and a really enjoyable experience.

Without downloading and looking at the source and project in unity, I'm wondering if the jumping bug has to do with the ground collision detection. There's a slight bounce in the walk, and I'm wondering if while bouncing during the walk, your colliders lose contact with the ground and so the game thinks you're in the air as if you already jumped and so you can't jump again.

Developer

Thanks for playing, i'm really glad you enjoyed it! :)

Hadn't thought about if the animation (wiggle on the Z axis) would be the cause of any issues, will look into that.
Found it tricky to pin down these kinds of bugs, as it works fine for me on the browsers I use :).
Hope to figure it out and clean it up for future builds.
Thanks again!

Very nice idea of integrating the theme in the main mechanic! And the puzzles were really nice to solve. Some collision problems, but nothing to diminish the fun of the play :-)

Developer(+1)

Thanks fo playing, glad you enjoyed it :).

Fun concept and well executed! I did run into one bug on level 8 after I made the first sacrifice, when the newly spawned character landed, I couldn't move him at all, but after resetting, it was working again. I like how creative the levels get the further you go.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback.
Glad you stuck with it after the bug. I've not been able to pin that down. What brower was you using? It's very intermittent on who it effects.
Glad you like it, thanks again!

Wow, Great Game and concept! I enjoyed it a lot! Congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! glad you liked it :)

Great game - the concept was fun and the mechanics were good, just had issues jumping sometimes. People mentioned stopping the wall jumping, but that helps keep my zomtalities down :P

Developer

I probably should have just fixed the wall jumping :P, but I thought it was fun to leave in :), who doesnt like shimmying up walls.
Future versions need to pin this down a bit more though, as it comes across as buggy :)

Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!

The music choice was spot on. Perfect at the office elevator music, the zombie sprites were great. The sprite lighting was well done and well used. The green color from the uranium rods a perfect choice as green lends itself to an eerie vibe.  Your choices all around were great. The controls were good. Awesome Job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! Really glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for the feedback, it's much apreciated.

Nice fun puzzle game! Well done!

Developer

Thanks :), glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Nice little puzzle platformer! some smoother controls/collisions would make this amazing!

Developer(+1)

Any areas specifcally you found clunky?
Some people have been having some issues with jump+controls at times, which I've not been able to pin down, I suspect it's to do with the type of browser, ocmbined with the new input system and WebGL as a whole.
Glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I'm not particular sure where the un smoothness comes from, maybe things feel too frictiony? still enjoyed it though!

Submitted(+1)

Great concept! I agree with Xypes, if you cleaned up the ability to jump on the wall, it would force your game mechanics to be utilized more.

Developer

Heh, i debated working more on the jump mechanics, but left it in to add a bit more fun (who doesnt like shimmying up walls or Zombie bodies :P), but it does need fixing/pinning down more on what it can and can't do :P. Something I need to figure out first before moving further with the game.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Much apreciated!

Submitted(+1)

wow! what a creative idea. I liked it a lot. Maybe without wall jump it would be better.

Developer(+1)

Hah, I left the wall jump in to be more fun :P I thought :D
But I should nail down what I want to do with the whole Jump thing :).

Thanks for the feedback :), glad you liked it! Hope future versions will be better for you :D.

Thanks for playing!

Fun entry! Controls were somewhat clonky, especially when a new zombie spawned (seems like you were not supposed to be holding any key until it actually spawned fully), but they were very responsive when it did work. The puzzles were fun, the level design was definitely good, and I liked the way you played with lightning.

Btw; I'm not sure if you intended for the zombies to be able to jump up the walls, but you could get rid of that by applying a Physics2D Material with both the settings set to 0 :D

Good job on your submission!

Developer

thanks for the feedback on the respawn/controls front. I never had this issue in playtesting myself, and I tried to break it in many ways :D.
What browser were you using please? I'm having trouble replicating some of these player input bugs. Think it's a weird combo of the new system, WebGL, and browsers.
The zombie jump bug/feature was left in intentially, as i thought it add a bit more fun to be able to scamper up a wall at times :P,.. but I need to pin it down a bit more rather then leave it buggy :). Maybe sort out the coyette jump instead as somone else sugested.
I had forgot about physics materials for surfaces though :D, so thanks for the reminder!

Thanks for playing! I apreciate it!

That was really zomthing else!
Very entertaining, awesome use of lighting.  The art is great.

Very in line with the theme, and ouuh, procedural zombies.

A+ game!

Thanks for brainging this game to us!

41 fantastic Zomployees! Great teamwork! :D
Really glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing, and your feedback!

Very fun game to play! The character won't jump correctly if you press D and jump at the same time. (its caught between the character's collision). Very nice project!.

Developer

I left in the ability to Shimmy up walls (by pressing D and jumping up the walls), but i'm not sure if this is the same issue you're refering to.

Either way I need to make a firmer decition on the jump mechanic and lean into it one way or the other.

Thanks for playing, glad you found it fun!
