So cool game!!! the art is good. The only slight thing missing is sound effect when you open a future bubble and it could pop instead of shrinking too.

If you can check out our game.

Brilliant mechanics!!! A lot of fun and loved the visuals and audio as well! Also found the gameplay quite balanced! Only thing i didn't like was falling right after walking into a part of the map that was out of view, but other than that, this one is really cool!!

I would be interested to know how you made this! This is a really cool mechanic. and the rest of the game is very polished. Your submission is definitly in my top 5!

You can get a better idea of exactly how we did it if you download our source code, but basically there is a world scene in Godot with two tilesets, one for the regular map, and one for the apocalyptic future that you see through the portals. All the portal effects are controlled by shaders, and the inside uses the texture of the apocalypse tileset, along with the collisions from the tiles. Thanks for playing!

I tried to play it on my Mac using the itch.io app and only got a black screen. Not sure if this happens to anyone else but it removes a bit of convenience

It works fine on my browser (Chrome). The mechanics are pretty cool. Good work there, I needed to use a real mouse to play but it was worth it. Graphics were good and the audio suited the somber mood of it all.

A few times I would jump through slanted platforms. It was a bit annoying because I felt that I made it comfortably but it didn’t detract too much from the overall experience.

This game is awesome! I really enjoyed playing this. I think the gameplay has a very nice balance to it - with sufficient check points and a decent level of difficulty. I love the time-warp mechanic - you made some fun challenges with it! The parallel dimension effect looks cool, and the lo-fi look, sounds and music fits together perfectly!
I noticed a small bug (or is it a feature?!), where you fall through some of the sloped platforms when you move on them. I guess it could be a feature, because it just means you have to be extra careful when walking on a decayed platform, which totally makes sense, haha :D

Developer

Falling through the platforms is a bug feature that has to do with the fact that the platforms are semi-solids, so you can walk through the side of them. We couldn't figure out how to make it so both ways the collisions would line up into a slope so the player couldn't fall through. Thanks for playing our game!

Close to perfect, will keep playing. Currently in my top 3.
Love the music, the art, the mood and most importantly the gameplay.
This will be one of the games I want to show to everybody.

Cool concept, I can imagine the switching between times being really good for story telling. Would like to see this expanded

This was an amazing game, as said before it is not a new idea, but the looking to the future gave it a new perspective and I liked it. There is so much you can do with that, even create a story (sad stories always work with the future perspective and making people feel something :D)

Good work on this one!

Yeah, I wish we had time to flesh out and implement the story we came up with, but getting the mechanic working was way harder than either of us expected.

The gameplay, visuals, audio, and bloody mood are amazing. The idea isn't new but this is a very cool take on different dimensional platform mechanic(in here you look into the future). The artwork was epic, and the music creates a dystopian ambiance which fits the game so well. I really liked this puzzle platformer.
