Pretty cool idea. As others have mentioned the seasons thing was not too clear, but after reading your answers it makes sense :)
Other than that the mechanics were easy to pick up and it is a fun little addictive game to play. Good job :)

Thanks Mark , glad you liked it :)

Cool concept! I'm a big fan of tower defense games, but I've never tried one where you move the towers around like this!
I like the temperature-mechanic - the freezing/warming of the ice&fire towers made for some interesting gameplay, but I never quite figured out how to use them correctly. Or maybe there was something else I missed.
Good fun! :)

Thank you!! Glad a tower defence fan enjoyed it.

I myself am not a big fan of the genre, mostly because I don't like the finality of placing a tower and not beeing able to move it,.. so that's how this mechanic was born ^^

Fire towers heat up.

Frost towers cool down.

Water towers apply a WET effect:

WET enemies cool down twice as fast.

Only WET enemies can be stunned with a Thunder tower.

^^^^

That's the gist of the tower mechanics. I did have this information pop up during gameplay, but I think I'd need some images to make it clearer.

Cool!

I think that element concept could have a lot of potential :)

I think I'm too dumb to get the seasons - I just placed the towers ^^. The visuals are really nice (I like low poly graphics :-)). Also this variation of a tower defense is completely new to me. Very cool idea that you have to change the positions of your towers.

Changing the speed would be cool. Sometimes I really was looking for a fast forward option. Nice would be also if you could upgrade the range/damage of your towers.

Overall a really great game :-)

Thanks for checking it out Tomato Salat :) Yes the game lacks some well needed explanations of the core mechanics! Seasons change the ambient temperature, so during summer the skulls heat up on their own, and during winter they cool down to a halt!

Speeding up and upgrading are great ideas to implement if we ever pick this project back up. Glad you enjoyed it!

The big skulls are tough :-D But I really like the tower mechanics, and the seasons.

Well done on the game :-)

Yeah some could even say they are pretty 'cool' *nudge nudge* ^^

Thank you for playing!

Hello! The mechanics you implemented were really good, congratulations :) Game was fun and enjoyable.

Cheers!

Thank you! :)

I'll be honest, I might become addicted if I continue to play. Interesting ideas with towers. Although, adding more visual feedback of what is going on and showing  if my towers work at all can make it way better. Anyway, I will try again once I'm free, liked it!

Wow, glad you enjoyed it! Maybe having an plain old "healthbar" for the temperature would make it clearer, and some tower shooting sfx might help keep track of things. Thank you for your feedback!

Interesting tower defense mechanics! I think i still don't understand tower season changes, what do they do, but i like this game :)

Developer (1 edit)

Glad you liked it, the season affect the ambient temperature, so during summer the skulls heat up on their own and during winter they cool down, making them slower but harder to destoy. I definently should have invested more time in making the mechanics clearer and explaining them better. Thanks for playing!

Really enjoyed the game, like Screenington said the audio and the mood was EPIC! Audio unfortunately played out, so in the end it was just the SFX playing. Couldn't beat level 10, almost did though. I bet on the second run through I could do it, but there is so many games to play :D

Developer (1 edit)

Hahaha glad you liked. Yes I forgot to loop the soundtrack, I personaly ended up liking the silence after a while, but I had already listened to the track a bunch of times, also it ends up looking like a bug ^^ And yeah, level 10 is a chaotic one. ^^ Thanks for playing!

The audio and the mood of the game was epic. Tower defense isn't normally my style of games, but I did enjoy this one. The instructions could be a little more clearer on how to play the game. And controls could also be mentioned in the game page desc.

Developer

Thank you! Yes for the next project I'll  try making some 'slides' to explain the core mechanics with pictures!
