Very ambitious game for a jam. I thought the game worked really well and also looked great! When I got to balancing the iron and fuel on the plane, I was really impressed! The controls were pretty intuitive. I wanted to give you some feedback about the cloud platforming section, it was hard to see where you were going to land. I think adding a shadow below the character could help here. Then once I got the wood, I just had to die to get back to the house. After I collected the wood, there were two music tracks playing, which was a bit overwhelming. The flying controls are really good and I also liked the characters. Great work!

Developer

Thanks very much for the feedback! Great advice about adding a shadow, the lack of depth perception made that much harder than it was supposed to be. Never experienced the 2 musics playing at once but I'm not surprised as I didn't use a central soundmanager kind of class, I will in future!

Cool relaxing game, loved the music and graphics and the gameplay was enjoyable. Good job!

Very unique atmosphere! I love this music!!! Your game looks really good!

Developer(+1)

Thanks very much. I actually threw the music together in an hour! There's 4 separate tracks, each about a minute long. There are out of time and probably out of tune notes all over the place but I was very happy with what I made so quickly as I'd never made a song with a midi keyboard before!

I'm a simple guy: I'm always impressed when I see a full 3D game :D

The start is a bit difficult: jumping from clouds to clouds in order to get some woods may be a bit too hard for the beginning of the game, but I've managed to do it and I've built a cool plane!

I've used it, and it was quite cool (even if it was not balanced ^^). That's said, I could not find the iron, 'cause everything went to black after some times of fly: not sure if it was intentional or not ^^'

If I understand well it's your first time building a 3D game, so congrats to you!

Developer

Hey thanks for playing.

I realise now that I actually messed up by changing the compass last minute and not realising I had the North and South backwards! The Iron is very nearby to the north not the south >.<.

The Last tiny island is to the south and everything goes dark that way intentionally (didn't have time to add lightning!).. It's actually bugged I think as I wasn't able to buy the torch you need when running in browser despite it working when I did my last minute check locally.

Definitely needed to get this one playtested earlier to realise these BIG issues, but I was getting quite run down so didn't push it as I was aiming to learn lots (which I succeeded in) and not to win anything. I'll fix it when the judging period is over and then say goodbye to this game forever haha

Really involved for a jam game!

I got stumped trying to collect iron. Found some in the southern sky, but couldn’t figure out how to harvest it.

Great work here, I’m impressed!

Developer

Thanks very much for trying it out!

I learned a lot, definitely went a little too involved and didn't playtest enough or focus on fun enough. Since I felt like I was doing it to learn and it wasn't fun I didn't reach out to many friends to beg them to test it, and I think that shows!

I died trying to get to wood island ngl, i'm terrible at genuine skill-games :)

I understood enough to critique the start though.

Feels super well put together.

Gave you an itch follow, if you like what you see on my page consider doing the same.

Thanks very much, will check it out!

My girlfriend agrees 100% the wood is too hard. I always make games too hard it seems! I need to listen to her more :D

Very chill game and I do like me some low-poly style, however I felt like even when your plane is not properly balanced it didnt really affect much. I do like the concept a lot though.

Developer

Hey thanks for playing.

Yeah 100% agree, it took me so long to get everything working from start to finish that I didn't spent enough time balancing the balancing/weights!

Quite interesting game with nice graphis-style!

I sometimes got confused with the mouse/keyboard-buttons for action/pickup. And i did not manage to return with the wood via cloud-taxi. But as i fell down and respawned near the house, i had the log still in the hand :-) (Dont know if that is intended, felt a bit like cheating)

Hey thanks for playing!

Yeah it was my first attempt at a 3d game so I ended up spending a lot of time learning and ran out of energy/time for polish to explain things like that!

It was intended that you fall coming back with the wood so that you realise it is a safe way to bring materials home even if you run out of fuel later. I had planned to add a little sheep that walks off the side on loop and spawns back to make you know in advance this is intended but I ended up prioritizing other things! I think I last minute added some dialog from Nimbo hinting to things ending up back here, but I added too much dialog to be honest I doubt anyone reads it!

Guilty as charged, i am... I started to speed click through the dialogs, hehe
