This was really fun! Really enjoyed the low poly animals rolling about. Everything about this little game feels very cohesive (and silly).

love the idea! the physics and low poly models made me laugh, and the sfx matched the silliness. one thing i think could help convey the theme of balance is after the player makes their decision, to have the platforms move as if the two sides were weighted on a scale (i.e. the heavier side flops downwards, the lighter side flops upwards). overall nice execution, definitely learned more about animal weights than i expected lol

You have a README which is great, but you'll need a License file as well (these are two main criteria for open source category). Great README though.

I'm really getting "Who sank the boat?" vibes from this game 😅.  The physics in this game had me laughing so good - love that the animals just all fall off or rather yeet'ed off.

Sound effects are hilarious and would love to see some music for this game (would make it so much funnier too depending on what you chose). Great take on the theme. It's funny, but also maybe a glitch(?) that the animals from the previous question are still hanging around on the balance. Great submission and really made me laugh lots.

Thanks for playing the game Mish, I’m really glad that you enjoyed it! I didn’t know that I needed a license specified, thanks for the heads up

Yeah it's probably not written anywhere for the game jam, however a README and License is a standard requirement for something that is open source (industry standard rather than "hackathon" or "game jam" requirement). Nice work on your submission though 😊.

Really cool little game. I enjoyed playing it, especially the animations of the animals falling in and throwing them out fit the game very well. I also really liked the low poly animals, it fits the game very well. The only thing I was missing, was a nice soundtrack. Maybe some quirky music would have fit. I also liked your video were you briefly explained on how you built the game.

Well done. Congratulations!

Interesting game and the animation is very fun. I wonder why giraffes are so small compare to bear😂

Developer

Had to scale them wrong to keep people guessing haha! Thanks for playing

This game is really fun, and I had a blast playing! My high score was 9, which I feel like is pretty good. I liked the way the animal models exploded out, but I noticed sometimes there were some animals that were not in the question on screen. Not sure if that was a glitch. I added a screenshot. I think A little music could have also added to the mood.  The physics really made this game a lot of fun. Great work!

thanks for the detailed feedback! I think 9 is a great score

This was loads of fun! I love the split-second mental trickery: the large number doesn't always mean the heavier weight. :D (The 3D animals bursting into existence and toppling off the platforms were a bonus laugh lol).

Developer

I’m glad it made you laugh! Thanks for playing it

Fun little game! Love how the things spawn in and fly off. Quite simple yet still an entertaining game!

thanks for playing!!

It’s so silly, I just love the transitions. “OK monkeys, get outta here, bring in the giraffes!” lololololol

Man, i felt like i got way more into that than i should have! Quite addictive, and seeing all the animals getting jumbled and throwing each other off the platform was really enjoyable, and a smart way to increase uncertainty (wait, which one was the capybara again?)

Developer

We love an animal jumble!! Thanks for playing ultrascopia.

My favorite game so far by a long shot. A cute, fresh and entertaining quiz game. I like the old school, flat-shaded polygon models. The board tilting animations are fun, and I like that sometimes models from a previous rendering will remain on the boards with the new models. The variety of animals is interesting too. Some questions are easy and others are a coin toss unless you are well-versed in the weights of various adult animals. Sounds were simple and fitting. The flaws are the simplicity of the presentation. A checkerboard pattern on the boards could have added visual interest. I would have added something abstract to the background to make players scratch their heads with wonder. Nonetheless, a lovely game. Thanks for the upload.

This game is immensely fun, and a wonderful example of a good jam game. The idea is simple but enjoyable, and the design of the game is very good. Amazing job!

Pretty good take on the theme. It's surprisingly fun despite its simplicity.
