Really interesting idea! Fun to be a dog and use the power of your nose to sniff out the thief. Lovely art and nice effects. Took me a while to figure out how to use the scents though! Thank you for speeding-up the text when you hold the mouse down :) I accidentally activated the same dialog multiple times, so it helped get past it!

NOOO it's a Obra dinn/Golden Idol style game! Too bad you didn't open sourcing it...i reeeeally wanted to see the code of this one.

Clever take on the theme too, perfectly fitting and art and music are amazing! Well done!

What a fun little detective game.

Nice artistic detective game! Sniffing out clues as a dog detective is funny.

Fun mystery game! I really enjoyed the art style, music and gameplay.  I also liked how you implemented a clue confirmation after getting a few correct, like in Obra Dinn. A very solid mystery game with very interesting mechanics, great work!

great artstyle and gameplay, once i figured out that identification of smells mechanic

moody music too.

great job!

Great work. Reminds me of the golden era of point and click games. I was a little confused on what to do with the information I got. And the dialog was somethimes split in weird ways.

Good game

Fantastic art style with an interesting core mechanic. Congrats.

This is quite a nice and cozy game, the music fits well for the most part. the sound gets a bit much when speeding through the text bubbles. I like the pixel art style; it's got enough resolution to it that I can make out distinctive features of the characters. I couldn't get into the mystery of the game but will be sure to circle back and give it another go.

Really loved the core concept here and the audio fit great! Without the hint and just mashing names into it though, I would not have been able to get it. I think the core problem for me, while trying to avoid too many spoilers, the related scents around this person were actually found on different characters around them and did not pop up when I actually sniffed the culprit. So I had no clue who it was in the end. But otherwise, I had a lot of fun and the core loop of narrowing down scents and using them to paint the picture was really fantastic. Great job!

Love it. Beautiful game, love the concept. Could not solve the case though XD

Love your take on the theme, so good. Woof.

Ah, the conversations need a way to cancel them. A click outside or esc or something

Solved it! That was a neat puzzle!

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! Glad you could finish it, I agree a button to skip to the end of conversations would be nice. Will definitely be added if I expand this idea into a full game.

Really fun, glad I played it! I love th deduction of the scents, a neat puzzle.

Creative point and click game. The art and music fit well together, and the theme interpretation is creative. I wasn’t able to solve the puzzle, maybe because I’m too impatient, haha. I will most likely come back and give it a second try later. I want to solve the mystery. Good job on the entry.

For anybody that can't figure out the note and wants a hint so you can see the ending: here is the first letter of each word of the correct answer, minus the culprit's name.

Really love this game, the art and music were enjoyable, labeling the scents was fun, and although I didn't  complete the letter because of my poor English, I still enjoyed it a lot!

Very good submission, Every element has had care giving to it, creating a well rounded experience, I do think perhaps the game could do a slightly better job of explaining /showing how the scent system works, but thats more likely my own ability to understand puzzle games.

Kudos on this fabulous game :D :D :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! Dang yeah tutorials are hard, every time I think I have enough explanation but I'm usually wrong.

Thanks for your submission! It was very fun to have the eureka moments and try to connect each symbol with a smell. It made me think about how dogs associate the smell to concepts and things :)

The smell spread was also really nice, you could inspect the whole scene and there was some good “Ahhhh” when I figured out where to smell exactly.

The art on some smaller items made it a bit hard to figure out what was going on.

In the end I didn’t manage to complete the letter, nothing what I thought was making sense to complete it – I guess I’m not that good on detective games.

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! My next feature would have been a hint system, but I didn't quite have time for it.

Nice graphics, I seem to of got stuck after sniffing the 4 points. Maybe i missed something but wasn't sure how to progress from there?

Developer(+1)

There are 12 scents total (hit the arrow to go to the back room to see more). Then once you've identified the scents you should be able to deduce what happened and fill out the note. Hm, or are you talking about the 4 conversations? You can click around anywhere on the screen to sniff there in case you didn't know that.
