Nice one and very challenging! Love the Pokémon vibes. I'll keep trying to beat the third dragon!

Developer(+1)

Keep at it and you'll beat it eventually! Thanks for playing

Very well done.  Art was excellent and the gameplay was fun and easy to understand.  Also, thanks for introducing me to peritune!  The music was so high quality and fit the game very well.

Thanks for playing, and appreciate the positive feedback! And yep, Peritune is awesome!

I loved it! I felt younger, playing pokemon again haha. Congrats

Developer

Hey, thanks for checking it out! Happy to hear it was able to evoke memories of pokemon

I ran into a slight issues on one of the levels where I selected a tile during an attack and ended up with a overlapped tile that was not behaving properly. Fun game and I got absolutely destroyed by the sun dragon. below is a picture of the overlapping tile, column five row three. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and reporting the issue! Do you happen to remember what you did to cause this? I've been trying to reproduce this issue for a while now but can't seem to get this overlapping bug to pop up. And yeah, the sun dragon can be tricky to beat!

Submitted(+1)

I think it might have been triggered when I double clicked a  scale which activated a combo chain.

A classic formula never fails, love the dragons and the pixel art style of the game.

Developer

Yup, I agree- I got so distracted playing this game while working on it. Probably just me starting to relapse into my PAD addiction. Glad you liked it and thanks for playing!

Love the pokemony look, gameplay is almost as cool as the flute in the background.

Developer

Thanks! Pokemon was a big inspiration for almost all the dragon designs. And yeah I'm glad you liked the music, Peritune really has some bangers on there

Submitted

Fun to play! The sound that the scales make when moving them around was satisfying.

Developer

Thanks! And super glad you appreciated the clicks, I also felt like it made a big difference before v.s after I added those in.

Love puzzles and dragons and this game doesn't disappoint. Art and music were both great and all the "moves" to get the crazy combos were coming back to me by the end. great game.

I wish there was more damage from larger matches and maybe the combo multiplier goes up for chaining matches .

I definitely wish there were more match three games with the dragging component out there instead of just swapping 2 . combos are where its at.

Great work

Developer

Always glad to hear from a fellow recovering addict enjoyer of Puzzle and Dragons! Yep will take another look at the damage formula since another poster had mentioned damage being a bit low.

Couldn't agree more with your last point - I wish PAD mechanics were in more games! Once I played PAD I couldn't ever enjoy another match-3 since I felt myself wanting the flexibility of dragging orbs around to make combos.

Thanks so much for playing!

"recovering addict"  hehe  YEEEEAAAH

Visuals are charming. I wish making larger matches(like match-5) will do more damage than it is.

Developer

Thanks! I'm super proud of the art (though I didn't make any of it - that was entirely the other folks I was working with so special thanks to them).  Matching 5 should do a bit more damage since the formula is just combo multiplier times number of orbs matched per color? But maybe that could use a buff so thanks for the feedback on that.

Ahhhh as a classic match-3 addict it took me a while to adapt to your tile-moving and make slightly better use of the dragon scales... but I still coudn't become the king!! I wish I could revive from where I died and confront that dragon directly instead of starting all over again!! It's such a great game!

Developer

Ah for sure, yeah I definitely can see how it'd be a bit frustrating having to fight everything from the beginning, so might fix that at some point. I think the tile dragging to make combos takes a bit of getting used to, but thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!

Submitted

Love it so much that I've become the king of dragon already lol.

Developer

Nice job! Happy you liked it!

Haven’t played PAD but this game looks great with a strong retro vibe. The unusual Match 3 aspect of where I can drag items around multiple blocks was new and took some getting used to, but after that, it was pretty fun!

Found one UI bug where sometimes if you select a charm and drop it at the same location, it disappears for some reason and newer charms overlap when this happens when dropping down.

Even then it was really fun!! Great job xD

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking it out! Also will look into that bug - I thought I fixed it but I guess it's still popping up. Thanks for reporting it!

I agree with the comment below, not a huge fan of tile matching games, but it's fun! great tutorial, very nice art style, great idea to have the differences between elements. nice job, great entry!

Developer

Hey thanks for playing! Happy you gave it a shot (as so many others did) despite not being a big tile match fan!

Submitted

Nice work, I really liked your graphics ! And even though I'm not a fan of tile-matching games, yours is fun to play. Too bad the music wasn't original, I think there are plenty of composers/sound designers out there who would be glad to work on something like this (but I'm a composer, so I might be biased ahah). But overall, it's a fun game, congrats !

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! As for music - I've been using Peritune or other royalty-free music sites for a while now since I have 0 musical talent lol. Would definitely be interested in working with a composer for future projects!

Really enjoyed this and played a lot of it, the audio was great and addicting to play. nice work!

Developer

Thanks for playing!!

First impression on main menu background image: pokemon omg! Amazing graphic and audio! Don't have too much experience in match game but getting more and more familiar and finally got all levels cleared yay! Like the game.

Developer

Haha yep, we based a bunch of the dragon designs off Pokemon. Glad you had fun with it!

Submitted

Not a huge fan of match games but this was really fun! I like the idea of different elemental scales for different enemies. Very well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted

Pretty fun! In the first two levels I sort of ran out of useful gems and spent a lot of time combining useless ones just to clear the board. Not quite the cascading fun of candy crunch, but decently fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you found it fun!

The actual execution of the game was done fairly well, but I feel the homage to puzzles and dragons was too direct. I'm cool with games taking strong inspiration from another game, but I don't think there were literally any mechanics that were altered from the original puzzles and dragons game.

Overall, the devs seem to know what they are doing, but I think they would be served best by trying to bring something more original to what they are doing.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah it's definitely very similar to Puzzle and Dragons, even down to the fact that the game itself is about dragons hehe. I guess our actual intention with this project was to make a PC version of PAD since the free orb movement mechanic doesn't seem to exist anywhere outside of PAD mobile/3DS (or PAD clones also on mobile). I think we did have some ideas to expand on PAD mechanics but didn't really have time to incorporate them so we just polished what we had instead.
