Super unique and interesting idea. Wasn't too sure how to eat food and the AI overpowered me pretty quickly. There's a lot potential in the concept.

really unique visuals and audio. Liked that the game got straight into the action too!

One of the most polished games I've played throughout this jam! Easy to understand, fun puzzling and exceptional visuals and audio. Amazing work all around!

The explosion animations are really satisfying! And good use of the theme

Nice art! (I used the same asset pack in my game lol) Really clever use of the theme and I also appreciated that it was playable on mobile. Great work!

This is such a cool idea! Was hard to get the timing down but I liked that retrying is so quick. Really like the art and the music too. Great work team!

Love the smash bros inspiration here! Also the transformation mechanic was really creative and has a lot of potential to be further expanded!

Love the idea! Fun, easy to learn gameplay,  great art and a chill soundtrack that sets the mood well. Great work!

Thanks for the feedback!

- Yeah the original game this is based on doesn't count moving an orb to the same spot as a move (like picking up an orb and dropping it in the same location immediately without moving any other orbs). We were originally going to have that feature but we just didn't get to it. This could probably be one for your Feature Cemetery :)

- Was hoping the tutorial illustrated this but it seems like based on feedback we probably needed to emphasize this mechanic a bit more, so agree with you on this

One feature I believe we had thought of implementing was some kind of power-up system, which could change the orbs colors and help you string together bigger combos. (Again based on a feature in the original game). Another was having "damage orbs" that you would have to avoid matching as they would hurt you instead of contributing to your attack.

Nice job! Good to hear that you didn't find it too hard

Thanks for playing! Yeah in the end it kind of just becomes get more combos = do more damage overall due to the multipliers regardless of the typing

Thanks for checking it out! I think that might've been the light dragon? Anyways, glad you had fun with it

Thanks for playing! Sorry if you felt it was too difficult - the mechanics definitely might take some getting used to

Keep at it and you'll beat it eventually! Thanks for playing

Thanks for playing, and appreciate the positive feedback! And yep, Peritune is awesome!

Hey, thanks for checking it out! Happy to hear it was able to evoke memories of pokemon

Thanks for playing and reporting the issue! Do you happen to remember what you did to cause this? I've been trying to reproduce this issue for a while now but can't seem to get this overlapping bug to pop up. And yeah, the sun dragon can be tricky to beat!

Pretty interesting game! I laughed out loud when the economic faction all leaped off a cliff after my "neglect". (I was sacrificing the environment so much for the economy before then, was funny to see them get pissed so quickly haha). Anyways, really cool ideas and use of the theme. One of the most unique games I've played in a while!

Yup, I agree- I got so distracted playing this game while working on it. Probably just me starting to relapse into my PAD addiction. Glad you liked it and thanks for playing!

Thanks! Pokemon was a big inspiration for almost all the dragon designs. And yeah I'm glad you liked the music, Peritune really has some bangers on there

Thanks! And super glad you appreciated the clicks, I also felt like it made a big difference before v.s after I added those in.

Always glad to hear from a fellow recovering addict enjoyer of Puzzle and Dragons! Yep will take another look at the damage formula since another poster had mentioned damage being a bit low.

Couldn't agree more with your last point - I wish PAD mechanics were in more games! Once I played PAD I couldn't ever enjoy another match-3 since I felt myself wanting the flexibility of dragging orbs around to make combos.

Thanks so much for playing!

Thanks! I'm super proud of the art (though I didn't make any of it - that was entirely the other folks I was working with so special thanks to them).  Matching 5 should do a bit more damage since the formula is just combo multiplier times number of orbs matched per color? But maybe that could use a buff so thanks for the feedback on that.

Ah for sure, yeah I definitely can see how it'd be a bit frustrating having to fight everything from the beginning, so might fix that at some point. I think the tile dragging to make combos takes a bit of getting used to, but thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!

Nice job! Happy you liked it!

Thanks for checking it out! Also will look into that bug - I thought I fixed it but I guess it's still popping up. Thanks for reporting it!

Hey thanks for playing! Happy you gave it a shot (as so many others did) despite not being a big tile match fan!

Thanks for checking it out! As for music - I've been using Peritune or other royalty-free music sites for a while now since I have 0 musical talent lol. Would definitely be interested in working with a composer for future projects!

Thanks for playing!!

Haha yep, we based a bunch of the dragon designs off Pokemon. Glad you had fun with it!

Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!

Cool little game with some nice dungeon crawling and a pretty neat shrinking/growing mechanic. I appreciated that there was an interactive tutorial also! Felt like the hitbox was a bit inconsistent with the sword since I couldn't damage enemies without also taking damage. Maybe I was just bad though? Anyways, nice job!

Got it, thanks for the clarification. And great job on an awesome game!

Super polished with a fun, clever concept! I loved the cute art style and cozy music, the UI was really clean,  and it was nice to see the strategic depth in the later levels as well. A bit confused as to how it related to the theme but that's more of a nitpick. Awesome work, team!

Wow, super interesting concept! Don't think I've ever played anything like this before. I think the best way I'd describe it is it's kind of like playing tug of war with yourself? Surprised at how addicting it was, and enjoyed the sfx and the clean minimalist art style. I also thought the music was nice and kind of catchy.

Would've liked a bit more explanation in the beginning as to what "balance" meant, but after a few rounds I started to pick it up a bit more. I liked how the perspective zoomed in and out to to make it clear if you needed a + or a -.

Nice work!

Others have mentioned this already but def feeling the Celeste / Super Meat Boy influence! I think the wall jump could be a bit weird sometimes. But overall, the difficult platforming made for a pretty addicting loop of dying / raging / retrying. Great job!

Here's mine! https://itch.io/jam/game-off-2023/rate/2379095. If you like puzzle and dragons you'll be right at home :)

Pretty cool game with some clean art! Would've liked a tutorial or a how-to-play guide since it took me a while to figure out how to pick stuff up. Also got stuck on the 2nd room lol

Short and sweet with cute art and nice music! Always great to see another Phaser3 project as well. Good work!

Nice and simple puzzle game with easy to understand mechanics, and a pretty cool use of the theme. Would've been nice to have a bit of audio, and the fall after jumping felt a bit fast. Also had no idea how to beat the end level lol.

Really impressed that you built your own custom engine for this, so nice work!
