Theme interpretation
My game is a HYBRID of breakout and an isometric RPG!

Cool theme interpretation. I liked the RPG integration and believe you could take it further. A few examples I have are:

1. adding an image to each colour indicating it's action. This way, the player doesn't have to rely on the introductory explanation to remember what each of the colour blocks do.

2. perhaps hitting the same colour blocks in a row would cause some sort of mega action of that colour. For example, hitting 3 red blocks in a row would do a mega fire attack.

Overall, great game! Check out my game if you get a chance, I used Phaser as well: https://itch.io/jam/game-off-2018/rate/338739

Cool idea, love it so much, look enemies be burn is funny.

Love this idea and would like to see how it could develop. I think building in a sense of progression and strategy could go a long way in making the simple mechanics feel more robust. At this point, it seems like losing and winning both have the same outcome (more skeletons). Rewarding a long streak of breaking blocks or certain kinds of attack combos would be a nice touch. Hope to see more in the future! :)

It reminded me of "you must build a boat" where the minigame affects the RPG.

Good implementation, but I noticed that when the ball's direction is higher on the X coordinate it goes fast: did you forget to normalize the velocity vector after changing the direction?

Developer

Yeah, I was thinking of  you must build a boat for sure when I was creating this game!!! Also, I will check out the normalization. I realized it was really speeding up when it was going diagonal.

Very clever theme interpretation! I love the diablo-style graphics.

Check out my entry if you have time :)

That was great fun! I would love some keyboard controls for left/right

Developer

Thanks for checking it out!! You are the second person to ask for keyboard, I will definitely add that in!

Great RPG/breakout mix!

Looks interesting, but move doesn't work, it ruins the game.

Developer

The paddle moves, click start and use the mouse. The guy doesn't move though.

I know, probably my browser settings was the problem :)
